Honduras Standoff Continues

Do you remember the kid who backed down from a fair fight and then called his friends, stood behind them, and THEN talked tough? That kid is Manuel Zelaya and his friends are The Organization of American States (OAS), the United Nations, Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, the Castro Brothers, and yes, Barack Obama.

Zelaya was removed as president of Honduras on June 28th by his country's Supreme Court, its Congress, and its Military. Now he's "All That". Or is he?

Reuters reports on the fact that his replacement, Roberto Micheletti, is not backing down (nor should he). As the saga plays out, the truth begins to reveal itself. Even Democrat U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel from New York has changed his tune.

Reuters quotes Mark Ruhl, a specialist on Honduras.
The longer this goes on, the better it is for Micheletti.

Micheletti needs to hold on.

"A lie makes it halfway around the world before the truth can get its pants on."

- Winston Churchill
