Geraldo: "I was manually raped"

Yes, Geraldo Rivera said he was "manually raped" by a male TSA agent. I don't suppose Geraldo understands that the TSA's policies as they stand today are a direct extension of Barack Obama's wishes. This could all end if President "I support gay marriage" would just sign another one of his infamous Executive Orders. TSA is a branch of DHS, which is headed by Janet Napolitano, Barack Obama's immediate subordinate.

Fast forward to the 1:50 mark.

Florida Sheriffs Challenged to Arrest TSA Agents

At one level, this is not likely to go very far but on another level, state and local police officers are being called out. A libertarian group in Florida has sent a letter to the Sheriffs in each of that state's 67 counties. That letter includes the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution as well as the relevant portion of the Florida State Constitution when it comes to illegal searches and seizures. The interesting thing here is that there really is no disputing the fact that the TSA is violating the Fourth Amendment. It will be interesting to see if any of these Sheriffs act on the letters they are receiving.

Via WND:
The issue of invasive physical pat-downs by federal Transportation Security Administration agents at airports across the nation isn't going away anytime soon, with word that the Libertarian Party of Florida formally is demanding that sheriffs in the state's 67 counties arrest TSA agents for sexual battery.

The enhanced pat-down procedures – or the optional full body scans that essentially create a nude image of passengers – were imposed on travelers across America in recent months, prompting a wide range of reactions.

Just last week a state law proposed in Texas that would have created charges against federal agents who impose those physical pat-downs – described by critics and "groping" – failed at the end of a special legislation session when representatives couldn't assemble an enhanced quorum required during the special meetings of the lawmakers.
Texas House Speaker Joe Straus (RINO) is the individual most responsible for Texas not passing its version of the anti-groping Bill. In essence, he did exactly what any Sheriff in Florida who ignores this letter will have done. As for what the letter to the Florida Sheriffs said:
"As sheriff, you have the absolute duty to enforce the law uniformly and without prejudice. You are, at best, engaged in selective enforcement by choosing to further ignore these flagrant violations of federal and state law. At worst, you are complicit," a message to the 67 sheriffs from the party, signed by chairman Adrian Wyllie, said.

"If you have TSA agents within your county that are violating the law, then you must act. Warn the TSA agents that they are subject to arrest if they continue to violate the law. Should they continue, then you must begin making arrests," the letter said. "We urge you to remember the oath you took to support, protect and defend the Constitution of both the state of Florida and the United States of America. On behalf of all Floridians, the Libertarian Party of Florida calls on you to do exactly that.

"We turn to you, our constitutional sheriffs, to enforce the law in accordance with your sworn duty," the letter said.
These sheriffs are being called out; it will be interesting to see if any of them will stand up for those they're charged with serving and protecting and against federal oppression.

Texas' TSA 'Anti-Groping' Bill Passes Both Houses

Last week, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) pledged he wouldn't allow the anti-groping bill to come to the floor for a vote and that it was nothing more than a 'publicity stunt.' Today, the bill has been slightly re-worded and has passed both the House and Senate. As the special legislative session is scheduled to come to an end, both Houses need to reconcile their respective versions of the bill. Perhaps adding to the urgency was the fact that a State Rep. and Texas Public Utilities Commission (PUC) were victims of TSA sexual assault.

The 95 year-old woman who had to remove her adult diaper may have put this one over the top.

Via Reuters:
Legislation to make enhanced airport security pat-downs a crime if they involve touching a passenger's "private" areas was approved by the Texas House and Senate on Monday.

The moves came just days after the measure appeared dead when the House speaker called the provisions "unenforceable" and "an embarrassment to the state of Texas."

By passing the bill, the "Texas Legislature is not only telling the (Transportation Security Administration) to change their policies - we're telling the Obama Administration that we will not be intimidated and we will vigorously defend our Constitutional rights," Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, who presides over the Senate, said in a statement.

The two chambers passed similar measures as the special legislative session's conclusion on Wednesday approaches.
Straus' about face on this very welcome news and should serve as a testament to a very engaged Texas public.

