William Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection makes an excellent point relative to Hawaii's Democrat Governor, Neil Abercrombie coming out to debunk the 'Birthers' by seeking to actually provide them with further evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii. The liberal media spin is what is so incredible here. Ain't it funny how Abercrombie - by doing exactly what the 'Birthers' have been asking for - is not a 'Birther' but instead someone who will shut them up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't the Birthers been asking to be silenced with such information? This really is an amazing display of raw partisanship.

Via the New York Times:
HONOLULU — Gov. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, who befriended President Obama’s parents when they were university students here, has been in office for less than three weeks. But he is so incensed over “birthers” — the conspiracy theorists who assert that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya and was thus not eligible to become president — that he is seeking ways to change state policy to allow him to release additional proof that the president was born in Honolulu in 1961.

“It’s an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father; they were my friends, and I have an emotional interest in that,” Governor Abercrombie said in a telephone interview late Thursday. “It’s an emotional insult. It is disrespectful to the president; it is disrespectful to the office.”

The governor, a Democrat and former congressman, said he has initiated conversations with the state’s attorney general and the chief of its Health Department about how he can release more explicit documentation of Mr. Obama’s birth on Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital. He said he has done so of his own accord, without consulting the White House, which declined to comment.
So because Abercrombie's motives are to silence the 'Birthers' he himself is NOT one even though he is actually doing exactly what they want done.

Russians who fled their native country for the United States apparently see too many similarities between the Democrat Party and the governing philosophy of the leaders they escaped from. A consequence seems to be that those immigrants are choosing to align with the Republican Party principles of smaller government and meritocracy, where those who work hardest and smartest get rewarded most. If only the Republican establishment would see it too....

Via SiLive:
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Many Russian immigrants to the "red borough" of Staten Island are flocking to the Republican Party, saying that the national Democrats' "socialistic" policies remind them too much of the top-down oligarchy they fled in their native land.

With many of the borough's Russian arrivees already owning businesses and active in civic organizations, their muscle could help the Island GOP solidify electoral gains made this year, when the party took back congressional and Assembly seats.

Businessman Arkadiy Fridman said that the newly formed Citizens Magazine Business Club, a confederation of more than 50 Russian-owned businesses here and in Brooklyn, has aligned itself with the Molinari Republican Club (MRC) in an effort to increase the Russian community's political and economic clout.
In light of the Arizona Law SB 1070 that Obama resents so much, wouldn't it be nice to know his thoughts on this little trend?

At the end of the article, a NY State Senator is quoted as dismissing the connection between the Democrat Party and Communism as 'absurd.' Someone needs to give her the list of 70 members of the U.S. congress who are registered Socialists.

After reading Matthew Vadum's in-depth analysis of how the George Soros machine operates, it becomes quite easy to see why his propaganda arm - Media Matters - doesn't argue with facts to make its point; they don't have any to back up their claims. Instead, they remain constantly on offense and use any means to do so. Lies, smears, character assassinations, and anything else you can think of in order to distract people from the truth.

Case in point was when Media Matters senior fellow Eric Boehlert blamed Glenn Beck for causing a man to snap before attempting to storm the George Soros backed Tides Foundation. Yet, when Clay Duke shot up a Florida School Board meeting before taking his own life, had listed Media Matters as one of his favorite websites, Boehlert lost the argument using his own logic. The difference is that Beck wouldn't have blamed Duke's rampage on Media Matters had that happened first. In fact, Beck has gone out of his way to pin the actions of crazy nuts on the nuts themselves.

Via World Net Daily:
Vadum's report documents how for a long time Soros' has been buying up media properties and funding "left-leaning" websites and groups, many of which try to keep their ties hidden.

Vadum cited Paul Steiger of Pro Publica, who told Investor's Business Daily in 2009, "An unmitigated canard … one that has a goofy way of creeping into discourse from a variety of people who dislike something we have written – is that George Soros, the global billionaire, is behind our coverage. Soros has never given us a penny."

However, Vadum's report noted that Pro Publica's website acknowledged that Soros' Open Society Foundation is a donor.

The report also documents the extensive connections between Soros at the "fake media watchdog, Media Matters for America," to which Soros recently donated $1 million.

Media Matters has a reputation, the report said, of having writers who "assiduously monitor Rush Limbaugh's broadcasts, seethe over Andrew Breitbart's latest expose, turn purple over Bill O'Reilly's latest on-air editorial."
The Report is available before its official release via Capital Research Center.
