CNN's Jack Cafferty asks if Fast and Furious Obama's 'Watergate'

Forget the fact that some of us were calling Fast and Furious Obama's Watergate (but with murder) months ago. We'll let CNN's Jack Cafferty slide just a bit because he actually brings up the issue at all. Mainstream media is at least taking baby steps in this scandal.

At any rate, h/t to Issa's press office for placing these clips in my inbox.

Here is Part 1

Here is Part 2

Video: Jay Carney Attempts to Explain why Taliban not our Enemy

This is the kind of thing that happens when an enemy isn't defined. The enemy is not identified as an enemy. During an interview with Newsweek, Vice President Joe Biden said the following:
"Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy."
During a White House press briefing, ABC's Jake Tapper called Jay Carney on that particular Biden quote and gave Carney the opportunity to walk it back. He did not. The response was absurd and is proof positive that our enemy should have been identified long ago as the Muslim Brotherhood and any group that aids or abets. That would include the Taliban.

Report: Troops Fleeing from Assad in Large Numbers

Whether the left wing whackos want to admit it or not, they have espoused positions and supported movements that have resulted in the ceding of the entire North African region to Islamists. There is significant evidence that Iraq has already fallen to Iranian dominance. Now, if this latest report about troops fleeing Assad is correct, Syria is quite likely the next country to fall and could be the nexus for Turkish / Iranian dominance in the region.

Via Haaretz:
More than 10,000 soldiers have deserted the Syrian army, sources say, with as many as half the conscripts not reporting in the last three call-ups.

According to Western intelligence agencies, even though the top brass is still loyal to President Bashar Assad, lower-level officers are deserting in large numbers, and in some cases, whole units have deserted en masse.

The army is considered the main factor safeguarding Assad's regime, after mass protests began in the south in March and spread throughout the country, inspired by the demonstrations elsewhere in the Arab world.

On Tuesday, at least 73 people were killed in Syria in clashes between the army and opposition, most of them in Homs in the west and Idlib in the northwest. The 73 dead added to the 100 who were killed on Monday, among them 14 soldiers ambushed by opposition forces, human rights groups said.

The groups added that Assad's forces were transferring wounded opposition activists from hospitals to army bases to prevent them from testifying to Arab League observers expected to arrive under a deal struck on Monday.
These developments bolster the predictive claims made by Israel's Defense Minister:
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak predicted this month that the Syrian regime would collapse within weeks. Barak said it was impossible to know who would rule Syria in the future, but in any case it would be a blow to the alliance between Iran and Lebanese Shi'ite group Hezbollah.

Another sign of the Syrian regime's frailty is Hamas' decision to move its headquarters from Damascus, as the Palestinian group that runs the Gaza Strip prepares for a possible post-Assad era.
Geographically, Iran may be in a better position to rule Syria, which would go a long way in explaining Hamas - an extension of the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood - closing up shop in Syria. Then again, much of the resistance in Syria supports the Brotherhood so who ultimately takes control there is clearly not as easy to determine as say, Egypt or the other North African countries, which are lining up behind the Brotherhood.

1991 Video: Ron Paul Praises Soviet Union, Disses Ronald Reagan

This clip makes the claim by Ron Paul earlier this year that he would consider appointing Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) caucus member, Dennis Kucinich, to his cabinet a bit more significant. Just after the 2:00 mark, Paul takes a shot at Reagan and says there is no difference between parties. Lost on Paul, apparently, was the fact that Reagan's party was in the minority in Congress.

He also says there would be no difference between George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis.

Then, at about the 5:20 mark, Paul praises the 'Soviet Union' because they 'reject central planning.'

Video: Ron Paul's Hope and Change

Three years ago, clear-thinking Americans watched with aghast amazement as half of the country seemed to buy in to the cult of Obama. He was to be 'The One.' Here is evidence that Ron Paul has generated a very similar following, in the form of his own political ad.

The worst part?

Ron Paul 'approves this message.'

DOJ Indicts Gun Store Owner for Doing what ATF did

The Justice Department has admitted that its ATF instructed gun store owners to sell weapons to straw purchasers so those weapons could go, unchecked into Mexico. This is criminal behavior on the part of someone at ATF. The DOJ continues to stonewall when it comes to identifying who authorized the program.

Meanwhile, the DOJ has just indicted a gun store owner for doing exactly what the ATF instructed multiple gun store owners to do - sell guns to straw purchasers.

Via Washington Examiner:
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a complaint requesting "forfeiture of property" belonging to a New Mexico gun dealer charged with knowingly selling weapons to straw purchasers operating on behalf of Mexican drug cartels. This crime occurred during the same time frame in which DOJ conducted its own gunwalking scheme, Operation Fast and Furious, encouraging other gun dealers to do exactly the same thing.
Rick Reese of New Deal Shooting Sports, according to DOJ, "sold firearms and ammunition to individuals, knowing that these firearms and the ammunition were being illegally sent to Mexico." DOJ claims that "the Reeses sold firearms and ammunition to confidential sources who were working with law enforcement and to undercover law enforcement agents posing as straw purchasers, believing that the confidential sources and agents intended to illegally smuggle the firearms and ammunition to Mexico."
It's not yet known if this particular gun dealer participated in Fast and Furious.

In either case, this smacks of an arrogantly defiant nose-thumbing from Holder's Justice Department, directed at Darrell Issa's Oversight Committee, as well as the dozens of congressmen who have called for Holder's resignation.