Video: TSA Forces 95 year-old Leukemia Patient to Remove Diaper

CNN reporter Don Lemon seems mildly apoplectic over this story as he reports it. Apparently lost on people like him who work for liberal media outlets is that the TSA policy that is causing things like the TSA requiring a 95 year-old leukemia patient to remove her adult diaper, can be laid at the feet of Barack Obama. The TSA reports to Napolitano and Napolitano reports directly to Obama. Lost on Lemon is that Obama is responsible for this policy and this abhorrent behavior from the TSA. He could end it tomorrow but we never even here him talk about it.

Sanctuary Cities Bill and TSA anti-Groping Bill may Both be Dead in Texas

First up, the Sanctuary Cities Bill (SB 9 and HB 9) in Texas. It looked like a tough immigration bill was set to sail through Texas' special legislative session after Gov. Rick Perry put it on the agenda. With Republican majorities in both houses, odds were much better than not, that the bill would end up on Perry's desk. Then two of Texas' richest men stepped in - Charles Butt and Bob Perry - and threatened to withhold future contributions to the Republican Party if the bill passed.

Via Houston Chronicle:
AUSTIN — As two of Texas' most politically-involved business leaders emerged as opponents, a bill banning "sanctuary cities" lost crucial momentum Friday, raising the possibility the measure will be killed or substantially weakened before the special session of the Texas Legislature ends Wednesday.

HillCo Partners' lobby team, led by Neal T. "Buddy" Jones, is working on behalf of Houston home builder Bob Perry and San Antonio grocery store magnate Charles Butt to alter a proposal that would permit law enforcement officers to inquire about the immigration status of people they detain, Jones' partner Bill Miller confirmed.

Miller declined to detail the changes Jones hopes to make in the legislation, saying only that they have "given language to members" to consider including in the proposal, which would carry financial penalties for cities that prohibit law enforcement from inquiring about immigration status.

The opposition of the business leaders demonstrates a schism in the Republican Party on the issue, designated a priority by Gov. Rick Perry. Bob Perry, no relation to the governor, is a prolific Republican contributor who has given $2.5 million to the governor's campaign coffers since 2001. HEB CEO Butt has made substantial contributions to members of both parties.

Friday, the House State Affairs Committee canceled hearings scheduled to pass the bill for the second day in a row, due to a lack of a quorum, as exhausted lawmakers returned home to tend to their businesses and families. A meeting has been scheduled for Monday, but House leaders did not rule out that a meeting could be called during the weekend if enough lawmakers return to Austin.
As if that wasn't enough, House Speaker (RINO) has called the TSA anti-groping bill a 'publicity stunt,' which indicates an unwillingness on his part to push the bill forward.
AUSTIN — House Speaker Joe Straus on Friday called an “anti-groping” bill favored by Gov. Rick Perry a “publicity stunt” and said he would not allow it to come up for a vote as written.

The legislation, which would criminalize invasive airport security pat-downs, would turn Texas “into a laughingstock,” said Straus, R-San Antonio, after abruptly adjourning the House for lack of a quorum for the second time this week.

Straus said the bill is so seriously flawed he does not think lawmakers will approve the measure before the special session ends Wednesday.

“The bill, without some serious revisions, appears to me to be nothing more than an ill-advised publicity stunt,” he said. “It’s unenforceable, ill-advised and misdirected to uniformed security personnel, not where appropriately it should be aimed, which is in Washington to the bosses of these people.”

Perry, who is contemplating a run for the Republican nomination for president, placed the measure on the special agenda Monday. He and some of his legislative allies view the security checks by the Transportation Security Administration as unreasonable.

The bill, as drafted, would make it a crime of official oppression if federal employees perform a search that involves touching a person’s private parts without probable cause to believe the person has committed an offense.
Both of these developments should outrage conservative voters who are watching establishment-style politics torpedo two critical bills they demand get passed. This goes to demonstrate that when Republicans lose seats, it's because they're too liberal, not because they're too conservative.

Video: Senator Rand Paul tells TSA Head, 'You're Clueless'

TSA Chief John Pistole got an earful from Republican Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) over the intrusive TSA pat-downs. Paul presents a photo of a six-year old girl getting the invasive treatment and embarrasses Pistole with it. Then he gives another example relayed to him by one of his neighbors, at which point he says to Pistole 'You're clueless.' The fact that it is Rand Paul - a freshman elected on a Tea Party platform - who does this should make voters who sent him to Congress to deal with the overreach of the Federal government feel a bit better about being heard last November.

