Video: Paul Simon Performs 'Sound of Silence' at 9/11 Memorial

Watching this will leave you understanding why music is so powerful. This song was written decades ago but carried a completely new and different meaning at the 9/11 memorial; it was unmistakable. No politics, just a unity from the days after 9/11/01 at least partially rekindled on 9/11/11. There was something quite special about the 10th anniversary in light of world events as they stand today. There seemed to be an undercurrent of renewed resolve. This may be Paul Simon's best New York City, one song performance.
