I think it's safe to say Mitt Romney's campaign is regretting the ad it produced that took Obama's words completely out of context. It seems that ever since that ad, the DNC has been taking direct aim at Romney. What Romney did would have been like McCain hammering Obama on Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright before locking up the nomination.
In 2008, the Democrats / liberal media wanted to run against McCain. Once McCain became the nominee, they went after him. Before Romney's ad that dissed Obama, he was shaping up to be the DNC's John McCain in 2012 - left alone until getting the nomination. Instead, it appears that Romney kicked a sleeping dog with that ad and the DNC is coming after him with both barrels.
Tea Party conservatives who are searching for the Not-Romney candidate are welcoming these attacks with open arms. The DNC is now promoting Romney as the John Kerry of 2004 on steroids... and they're right, which is an amazing thing to hear myself say.
Anyway, here's the latest from the DNC:
Almost as good is this exchange between Fox's Bret Baier and Romney in which the former challenges the latter on his 2007 immigration stance versus the stance he took after Newt Gingrich seemed to echo it.
Baier shines a spotlight on Mitt the flip-flopper here.

Video: DNC Ad Slams Mitt Romney
That ad put out by the Romney campaign last week that served to take Obama's words completely out of context has apparently raised some dander within the Democratic Party. That's good news for conservatives who know Romney is a RINO at best.
For once, I am in complete agreement with the DNC. Great ad!

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz very Vulnerable in 2012
Before she became DNC Chairman, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz could tell lies and still wallow in relative obscurity, unless she really said something outlandish. Since taking the job, however, she has demonstrated very little difference between herself and Jay Carney, for example. She mouths the same talking points while using the same non-existent logic that is explained only by political hackery. In 2010, her race for reelection was much closer than she expected. Her opponent then was a woman named Karen Harrington.
Her opponent in 2012? Karen Harrington.
Via Hot Air:
Look for Wasserman-Schultz chairmanship to be more of a liability in 2012 for that very reason.
Just look at Jay Carney. He was more liked when he was less known.
More from Tina Korbe at Hot Air.
Her opponent in 2012? Karen Harrington.
Via Hot Air:
Meet Karen Harrington, the Republican challenger who, in 2010, nearly beat Debbie Wasserman Schultz in a 2:1 Democratic district. Accustomed to comfortable margins of victory, Wasserman Schultz was surprised a year ago when Harrington pulled in nearly 40 percent of the vote. Debbie Downer is liable to be still more surprised in 2012 because Harrington has mounted a second campaign against the Democratic National Committee Chairwoman — and she’s ready to do definitively what she nearly did last time.Being the chairman of the party you represent does give one name recognition but being the chairman of a party that asks you to lie about practically everything gives you the wrong kind of name recognition.
“We are more than sure we can win,” Harrington said yesterday in a private conversation at BlogCon2011.
When Harrington treks door to door through Florida’s 20th district, her potential constituents often ask two things: (1) Is she a politician? and (2) Is she a lawyer? Harrington is neither. Voters are happy to hear it. They’re even happier to hear what she is: a small-business owner, wife and mother of three children. She also happens to be a three-time cancer survivor — but that crops up in conversation only if an adroit question elicits it.
She’s lived in South Florida ever since her parents moved to the Sunshine State from Massachusetts in 1969 — and her family and she have been in business for themselves for almost as long — 37 years. Today, at the helm of three homestyle restaurants, she and her younger sister employ about 100 people. That means she knows firsthand how government helps or hinders the efforts of job creators.
Look for Wasserman-Schultz chairmanship to be more of a liability in 2012 for that very reason.

Videos: DNC Chair on Civil Discourse Then and Now
The tale of two Debbie Wasserman Schultzes. First up, in the days after Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot, the current DNC Chair went on the air with far left ideologue Tavis Smiley and said that it was time for the president to have a 'conversation about civility.' It was a politicized statement because Giffords was a Democrat. This was right in the midst of an absurd left wing narrative that said the likes of Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh were responsible.
Now, fast forward to one day after James Hoffa exhorted a union crowd to view themselves as Obama's 'army' and 'take these son of a bit***s out.' When asked direct questions about the DNC's reaction to Hoffa's comments, Wasserman-Schultz refused to answer.

Video: Proof the DNC has Doubled Down on Howard Dean
Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman, Howard Dean was likely the biggest left wing ideologue ever appointed to the position. If you remember any of his antics when asked a tough question, you know that he was the master at avoiding it entirely while attempting to set a new narrative directed at his opponents. Surely, the Democratic Party couldn't do worse than him as chairman. Oh, yes they did. Far left whacko, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has only been in the job a short while and is already proving to be the quintessential smoking gun for claims that the left has doubled down.
Here, while being interviewed by CBS's Harry Smith, the subject is Rep. Paul Ryan's plan to fix Medicare. After conceding that the Democrats reject Ryan's plan, he then asks Schultz if the Democrats have a plan at all. Her refusal to answer that with a 'yes' or a 'no' communicates the answer, which is no. She then proceeds to lie about Ryan's plan. I'll give Dean credit on one thing. He was much smoother at lying while changing the subject than Schultz is. This is just plain pathetic.
Via Hot Air:
Last week, DWS charged that if the Republicans were in charge, Americans would all be driving foreign cars. Lost on her was the fact that she drives a Japanese vehicle.
She then proceeded to deride Republicans for having the gall to insist that illegal aliens are breaking the law.
If you're a Democrat, you likely miss this guy.

AWESOME! BAIT AND SWITCHBOARD
The end of the DNC's "Conservative Mob" ad asks viewers to contact the RNC to "express their outrage" while giving out the RNC phone number. What apparently happened next basically served to short circuit the bullies.

The RNC automated message PROMPTED CALLERS to "Press 1". When callers pressed "1", they were automatically sent to the DNC switchboard. The result was a "friendly fire" shut down of the DNC Switchboard.
Utter Brilliance.
Michael Steele has been getting beaten up lately but THIS warrants a Hat Tip. The WASHINGTON INDEPENDENT reports:
We may be looking at another Obama tactic that has backfired.

“I thought it was a good idea,” Steele said. “Don’t sit there and think you’re going to direct a bunch of angry liberals to call the RNC when I know full well what that’s all about. I get the joke. My response was, talk to your own party, because they’re the ones ginning this up.”Refreshing when you think about what the GOP has been like lately.
We may be looking at another Obama tactic that has backfired.

VIDEO: RNC HAMMERS BACK
Has anyone wondered why Obama hasn't learn when to stop campaigning? It's bad enough that the DNC is still doing campaign-like ads but they're targeting citizens who are lawfully assembling and exercising Constitutional rights.
Somewhat unrelated but nicely done is this ad from the RNC.