Showdown! Rick Perry puts TSA 'no-grope' Bill on Agenda

This is huge and sets the stage for a big showdown between the Feds and the State of Texas. During Texas' regular legislative session, HB 1937 unanimously passed the House but was defeated in the Senate, not with a vote but with a letter of intimidation from the Feds. The Senate withdrew the bill and the regular session ended. Ah, but hold on. That regular session ended without passage of a bill that could not be left unresolved. Why? Because a Democrat Senator named Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) filibustered the bill.

Perry was forced to call a special session, where he has far more power. In special session, the governor has sole responsibility for putting bills on the agenda and simple majorities are all that's needed - no filibuster can stop passage of a bill. In addition to Perry putting SB 9 - a tough sanctuary cities bill - on the agenda recently, he has now put the TSA no-groping bill on the agenda as well.

Via the Houston Chronicle:
Gov. Rick Perry announced he had added legislation that would make it illegal for TSA agents to engage in “intrusive touching” at airports security checkpoints without probable cause to the list of items for the legislature to consider during the special session.

The measure had previously failed to pass in the Texas Senate after the Justice Department wrote a scathing memo against the bill that threatened legal action against the state and the bill became enmeshed in Senate politics.

There are questions about what affect the legislation might have since airport security is a federal matter.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who was accused of lobbying against the bill in May said he was “pleased” by Perry’s decision.

“I’m very pleased that Governor Perry agreed to add this legislation to his Special Session call,” Dewhurst said. “Addressing unreasonable and unlawful searches of innocent travelers by some TSA employees is an issue that affects all Texans who use air travel, and it should not wait until next Session.”
Perry is being assailed by many in the conservative movement for his RINO streak. I must say, I've been one of them but he is making some bold moves in this special session that should please the state's rights crowd.

Audio: Rick Perry's New Orleans Speech

On his way to New Orleans, ostensibly to test the presidential stump, Texas Governor Rick Perry to bring an endless supply of red meat. If the goal was to send the crowd away with their euphoric fill, Perry seemed to deliver but how substantial is the substance of that speech? Like he did at a press conference on the eve of Tea Party mania in 2009, Perry set his sights firmly on the Federal government's overreach and disregard for the Constitution.

Texas Tribune has the AUDIO of the speech. Here's the video via Breitbart:

MSNBC has also reported on Perry's speech:
NEW ORLEANS -- Rick Perry delivered an unapologetically socially conservative speech before a friendly crowd here.

“We need to stop apologizing for celebrating life,” the Republican Texas governor bellowed at the Republican Leadership Conference in a finger-pointing, finger-wagging and, at times, bombastic, speech.

“Stop apologizing” for wanting to stem the tide of the “entitlement mindset,” he boasted.

“Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let’s stop trying to curry favor with them,” he said, before imploring the crowd to “stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our values. Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”
Perry can certainly talk the talk when he needs to but right now, the TSA anti-groping bill is in his hands during Texas' current special legislative session. The bill failed in the regular session when the State Senate backed down after the Feds threatened to make Texas a no-fly zone. In the special session, Perry will determine the bill's fate. If he puts the bill on the agenda, it will almost assuredly pass. If he doesn't he won't.

Words are nice but Perry's actions relative to this legislation will necessarily show us if he's willing to boldly hoist the Texas flag or wave the White flag in the face of federal oppression.

Video: TSA Now Groping Texas State Officials

The State of Texas is still in the midst of its special session and HB 1937, which passed unanimously in the House, failed in the Senate when the Feds threatened that such a law would lead to Texas becoming a 'no fly zone.' The bill would make it a crime for TSA agents to overstep their bounds with respect to pat downs. Now that the Texas legislature is in special session, passage of the bill has come down to being contingent on Gov. Rick Perry putting it on the agenda.

Making matters even more interesting is the fact that two state officials - Barry Smitherman, Chairman of the Public Utility Commission and Barbara Nash, a state rep. - have their own personal horror stories to tell.

