Glenn Beck: 'We're all Catholics now"

I'm cross-posting this from Shoebat.com because this is Glenn Beck at his best.

This is a very compelling video from Glenn Beck. In it, he references a trip he took to the Vatican and discussions he had with Cardinals. According to Beck, those Cardinals understand that the world is moving toward a spiritual war between good and evil and that the Pope has appointed six very socially conservative Cardinals who “get it.”

Walid has long been making the case that the anti-Christ will not be European but Muslim. Adherents to the European anti-Christ model inevitably include the Catholic Church in their calculations but if Beck is right here, the Pope is actually choosing to fight evil. Though Beck doesn’t talk about Islam in this segment, the implication is that the Catholic church is under assault for a reason and it’s not being attacked by forces for good but of evil. After all, it’s currently fighting against things like abortion, which is the murder of the unborn, among the most evil of earthly acts.

Are we to believe that anti-Christ will fight itself?

Beck also references Ephesians 6. Here are verses 10-20 of that chapter, which seem to be the ones Beck is referring to specifically:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Awesome: Archbishop with Guts!

Newly appointed bishop for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Charles J. Chaput, is going after the liberal media on its handling of religious issues, social issues, and even the Arab Spring. This is very refreshing to see from a Catholic leader. Frankly, it's in such short supply that the absence of such men in the Catholic church likely has something to do with why it gets such a bad rap. Pope Benedict XVI recently moved Chaput from the Archdiocese of Denver. If this was a promotion, it could help direct other bishops down a similar path. It would also demonstrate that the Pope endorses such assertiveness from Bishops.

The news outlets CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and MSNBC do not “provide trustworthy information about religious faith,” said Philadelphia’s incoming Archbishop, Charles Chaput, at the Catholic World Youth Day ongoing this week in Madrid, Spain.

Chaput, the former Archbishop of Denver, made his remarks in an address on religious freedom to a group of more than 10,000 young pilgrims in Madrid on Wednesday. As initially reported in First Things, Chaput told the audience that, “In the United States, our battles over abortion, family life, same-sex ‘marriage,’ and other sensitive issues have led to ferocious public smears and legal threats not only against Catholics, but also against Mormons, evangelicals, and other religious believers.”

“And with relatively few exceptions,” he said, “the mass media tend to cover these disputed issues with a combination of ignorance, laziness, and bias against traditional Christian belief.”

Then Chaput went after the liberal media for its coverage of and bias toward the Arab Spring:

Archbishop Chaput noted that the media gave a lot of coverage to the so-called “Arab Spring,” involving civil unrest in Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries. “But very little of that coverage has mentioned that the turmoil in Muslim countries has also created a very dangerous situation for Christians and other religious minorities across North Africa and the Middle East,” he said. “In Egypt, angry mobs have attacked Christian churches and monasteries, burning them to the ground and murdering the people inside.”

In addition, he said there has been widespread anti-Christian violence in Iraq, Syria, and Tunisia, but little news coverage of this in the U.S. media, adding that it is illegal to wear a crucifix or own a Bible in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, said the Archbishop, in Pakistan, “Christians face frequent discrimination, slander, beatings and even murder.”

It is long since overdue for Christians to stand up for themselves. Chaput - and perhaps the Pope - see it the same way.

POPE: NO TURKEY FOR EU

The story that Pope Benedict - as revealed by Wikileaks cables - expressed strong opposition to allowing Turkey to join the EU came out last week but we have some interesting analysis from a man whose Catholic mother converted his Islamic terrorist father to Christianity. Ted Shoebat has long maintained that Catholicism has gotten a bad rap over the years but that the Wikileaks cable reveals that the Vatican is willing to express strong opposition to Turkey, and for good reason.

The Pope wishes that Turkey would not come into the EU. UK’s Guardian newspaper reported that the pope is responsible for the Vatican’s growing hostility towards Turkey joining the EU, according to previously secret cables. This further proves that the Vatican is not our enemy and that Europe will not fall into Muslim hands. Americans need to see this and understand that the Catholic Church will help the West and the Church fight againts that Islamization of the West. The Catholic church is the enemy of Islam just as it was the enemy of the Nazi Party.

Turkey and Iran are planning on becoming economic allies. Press TV reported that “Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mansour Borqaei says Tehran and Ankara need to form joint expert groups to further expand bilateral exports. [...] The Turkish side, in turn, described Iran and Turkey as two great nations in the Middle East, saying that the common history and civilization that both countries share are all the more reason for them to enjoy cordial relations.”

