Video: Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer says Obama watched Benghazi attack from situation room

This is EXTREMELY significant. Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer - perhaps best known for his work on Able Danger and his subsequent battle with the Defense Intelligence Agency - told Fox News that his sources told him Barack Obama was in the situation room and watched the events in Benghazi unfold in real time.

Pay close attention beginning at the 1:00 mark. Shaffer underscores an important point, saying that not only did the incoming video from Benghazi capture everyone's attention but that it was taking place at the height of the work day in Washington (between 4-5pm) when a lot of people would have been around.

Also, take note that both Shaffer and the other guest (Col. David Hunt) say that the decision to act would have come (or not) from the President and through the Secretary of Defense (Leon Panetta). If Shaffer is right, Obama is quite culpable.

This is big, folks. The herd of possible culprits is thinning and Barack Obama appears to be front and center.

Incidentally, Shaffer's personal story is amazing as well. While serving in Afghanistan, he too did more than was required and put himself in harm's way when he didn't have to. It was this trait that largely contributed to his being awarded the Bronze Star.

When he came forward about his work on Able Danger, a program he and his teammates say identified lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta one year before the attacks, he was railroaded by his own government. He fought to the end but ended up sacrificing his military career by doing so.

Conspiracy theories about 9/11 are in abundance. Some even believe that it was an "inside job". We reject this notion completely. However, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the Bush administration made a conscious and very ill-advised decision not to go after the real perpetrators of the attacks - Saudi Government officials, Princes, and wealthy financiers. The accounts of the deaths of three Saudi Princes in particular don't just border on absurd; they cross the line into absurdity. Foul play is the only logical conclusion.

On the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Americans should come to grips with the fact that those responsible for attacking us have not been brought to justice. Yes, Osama bin Laden is dead and the nineteen hijackers who rammed our own airliners into our own buildings in order to slaughter 3000 Americans are long gone but who provided al-Qaeda with the financing necessary to carry out these attacks and why were so many individuals and entities who were responsible, not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report at all?

Three Saudi Princes were outed by Abu Zubaydah thanks to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EIT); three hundred Saudis were permitted to fly out of the United States in the days after 9/11, many of whom were not questioned, including one of the three Princes; this means that U.S. authorities allowed at least one culpable Saudi Prince out of the country. Were there more?

The cold hard truth is that our government knew full well who was responsible for the 9/11 attacks and chose NOT to make them pay.

Unless, of course, you believe three Saudi Princes were solely responsible for the deaths of 3000 Americans.

Unsung David Anthony Shaffer on National Security Leaks: 'People have died'

Ret. Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer was on Fox and Friends yesterday morning to discuss the controversy over the national security leaks that allegedly came from the White House, despite Obama's claim that such a charge is "offensive."

Shaffer knows intelligence. He was an integral part of Able Danger, a data mining program that identified 9/11 hijackers, including Mohamed Atta, one year prior to 9/11. It's obvious that Shaffer is spitting mad about these leaks. It is his contention that these leaks originated at the "National Security level" at a minimum.

As for Able Danger, it was largely Shaffer's work on that operation, and how he stood up to the full governmental assault against him, that I thought warranted an entire chapter in my upcoming book, Unsung Davids, to tell his very courageous story.