Via the New American:
High-ranking Texas officials groped by agents with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are sounding off about the scandal in the press, adding more pressure on state lawmakers and Gov. Rick Perry to resurrect a bill criminalizing the invasive measures without probable cause. In May, it appeared likely that the Texas anti-groping legislation would succeed. After unanimously sailing through the state House of Representatives, the bill was on its way to passage in the Texas Senate. Originally it had more than enough support to pass.

Then the feds intervened. U.S. Attorney John E. Murphy sent a thinly veiled warning to lawmakers and senior officials: If the TSA was no longer permitted to violate the Fourth Amendment rights of passengers and the courts refused to block the legislation, the federal government would basically create a "no-fly zone" in Texas.

The State Senate backed down. But the battle is still not over. In fact, it may be just getting started. After two Texas officials described their recent experiences with the TSA on local television, calls for state action are growing even louder.
This short news report from Austin's Fox affiliate says it all:

Interestingly, the bill has already passed through committee for a House vote, which was unanimous the first time around. Not only that but Republican senator Dan Patrick is saying that there are enough votes to pass there as well. Lt. Governor David Dewhurst is also encouraging Perry to put the bill on the agenda.
The Lt. Governor is on board this time, too. State Sen. Dan Patrick also re-introduced the bill into the Senate. And this time, he says there are enough votes to pass it.

Now the fate of the bill rests with Gov. Perry. In Texas, only legislation that is called up by the Governor can be voted on during the special legislative session. So, a broad coalition of liberty-minded organizations is mobilizing to make sure that happens.
Once again, Perry is being faced with a political decision that he cannot wiggle out of. Passage of this bill is all but guaranteed by him putting it on the agenda. In light of that reality, this video should be shown to him by every member of the Texas legislature. It is from April 9, 2009 - during the rise of the Tea Party. Perry made some very bold statements and his refusal to put HB 1937 on the agenda will have meant this press conference was a big fat lie.

Video: TSA Mistreats Special Needs Man on his Way to Disney

Please remember as you watch the latest in an increasingly long line of examples of despicable TSA behavior, that Barack Obama could end all of this today. When you see these stories, they are 100% on his authority. He could stop this today if he wanted to. The TSA reports directly to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano and Napolitano reports directly to Obama. Ok, now the latest example. Drew Mandy is 29 years old but he has the mental capacity of a two-year old. As he was going through security at an airport on his way to Disney World with his parents, he was stopped for carrying a plastic toy hammer and a baseball.

Just watch what happened.

TSA Pat Down Ban Bill may be Back in Texas Special Session

As the Texas legislature was winding down its regular session recently, a bill that would make intrusive TSA pat downs a misdemeanor, the state Senate lost its backbone when the Obama-led TSA threatened to make Texas a no-fly zone if the bill passed and was signed into law. Interestingly, through the fault of no one but one Democratic state senator named Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth), Governor Perry had to call a special session that will last thirty days. Davis filibustered a bill that could not be left unresolved.

The rub is that any legislation can be put on the agenda by Perry in a special session - unlike a regular session. Moreover, super majorities are not necessary, only simple ones, to pass legislation. In addition to the 'sanctuary cities' bill (HB 9) possibly ending up on the agenda - if Perry lives up to his word - the TSA pat down bill may very well end up there as well.

Via The Hill:
Texas lawmakers may reconsider a bill to outlaw controversial airport pat-downs, the sponsor of legislation that was shelved recently said this week.

Texas state Rep. David Simpson (R) said that Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst reportedly asked Gov. Rick Perry to include the measure in a special session of the Texas legislature. Dewhurst reported asked lawmakers to withdraw the bill when federal officials threatened to cancel flights to Texas if it passed.

But he has since had a change of heart, Simpson told fans on his Facebook page.

"The Lt. Gov. sent a letter to Gov. Perry asking him to include the TSA bill HB 1937 in the special session!," Simpson wrote on the website. "Please call the Governor and tell him you agree with Lt. Gov. Dewhurst!"

The measure would make it a misdemeanor for TSA agents would have been to pat down travelers who did not have probable cause for suspicion. The penalty would be a $4,000 fine and one year in jail.
Of all things, the TSA Blog cited Article VI. Clause 2 of the United States Constitution (the Supremacy clause) for why Texas has no right to enact such laws, which states that the Constitution is to be the 'supreme law of the land' and that state judges must adhere to it.

