Nonetheless, that's what many people are doing according to the LA Times blog:
Do you think then maybe by a year from now some Democratic Party bigwigs and money people might be whispering to each other that this arrogant Illinois guy is pulling a Jimmy Carter, constructing a disastrous....Of course the person being referenced as someone who understands how to implement socialist, big government policies better than Obama himself is Hillary Clinton. You know, the one who couldn't get government run health care passed. Conservatives often shake their heads at proponents of socialism because throughout history, it's an experiment that has failed time and time and time and time again. Welcome to the quintessential case study into that phenomenon - changing your support from Barack Obama and placing it behind Hillary Clinton.
...single term that teed up 12 straight years of Republican White House rule?
Well, it turns out, there is another Democrat -- another former senator, in fact -- hanging around now free of political tussles with an enhanced resume burnished on the world stage, thanks to Obama himself.
Barack cut his political teeth in Chicago and became a student of Saul Alinsky, using the latter's radical tactics as a Community Organizer and now implementing them from the White House. Hillary Clinton was born in Chicago and deeply admired Alinsky as well. Unlike the younger Obama, Hillary was able to interview Alinsky - doing so for her senior thesis in 1969 at Wellesley College:
In 1969 she wrote her 92-page senior thesis on the theories of radical Chicago organizer Saul Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals (1971) and Reveille for Radicals (1947). A great admirer of Alinsky's ruthless activist tactics, Hillary personally interviewed the famed author for her project. She concluded her thesis by stating: "Alinsky is regarded by many as the proponent of a dangerous socio/political philosophy. As such, he has been feared -- just as Eugene Debs [the five-time Socialist Party candidate for U.S. President] or Walt Whitman or Martin Luther King has been feared, because each embraced the most radical of political faiths -- democracy."Even then, the far left Hillary Clinton helped to get the ball rolling with respect to distorting Martin Luther King's legacy, which should have included the fact that he was a Republican. However, the left co-opted that legacy and exploited it to their own big government ends.
But I digress... Hillary also revered groups tied to Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), once home to Bill Ayers and the founder of ACORN:
Rodham was deeply influenced by a 1966 article titled "Change or Containment" that appeared in Motive, a magazine for college-age Methodists. Authored by the Marxist/Maoist theoretician Carl Oglesby, who was a leader of the radical Students for a Democratic Society, this piece defended Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro, and Maoist tactics of violence.Let's not forget too how Obama responded in a debate with Hillary when the latter challenged him on his relationship with Bill Ayers - by pointing to Hillary's husband Bill pardoning two of the Weather Underground's members.
Recently, George Soros - the man who threw his entire support behind Obama, said he's not satisfied with his choice. Prior to Obama bursting on the national scene in 2004 and announcing his run for president in early 2007, it was widely believed that Hillary was destined to be receiving all that support Soros ultimately gave to Obama. One can't help but wonder of Soros is second-guessing himself as well.
