Video Shock: Darrell Issa on CNN about Special Counsel for Eric Holder

You know Fast and Furious is getting legs when it makes Anderson Cooper's program. You know those legs are picking up momentum when he interviews Rep. Darrell Issa, who actually walks away with having sufficiently gotten his message across. The issue here is whether Attorney General Eric Holder perjured himself on May 3, 2011 when he said the first time he learned about Fast and Furious was a 'few weeks' earlier. This week, documents were released that showed Holder had been briefed on the operation multiple times as early as July, 2010. Cooper hits Issa with a couple of questions that if the latter wasn't prepared, could have flubbed. Fortunately, Issa was more than prepared and responded forcefully.

Though Issa doesn't go as far as saying Holder lied under oath, he did say the Justice Department lied when it said Issa had been briefed on Fast and Furious much earlier as well. He then illustrates the absurdity perfectly by saying that the DOJ would have people believe that Issa knew more about the operation than the Attorney General did.

Two big wins for those who want to see this story exposed. First, CNN actually taking notice of Fast and Furious. Second, Issa's clarity about what's at issue here. Interview starts at about the 3:00 mark.