Isn't that what Oklahoma did when it voted not to enforce sharia law? The judge put a permanent hold on that law. You'd think the feds would want to lean on that judge instead of on Texas.

As for the TSA pat downs, here is a woman in an Arizona airport over the Memorial Day weekend, screaming for police while saying she had just been molested by an agent.

VIDEO: WOMAN ARRESTED AT AUSTIN AIRPORT FOR REFUSING GOV'T GROPE JOB

Claire Hirschkind was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AIBA) for refusing to go through checkpoint scanners and then refusing the intrusive TSA junk-touching pat down. Hirschkind's reason for not going through the scanner? She claimed she has the equivalent of a pacemaker in her chest. Her reason for being more sensitive than most about a government-sanctioned groping? She claimed to be a rape victim.

There are many absurdities revealed in this story but among them were two passengers interviewed by the KVUE reporter. Each said they felt safer as a result of passengers like Hirschkind having to go through the process. Here is the video report from Austin's ABC affiliate - KVUE:

h/t Weasel Zippers

Now, in light of those two individuals who feel safer as a result of passenger groping, how about this story about a pilot whistleblower who video recorded what takes place on the tarmac as passengers upstairs have their junk tactility inspected - virtually no security at all. What did he get for his trouble? A visit from the Feds:

DHS SECRETARY: 'WE'RE WORKING 24/7, 364 DAYS A YEAR'

As if any of us needed another reason to question the competence of Janet Napolitano in the war against Islamic terror, she delivers one almost a year after telling Americans 'the system worked' when the Christmas Day bomber's underwear failed to explode as his plane descended into Detroit. In this exchange, Dianne Sawyer asks Napolitano to give Americans assurance that her Department will keep them safe during this season of heavy travel.

Her response? Freudian slip or not, assuring viewers that DHS is working hard 24/7, 364 days a year only helps to further the perception that it's ill-equipped to deal with the threats our nation faces. The worst part? She didn't even tell us which day her department is going to take a snooze so we could prepare. My follow-up question would be to ask her if travelers would get the added benefit of not having their junk touched on that day as well. I mean, it's the least the DHS can do, right?

My inclination would be to give the head of the DHS a pass for making such a mistake but Napolitano has already proven to be far too incompetent to hold the position.

VIDEO: 'DON'T TOUCH MY JUNK' REMIX

This is truly one minute plus of sheer awesomeness. Using his cellphone, would-be airline passenger John Tyner recorded his encounter with a TSA agent and is being quoted by enough people to have sufficient material for a song compilation. You can watch an listen below but I think Charles Krauthammer's contribution to this song may be the best one. Besides, he just may be right when he said that 'don't touch my junk' is the new 'don't tread on me.'

Enjoy via Daily Caller:

Here's the inspiration for the song.

LOOK WHO ACCOMPANIED OBAMA TO INDIA

The president and CEO of OSI Systems is a man named Deepak Chopra and he accompanied Barack Obama on his recent trip to India. Chopra's company also owns the company known as Rapiscan Systems. Rapiscan is the manufacturer of all those body scanners that are being installed in airports and causing such a ruckus with travelers. We recently learned that George Soros and Michael Chertoff both had a stake in Rapiscan's success.

Not THIS Deepak Chopra. Via Public Intelligence:
HAWTHORNE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIS), a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that Deepak Chopra, Chairman and CEO, was selected to accompany US President, Barack Obama, to Mumbai and attended the US India Business Entrepreneurship meeting, which was held by the US India Business Council (US IBC). The goal of the meeting was to promote further trade between US and India.

Deepak Chopra, OSI Systems President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, “I am honored to be selected to play a role in this very important cause. Currently the trade between US and India is only one tenth of the amount of trade between US and China. There is substantial opportunity to improve the trade relations with India for mutual economic gain.”
Go HERE for more on Chertoff's role in the proliferation of the body scanners.

The Washington Examiner has more on George Soros' investment in Rapiscan. As Rush Limbaugh pointed out yesterday, the likely thinking of the body scanner proponents was that people would prefer to be subjected to them instead of the increasingly intrusive pat-downs. However, that doesn't seem to be happening and is causing quite the headache for the Obama administration.

