To think that a photo of a woman sitting on the lap of Gary Hart sunk his candidacy just over twenty years ago. Is this how far we've fallen? The fact that a huge swath of South Carolinians pulled the lever for Alvin Greene in the South Carolina primary because his name reminded them of the 1970's singer notwithstanding, there are actually people out there cheering for this man; that is the much bigger indictment of South Carolina democrats.
I've never heard the notion that South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint is keeping the country hostage until I heard Greene say it in this clip. Jim DeMint is keeping the country hostage, Alvin? Really? Then he repeats ad-nausea um that 125,000 jobs have been lost across the country. Uh, Alvin, take a look around at who is in the majority in congress and who controls the executive branch.
The money quote? "..most people that travel to South Carolina, get here by vehicle."
Wow.
Oh, and just for some context, here's that priceless interview between Fox's Shepard Smith and the young lady who accused Greene of forcing pornography on her.
Just because it's once again relevant, here is who South Carolina democrats thought they were voting for.....

TEA PARTY LEADERSHIP DENOUNCED RACISM.....THREE MONTHS AGO
Despite not making it available to the general public, the NAACP has issued a resolution calling for the Tea Party movement's leadership to denounce any and all racism from its ranks. Uh, thanks to this interview between Geraldo Rivera and Niger Innis, the NAACP is about three months late. A letter written and signed by over a dozen tea party group leaders, making up the National Tea Party Federation is dated April 24th, 2010.
Watch Innis hold it up on Geraldo for all to see.

HERE is the letter. It was posted on Big Government back on April 26th. Perhaps the NAACP should check this stuff out before it starts poppin' off. It'd be nice if the NAACP came out publicly against Rod Blagojevich for referring to Jesse Jackson Jr. as an "Uber-African-American" countless times on the recordings played during his trial. Then again, that trial - and the facts - are very unkind to Jesse Jackson Jr. But I digress.

NAACP / TEA PARTY TEA SUMMIT - OH, BROTHER
Has the Tea Party learned nothing? The victor in the Henry Louis Gates saga between he and police officer James Crowley was Crowley himself. The infamous beer summit at the White House only transpired because the Cambridge cop refused to apologize. When Gates and Obama realized that Crowley was sticking to his guns, they went into defense mode. The result was the beer summit. By and large, the only time things like this happen are when one side cries uncle.
Crowley agreed to the summit because when the White House calls, you generally honor the request but make no mistake, the entire episode was an attempt by the losers (Obama and Gates) to call a draw. The longer Crowley went without giving in, the uglier things got for Obama and Gates.
The same thing appears to be happening between the Tea Party and the NAACP. The problem is that the Tea Party is the group calling for the summit. Via Fox Philly:
It's very simple. Gates demanded an apology from Crowley. Crowley refused quite publicly. Rather than push it, Gates and Obama gave in. I'm afraid this effort on the part of the Tea Party is putting them in the wrong company.

A leader of the Tea Party called Sunday for a sequel to last summer's "beer summit," proposing a national "tea summit" to ease tensions over race in America.Again, remember, it was Obama who called the beer summit last year. He did so because he was in a no-win situation. The longer Crowley stood his ground, the more ground Obama lost.
In the latest face-off between the conservative political movement and the NAACP on CBS's "Face the Nation" program, TeaParty365 co-founder David Webb accused the head of the NAACP of practicing "selective racism" in calling on the Tea Party to denounce members that use racist language.
