The last time I saw Chris Matthews so sardonic was when he was visibly incredulous at the notion of doing a segment on the birthers. This video montage starts out with Matthews and Eugene Robinson playing a few clips of Glenn Beck saying that the socialist left and the Islamists are allies because both have a common enemy in Israel. Whether or not hatred for Israel makes them allies is of little consequence in this clip. Matthews and his guest are more interested in painting Beck as a kook for saying it than in looking at the actual facts. The closer you get to the truth with the left, the more they try to paint you as a nut.
The way Matthews reacts almost makes me want to give the birthers a second look. Anyway, the short exchange between Matthews and Robinson is followed by a montage of other clips which more than prove Beck's point.

Video: Chris Matthews' Latest Obsession - Birthers!
Now that Hawaii's registered socialist governor, Neil Abercrombie has come up empty with respect to his pledge to shut the birthers up with documented proof, the narrative of MSNBC's Chris Matthews must necessarily change. Ain't it funny? In late December, Chris Matthews had David Corn and Clarence Page on his show to discuss Hawaii's registered socialist governor's effort to debunk the birthers by producing documentation that would end the controversy. During that exchange, Matthews said Obama should just release the long form birth certificate to end the controversy and embarrass the birthers. Corn and Page agreed. Corn even went a step further to say that presenting it would allow him to 'make even more fun of the birthers.'
Abercrombie then lays a goose egg. What to do, what to do. Matthews had Corn and Howard Fineman on the program to discuss the new Arizona bill that would prevent Obama from being on that state's ballot in 2012 unless he can produce the long form. The narrative clearly changed from 'Obama should produce it' to one of 'one doesn't exist but it doesn't matter.'
It's so funny watching someone with egg on his face ramble as if it wasn't there.
To fully appreciate that exchange, one almost needs to see this one from when registered socialist Abercrombie had just begun his quest to prove the birthers wrong.

VIDEO: CHRIS MATTHEWS SAYS CRAP
A moment when Chris apparently wasn't feeling a thrill run up his leg occurred on Friday night's Hardball. Matthews was interviewing a leftwing author whose book had actually cracked the New York Times Bestseller list.
However, as NEWSBUSTERS points out, at #21 it is still 20 slots behind Michelle Malkin's 'Culture of Corruption' and 14 slots behind Mark Levin's 'Liberty and Tyranny'. This was apparently a source of consternation for Matthews who referred to such books as "right wing crap".

VIDEO: LLOYD DOGGETT DOGS PROTESTORS ON HARDBALL
Austin Rep. Lloyd Doggett was confronted by protestors upon his return home from Washington and instead of hearing the message, he decided to whip out the Arrogant card on Chris Matthews' show. Calling the protests a "desperate tactic" by people who are "desperate to stop health reform", he referred to people with a legitimate beef as a "Republican mob".
In the most shameful moment of arrogance, Dogget said that these protests served to "Reaffirm my resolve" to push forward instead of influencing him to change course.
Again, I know that I just posted the Barack Obama Truth Squad link but it serves as a nice contrast to Doggett's accusations.