The point is well taken as Turkey has been drifting away from secularism and toward Islamism ever since Erdogan took office as Prime Minister and Abdullah Gul assumed the presidency. Since then, its relations with Iran have continued to strengthen as well.

Here is yet another example of how some good can come out of the Wikileaks cables. In fact, it's a bit of a mystery why the Pope wasn't public with this sentiment all along. Not coming out forcefully and publicly has only fueled suspicions about where he stood. Had he publicly made such statements, western allies would have been much more supportive. In fact, as Cardinal Ratzinger in 2004, the future Pope voiced the concerns years ago as well. Unfortunately, to the public, it can appear he doesn't realize such things based on public stances. Thanks to this particular cable, we now know the Vatican appears to understand the greater Islamic threat to western civilization.

IS THE POPE ENDORSING ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT?

Some may not be surprised by this one and I can honestly say I'm not all that shocked by it but it is extremely disturbing to see the pope take this kind of stand. Climategate has proven that man-made climate change is unproven. That must necessarily mean that to believe in it is an expression of faith. I'm not sure what the pope's intentions are by coming down on the side of environmentalists but I'm more concerned with what the consequences of such a stance might enable.

REUTERS reported:

Industrialized nations must recognize their responsibility for the environmental crisis, shed their consumerism and embrace more sober lifestyles, Pope Benedict said on Tuesday.

The pope's call for more environmental commitments came in his message for the Roman Catholic Church's annual World Day of Peace, to be marked on Jan 1 and whose theme is "If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation."

While saying that developing countries "are not exempt from their own responsibilities with regard to creation," and had a duty to gradually adopt effective environmental measures, the bulk of his criticism was aimed at rich nations.

Or how about this direct quote from the Pope:

"This means that technologically advanced societies must be prepared to encourage more sober lifestyles, while reducing their energy consumption and improving its efficiency."

Again, placing intent aside, the Pope is providing ammunition for Environmental Whack jobs who believe in a global government and population control, which is being bandied about in COPENHAGEN. Like it or not, the words used by the Pope can easily be quoted by the likes of Obama's Science czar, John Holdren who, in addition to being on board with man-made climate change has expressed support for forced abortions and other extremely DESPICABLE THINGS.

If the data on man-made climate change is compromised and proven to have been manipulated, it therefore must necessarily mean that believing in it is an act of faith. The fact that the pope is enabling this kind of faith in an unproven science is disturbing. Remember, I said "enable" and not "sanction". Again, the consequences of the pope's words are what bother me here, not the intent behind them, which are unknown to me anyway. His language is more easily championed by the eco-wackos than it is those who know that the man-made climate change movement is a fraud.

Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.

It would seem to me, in light of climategate, that the aforementioned passage is a bit more warranted.

Need Clarification on the Pope's Encyclical

Not sure how many people are disturbed by the potential implications of the Pope of the Roman Catholic church taking a formal stance on how to fix a global economy but there were definitely parts of it that raised my eyebrows. The encyclical that he released this week seems to call for granting increased powers to worldy forces.

Is Pope Benedict really adovcating that some sort of world body like the U.N. be involved in fixing our economic woes?


How should we interpret this?

In the face of the unrelenting growth of global interdependence, there is a strongly felt need, even in the midst of a global recession, for a reform of the United Nations Organization, and likewise of economic institutions and international finance, so that the concept of the family of nations can acquire real teeth.

Or this....

there is urgent need of a true world political authority

Or perhaps...

Such an authority would need to be regulated by law, to observe consistently the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity, to seek to establish the common good, and to make a commitment to securing authentic integral human development inspired by the values of charity in truth.

Regulated by law? Who's going to do the regulating? The United States is a nation of laws that its leaders don't seem to have to follow because they're not accountable to anyone. Imagine that on STEROIDS!

The apostle, standing on the shore, saw a savage beast rise out of the sea; a tyrannical, idolatrous, persecuting power, springing up out of the troubles which took place. It was a frightful monster! It appears to mean that worldly, oppressing dominion, which for many ages, even from the times of the Babylonish captivity, had been hostile to the church.

If the government of the most free nation in the history of the world (United States) can become corrupt and tyrannical, why on earth would anyone believe that a one-world governing authority wouldn't be much much worse?

Forgive me but hearing the Pope talk about a "family of nations" acquiring "real teeth" is a bit troubling.