VIDEO: SNL MOCKS THE TSA

Saturday Night Live is officially on record as having chimed in on the Transportation Security Agency's new direction and it's quite the mocking referendum. The Obama Administration is intentionally stoking the American people. If you were unsure if Obama is destroying the Democratic party before, this new policy at the TSA may help to persuade you otherwise. When SNL goes after you like this, it can't be good.

Via MediaIte:

Remember when Obama mentioned his vision for a "Civilian National Security Force" back in July of 2008 and everyone has been wondering what he meant?

Perhaps we're seeing it right now... Remember though, the TSA is not the only agency under the DHS. Something tells me that the other agencies may start getting their marching orders soon.

SACRIFICE YOUR 4TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS FOR DIVERSITY

After September 11th, what you carried on your person was more closely scrutinized. If you had a sharp object - like a thick guitar pic, you'd never see it again. After the failed shoe-bomber was apprehended, you had to take off your shoes and have them scanned before setting foot on a plane. Then came the underwear bomber, who also failed in his attempt to bring down an airliner. Welcome to the consequences of his actions. YOU will now be required to either submit to full body scans or very intrusive 'pat downs' at the hands of TSA agents donning rubber gloves.

Compounding this insane dilemma further is the fact that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has petitioned the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in an effort to get an exemption from the new screening procedures for Muslim women. Adding to that already insane request - considering that every individual responsible for the increased intrusiveness at the hands to the TSA was Muslim - is the fact that DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano is actually contemplating giving into it.

The Washington Times explains both the problem and the solution perfectly. The problem is that this White House - and the last one for that matter - refuses to identify the real threat, which happens to be Islamic terrorists.
The Transportation Security Administration's demeaning new "enhanced pat-down" procedures are a direct result of the Obama administration's willful blindness to the threat from Islamic radicals. While better tools are available to keep air travelers safe, they would involve recognizing the threat for what it is, which is something the White House will never do.

El Al, Israel's national airline, employs a smarter approach. Any airline representing the state of Israel is a natural - some might say preeminent - target for terrorist attacks. Yet El Al has one of the best security records in the world and doesn't resort to wide-scale use of methods that would under other circumstances constitute sexual assault. The Israelis have achieved this track record of safety by employing sophisticated intelligence analysis which allows them to predict which travelers constitute a possible threat and which do not. Resources are then focused on the more probable threats with minimal intrusion on those who are likely not to be terrorists.
The Islamic groups that have declared war on western civilization are laughing at us and we still don't get it.

Former Arab Muslim terrorist Walid Shoebat travels constantly, speaking to audiences about his former religion and warning them of its agenda. He is actually suggesting that all Arabs - including himself - should be profiled.

Just to re-cap, here is the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
AMENDMENT IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Keep that in mind as you watch former TSA Director Mo McGowan (at the 2:30 mark), who says he understands concerns over the violation of fourth amendment rights but "we're going to have to do it."

GREAT NEWS: TSA NOMINEE WITHDRAWS

Erroll Southers likely would have been to the TSA what Eric Holder is to the Justice Department - an absolute nightmare for the United States of America. Once again, a good man in senator Jim DeMint stands up when it seems like martyrdom to do so. No way someone like Lindsey Graham or Susan Collins would have the same kind of courage. They'd likely see it as a loser and hope for a victory later on when it's more practical, hoping to use their caving in on that loser as capital.

Note to such people - standing on principle matters and DeMint gets it. He also got a victory when Southers pulled out. It may be time to add DeMint to the list of Davids out there like Roberto Micheletti, Vaclav Klaus, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio who actually know what standing up for what's right means.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:
In a statement, Erroll Southers said he was pulling out because his nomination had become a lightning rod for those with a political agenda. President Barack Obama tapped Southers, a former FBI agent, to lead the TSA in September but his confirmation has been blocked by Republican Sen. Jim DeMint, who says he was worried Southers would allow TSA employees to engage in collective bargaining with the government.

Questions have also been raised about a reprimand that Southers received for running background checks on his then-estranged wife's boyfriend two decades ago. Southers wrote a letter to lawmakers earlier this month acknowledging that he had given inconsistent answers to Congress on that issue.
For a small taste of why Erroll Southers would have been so dangerous, check out these short videos of him talking about our enemies.
