Video: Democrat says "We're not looking at the Constitution..." on Contraception Mandate

I'd say that this is unprecedented but it's really not. However, it does peel back another layer of the hidden Democratic agenda. Back in April of 2010, Congressman Phil Hare (D-IL) told Adam Sharp of Sharp Elbows that he "doesn't worry about the Constitution" during a town hall meeting at which he defended Obamacare.

Fast forward to just this week at another town hall. This time, the speaker is Rep. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) and the subject is the HHS mandate that says religious providers must offer insurance to its employees that covers contraception. While Obamacare was primarily about the Individual mandate relative to the commerce clause, this mandate has to do with the very first amendment to the constitution. When Hochul was called on it, she had the same response as Hare.

For grins, here is then Rep. Phil Hare in April of 2010:

Audio: American Judge implementing Sharia Law from the Bench

For all the Ron Pauliens who think the Islamic threat to America is overrated, it's time to take note. A Judge in Pennsylvania presided over a trial in which an atheist who dressed up as a "Muhammad zombie" during a Halloween parade was assaulted by an angry Muslim spectator. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania brought assault charges against the assailant, who thought it was against the law for anyone to do such a thing.

Those of us who live under the United States constitution know that is incorrect. Assaulting someone is against the law and freedom of expression is not.

That's not the worst part. The victim in this assault is a man named Ernest Perce. The Judge in the trial is a convert to Islam; his name is Mark Martin. Not only did Martin find for the defendant but he did so based solely on Sharia law. Additionally, Martin is now threatening to jail Perce for recording the audio of the proceedings and putting it on YouTube (below).

Stranger still is the fact that Perce got permission from Martin to make the recording!

Anyway, here is the audio of the proceedings, recorded by Perce. It is long but well worth it, particularly toward the end, when you hear the rationale for Martin's ruling. If you don't have time, Shoebat has a breakdown of some key times in the video where you can fast forward.

Just to give you an idea of what to expect, check out this quote from Martin, via Atlas Shrugs:
American Judge in American court (minute 29:50): "Our forefathers intended that we use the first amendment so that we could speak what's on our mind, not piss off other cultures..... Islam is not just a religion, it's their culture, their culture, the very essence, their very being. They pray five times a day, towards Mecca. To be a good Muslim before you die, you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you cannot because you are too ill, too elderly, whatever, you must make the attempt. Their greetings salum alaikum waliakum as-salm )as answered by voice), uh may god be with you. It is very common, their language, when they are speaking to each other, it is very common for them to say, uh allah willing, this will happen. It's they are so immersed in it. And what you've done is you've completey trashed their essence, their being. They find it very, very, very offensive. I am a Muslim. I find it very offensive ..... You are way outside your bounds of first amendment rights."
What say you, Ron Pauliens?

Ouch: Stephen Colbert Proxy-Circumcizes Dead Mormons

Tasteless? Yes. Relevant? Certainly. A foreshadowing of what to expect if Mitt Romney becomes the Republican nominee? Not only is it a foreshadowing but it's a small chip of ice from the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

It started with CNN delving into the Mormon practice of baptizing dead people by proxy, in which a living Mormon is baptized and simultaneously baptizes ten or so dead non-Mormons in an act of posthumous conversion. CNN made it news when it did several stories on the outrage of Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, who understandably had a problem with Holocaust victims appearing on the list.

Most recently, it was learned that Anne Frank appeared on the Mormon list. Here, Stephen Colbert gets quite down and dirty with the Mormon practice and brings out a Jewish intern to posthumously convert several dead Mormons to Judaism. Note during this clip that Colbert plays an excerpt from MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell referring to these proxy baptisms.

Anyone who supports a Romney nomination better wake up because he will be bludgeoned by this issue and he will lose not because of his liberal record, his flip-flops on abortion, his being pigeon-holed as part of the 1%, or RomneyCare. All of that will be dwarfed by what the liberal media will do to him over his religion.

Oh, and Romney has admitted to participating in these proxy, posthumous baptisms.

Question: Has anyone seen Colbert do anything remotely close to this when it comes to Islam?

Video: Newt Cow Tail vs. Piers Morgan Fly

Newt Gingrich's comments about the Qur'an burnings at Bagram by the U.S. Military got quite a bit of play yesterday primarily because it resonated so well with those of us who are fed up with A.) Rules of engagement and B.) the egregious double standard of who apologizes and who does not.

Here is Newt on CNN with Piers Morgan further enunciating his view. If Newt can continue talking like this, he is far more likely to get the support he saw in South Carolina. Each attempt by Morgan to trap Newt failed miserably.

Also, take note of Newt's reference to Col. Allen West. In the context of this exchange, West would make a very logical choice as a running mate for Gingrich.

Video: Romney, Michigan's Trees, and Two Cars

At a campaign stop in Detroit, in Romney's home state, the former Massachusetts Governor went a bit overboard in his attempt at ingratiating himself with Michiganders. If you find yourself inclined to stop watching after Romney speaks glowingly of the trees in Michigan all being "the right height," don't (though I still can't figure out where he was going with that, the closest I can come is an obscure Goldilocks metaphor, but I digress).

Romney then muses aloud about all of the American made cars he and his wife have owned and then, while going down the list, said that his wife "drives two Cadillacs."

Does she drive them both at once, Mitt? Doesn't make much sense for a candidate who is already fighting the 1% Wall Street corporate elitist label, does it?

Folks, Obama so desperately wants this man to be the nominee, it's not even up for debate but for some reason, the establishment continues to push him on American voters.
