By now, most people have already seen the montage of Senate Democrats bemoaning the process of reconciliation - the procedure that allows the Senate to circumvent the 60 vote requirement to end debate - when they were in the minority but this video may be even more revealing about the level of desperation Barack Obama may be feeling.
Take note in particular about what Obama was saying in 2007. Specifically, he was beating the drum that a strategy including the tactic of reconciliation would not be a successful one. In light of the fact that reconciliation is what he is now relying on to pass health care, desperation is likely the motive.
