When Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) wrote to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano, demanding to know why DHS is buying such tremendous amounts of ammunition, a DHS Assistant Secretary wrote back, in part, the following:
"DHS routinely establishes strategic sourcing contracts that combine the requirements of all its Components for commonly purchased goods and services such as ammunition, computer equipment and information technology services. These strategic sourcing contracts help leverage the purchasing power of DHS to efficiently procure equipment and supplies at significantly lower costs."
Once you get past the absurd notion that the federal government has a frugal bone in its collectively bureaucratic body, you know this excerpt from an Obama campaign speech in 2008 makes far more sense:
As cuts to the military mount, the ranks of the IRS are increasing. Could the IRS be that 'Civilian National Security Force' that Obama talked about on the 2008 campaign trail?
Maine's Governor Paul LePage seems to think it might be.
Gov. Paul LePage used his weekly radio address to blast President Obama's health care law and described the Internal Revenue Service as the "new Gestapo."
"We the people have been told there is no choice," he said. "You must buy health insurance or pay the new Gestapo -- the IRS."
Many people saw that and wondered what exactly Obama meant. Regardless of where you stand, we're getting closer to finding out.
It would appear that Mr. Barack Obama is more petulant than normal these days. Again, while speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus dinner, he exhorted the audience to take off their 'bedroom slippers' and 'put on their marching shoes.' This visible frustration exhibited by Obama is likely the culmination of many things: Fast and Furious, Solyndra, and LightSquared come to mind but it's also likely about the prospect of all the unions and people he's promised money to not getting what they think is coming to them.
His base is expecting to get paid and if they don't, Obama is toast. The threat of them not getting paid is quickly becoming a possible reality Obama is having to confront. The president of the United States is coming precariously close to calling for insurrection here. He also seems to be imploding before our very eyes. Fast forward to the 11:30 mark.
The 'marching shoes' line is very telling because Mr. Obama may have shown us a glimpse of that Civilian National Security force he referred to on the 2008 campaign trail. If there's anyone who is well on their way to being just as well funded as the US Military, it's Obama's union goons.
Look, forget conspiracy theories for a minute and simply look at very basic facts. In July of 2008, while on the campaign trail, Barack Obama called for a Civilian National Security force "just as strong, just as powerful, and just as well funded" as our military.
Now it's learned that RAND Corporation wrote a book about a hypothetical entity that comes eerily close to that definition. RAND referred to it as a "Stability Police Force".
The SPF would be able to deploy in 30 days. The cost for this option would be $637.3 million annually, in FY2007 dollars.
The best detractors can say about this infamous clip of Obama calling for this kind of thing is that they need more information.
If you oppose Obama-care in the form of emails, web postings, writings, or even in casual conversation, the White House wants you to be reported. They've even created a special email address for the rat ship of sea-going snitches to use. Straight from the WHITEHOUSE.GOV website:

The good news is that this type of thing reflects desperation and a sense that the White House is beginning to lose the health care debate. The LINDA DOUGLASS VIDEO in particular was a BIG LOSER. When you consider her complete inability to debunk a short clip of Obama saying he's a proponent of single payer being followed up by the release of the entire 2003 clip from Obama actually bolstering the charge that he wants single payer, isn't a crackdown on dissent the next logical step?
The not-so-good news is that this tactic seems to fit right in with the Civilian National Security Force Obama told everyone he wanted back on July 2nd, 2008...

Michael McCray is a former member of ACORN and now one of the ACORN 8, which is a group that is demanding that ACORN's funding be withheld until an investigation is completed. Doug Ross interviewed McCray and posted it to his blog.
McCray maintains that all of the manifestations of ACORN's corrupt practices that we've all come to know and love are just symptoms. The real problems, says McCray, are the corrupt leaders (hmmmmm, sounds like the U.S. government's problem too).
Anyway, ACORN is run with a militant mindset and a union-like structure. Don't believe me, just listen to a guy who was on the inside. As you read McCray's words, think about how often what he says here is said about some Unions.
the biggest shortfall is that ACORN has become unaccountable to the needs and desires of its membership; while purporting to be (and claiming benefits from) being a membership organizations. I believe ACORN has been hijacked by a cabal of individuals who are acting in their own financial and political best interest.
Now for the militant part, which is even more disturbing in light of what Barack Obama has said on video.
Some pray, some write letters, some make phone calls but ACORN goes to “war,” they will engage in immediate direct action for the benefit of low and moderate income families. In a way ACORN is like the Marines.
