Video: Innocence of Muslims Producer denied bail

It appears that we may have more questions than answers. The man allegedly responsible for producing the anti-Muhammad film Innocence of Muslims, was arrested yesterday and told by a judge that he would be denied bail because he is a flight risk. The reason for his arrest? Violating the terms of his probation, which included not using an alias or a computer.

Via NBC 4 in Los Angeles:

The Cerritos man who many believe to be behind an anti-Muslim video that has inflamed the Islamic world was denied bail Thursday afternoon after a judge deemed him a flight risk.

Nakoula Besseley Nakoula remains in federal custody after being arrested hours earlier on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney's Office.

Nakoula's arrest was sought by officials of the United States Probation Office, spokesman Thom Mrozek said.

Here is where things get a little confusing. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was the man convicted in 2010 on charges related to a bank fraud scheme and violated the terms of his probation by using the internet and aliases.

Presumptively, that must necessarily mean that Nakoula was the guy who violated the terms of his probation, right? Well, in this news report, NBC 4 says his real name is Mark Bacile Yousef. Does that mean he gave an alias to the court back in 2010 or does it mean that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is not the guy who was arrested yesterday?

Occupy Oakland Flares up again; 300 Arrested

If there is one city in America that has been home to the Occupy movement's most petulant miscreants, it's Oakland. Again, former Obama green jobs czar and Occupy organizer Van Jones is from Oakland. He has a rather cozy relationship with Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), whose district includes Oakland; Lee has a rather cozy relationship with Valerie Jarrett, Obama's closest adviser. Until Americans begin to connect these dots, little to no accountability will take place. The liberal media certainly isn't doing the job.

Nonetheless, Occupy Oakland has just flared up again and has given the movement something to cheer about. With 300 arrests in Oakland all on the same day, the Occupy movement is now officially well over 6000 arrests nationwide.

Guess what?

They're so proud of it that they're tracking it.

ABC News reports that three officers were injured:

Police spokesman Jeff Thomason says most of the arrests came around 8 p.m. That's when police took about 100 protesters into custody as they marched through the city's downtown, with some entering a YMCA building.

About 20 demonstrators were arrested earlier in the afternoon, after police say they threw rocks, bottles and other objects at officers and tore down fencing.

Police say three officers were injured. Officers used tear gas and "flash" grenades on the protesters after they refused to leave.

Authorities were still tabulating the exact number of arrests late Saturday.

Again, these whackos like to portray themselves as victims. Do victims seek to add to their arrest totals while injuring police?

Police Herd Wall Street Protesters like Cattle, Arrest Hundreds

Two days ago, it was reported that the Occupy Wall St. protesters got lost when they tried to march on NYPD HQ. It looks like the Police got the best of the whack-a-doodle bunch again yesterday, when a few protesters broke away from the pack in an attempt to shut down the Brooklyn Bridge. Apparently, this flash of brilliance enticed others to join them. The police allowed the protesters to march on the bridge... for a while. That's because they were waiting for them farther down the bridge with orange netting and nylon handcuffs. The only thing missing was a border collie or two.

In a tense showdown above the East River, the police arrested more than 700 demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street protests who took to the roadway as they tried to cross the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The police said it was the marchers’ choice that led to the enforcement action.

“Protesters who used the Brooklyn Bridge walkway were not arrested,” Paul J. Browne, the chief spokesman for the New York Police Department, said. “Those who took over the Brooklyn-bound roadway, and impeded vehicle traffic, were arrested.”

But many protesters said they believed the police had tricked them, allowing them onto the bridge, and even escorting them partway across, only to trap them in orange netting after hundreds had entered.

“The cops watched and did nothing, indeed, seemed to guide us onto the roadway,” said Jesse A. Myerson, a media coordinator for Occupy Wall Street who marched but was not arrested.

Here is another account of how the police dealt with these mental / emotional juveniles, who don't even know why they're protesting:

Where the entrance to the bridge narrowed their path, some marchers, including organizers, stuck to the generally agreed-upon route and headed up onto the wooden walkway that runs between and about 15 feet above the bridge’s traffic lanes.

But about 20 others headed for the Brooklyn-bound roadway, said Christopher T. Dunn of the New York Civil Liberties Union, who accompanied the march. Some of them chanted “take the bridge.” They were met by a handful of high-level police supervisors, who blocked the way and announced repeatedly through bullhorns that the marchers were blocking the roadway and that if they continued to do so, they would be subject to arrest.

There were no physical barriers, though, and at one point, the marchers began walking up the roadway with the police commanders in front of them – seeming, from a distance, as if they were leading the way. The Chief of Department Joseph J. Esposito, and a horde of other white-shirted commanders, were among them.

After allowing the protesters to walk about a third of the way to Brooklyn, the police then cut the marchers off and surrounded them with orange nets on both sides, trapping hundreds of people, said Mr. Dunn. As protesters at times chanted “white shirts, white shirts,” officers began making arrests, at one point plunging briefly into the crowd to grab a man.

The police said that those arrested were taken to several police stations and were being charged with disorderly conduct, at a minimum.

Today, NYPD police are probably high-fiving each other, laughing their butts off.

Video: Man Arrested for Preaching at DMV

The title of this post doesn't do the video justice. It really is shocking to watch. Leaders of Calvary Chapel in Hemet, CA decided to take advantage of the multitude of people who stand out in front of the DMV every morning waiting for it to open. One man from the church began reading from the Bible and it didn't take long for a police officer to show up and arrest him for preaching to a 'captive audience.' Though the method used by the man reading the Bible may be questioned for its effectiveness, it seems the statute cited by the officer may only relate to impeding a business from functioning.

Here's a thought. Maybe if the DMV made even the slightest effort to become more efficient, people wouldn't feel like they had to get there early just to be the 20th person in line. If this man is guilty of preaching to a captive audience, the DMV is guilty of creating that audience.

Video: NYPD Arrests Man for Talking on Sidewalk

Believe it or not, the headline of this post is not misleading. This arrest is literally more absurd than arresting someone for dropping a biodegradable peanut shell in a field of grass. The video starts out with the NYPD issuing a citation to a man who was caught riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. Another man walks by the scene and jokes with the cyclist, saying that he's an adult and should know better than to ride his bike on the sidewalk - an obvious jibe directed at the cops through the cyclist. Clearly, the man was mocking the law but I don't think that's grounds for an arrest.

VIDEO: THIS IS WHO AL SHARPTON SHOULD BE DEFENDING

CBS affiliate in New York reported the story of a black man who, after entering his home, told his wife to call the police while he went to get his AK-47. He suspected MS-13 gang members were going to do harm to his family. Five gang members showed up shortly thereafter, according to the homeowner, George Grier. After daring him to use the gun, more gang members appeared. Grier fired four warning shots into the ground, sending the gang members away.

It's exactly the kind of second amendment story that makes you feel good, right? Uh, not quite. Grier was arrested and charged with a felony for firing his weapon. Quoting from his attorney, John Lewis:

“What he’s initially charged with – A D felony reckless endangerment — requires a depraved indifference to human life, creating a risk that someone’s going to die. Shooting into a lawn doesn’t create a risk of anybody dying,” Lewis said.

The best part? Grier had the gun legally and has no criminal record.

Something continues to be very wrong in America. Where's Al Sharpton?

Folks, welcome to the slippery slope. If you post a poster of Obama as the Joker (like the one below), you might be arrested if you do it in Houston. I don't know what Houston law is but this definitely seems a bit extreme.
