At its core, the premise of this convoluted logic is that the best way to increase production is to pay people not to produce. Here is the relevant quote:

After watching that nonsense, a Scripture passage came to mind.

1 FOR BEHOLD, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff [every kind of prop], the whole stay of bread and the whole stay of water,
