Damaging 2002 Undercover Video: Romney bragging about getting Federal Funds for Olympics

Remember when the subject of a recent Republican presidential debate turned to Mitt Romney's use of federal funds to finance the Salt Lake City olympic games? Here is video presented by ABC News that was shot secretly by Democratic operatives in 2002. I'm not predicting that this will destroy Romney because a lot of things should have already but this is definitely a step or two below unflattering.

VIDEO: ED SCHULTZ SAYS REPUBLICANS = JANE FONDA

Where does one begin? Seriously. Whack job liberal Ed Schultz actually blames the Republicans for undermining Obama's effort to land the Olympic Games for Chicago and compares their doing so to what Jane Fonda did in Vietnam. I wonder how that comparison makes Vietnam veterans feel. Doesn't Schultz diminish their sacrifice by comparing the two?

And I wonder how Hanoi Jane feels about being thrown under the leftwing bus and turned into red meat for leftwing buzzards.

All that aside, this is a quintessential example of how badly the left hates losing, no matter what sport they're playing. They are utterly incapable of looking within and taking stock of themselves or their agenda. Hey Ed, maybe it was the fact that Chicago is the 2nd most corrupt city in America.

One thing I didn't hear Ed bring up was a report by a Danish newspaper, BERLINGSKE, which puts the blame squarely where it belongs - on Obama himself.

The explanations are many. The former Danish IOC member Kai Holm says to Berlingske that he believes that it is due to disrespect. Professor of sport history at the University of Copenhagen Hans Bonde suggests presidential arrival at the last minute and neglected personal lubricant of IOCs members.

At Chicago kicked out so early shows to me that Barack Obama does not understand the psychology of the IOC, said Hans Bonde.

There you have it. Straight from the mouth of a former IOC member. I don't know what on earth makes him think he's qualified to say such things. Doesn't he know that it's the Republicans' fault?

Expressing this view even further is none other than Congressman from Chicago, Jan Schakowsky (at the end of the clip), who actually points to Rush Limbaugh as the reason for Obama's failure.

Nothing quite like witnessing sheer disbelief in real time. This is absolutely priceless. The 2016 Chicago Olympics was supposed to be a foregone conclusion. The one-two punch of Michelle and Oprah in Copenhagen to seal the deal.

It was a NO LOSE situation!

Uh, not so much. The reaction of this anchor to the news reminded me of Shooter McGavin's reaction when Happy Gilmore won the gold jacket.

As Drudge reported this morning, this news report was only aired once. Why? Because it was unflattering to the president's home town of Chicago. What does it say about the state of things when the battle for the Olympics comes down to Chicago or Rio and Chicagoans want them to take place in Rio? That'd almost be like Bears fans rooting for the Packers at Soldier Field.

So what's the deal? This morning, Drudge reported:

A local TV station that reported on Chicagoans NOT wanting the Olympics has been told NOT to run the report again, insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT!

The Chicago Olympic Committee told FOX Chicago that its broadcast "would harm Chicago's chances" to be awarded the games.

The station's news director ordered staff to hold fire after the report aired once last Thursday morning, claims a source.

Chicago, Madrid, Tokyo and Rio are mounting strong bids for the honor to host in 2016.
The International Olympic Committee makes its decision on Friday. President Obama will lead the in-person push.

So who on earth would tell the local television station, WFLD not to air this report? Well, MICHELLE MALKIN provides some interesting context:

The president himself will now join cronies Valerie Jarrett and Michelle Obama to personally lobby in Copenhagen for Chicago’s bid.

On Tuesday, there will be a No Chicago Games protest reflecting the 84 percent opposition to the Olympics boondoggle.

Will they be accused of being an “angry mob,” too?

Hmmmmm.. So why would the citizens of Chicago be against the Olympics in their city while Barack and Michelle seem to be all for it? Is this a matter of 'follow the money'?
