Video: Issa Subpoenas ATF after Missed Deadline on Project Gunwalking Case

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) doesn't appear to be playing around. On March 16th, he sent a letter to ATF Director Kenneth Melson requesting documents and information relative to the Project Gunrunner case in which guns were allowed to 'walk' into Mexico. Two of those guns were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry last December. The deadline was March 30th at 5pm est. It took Issa's office less than 48 hours to issue the ATF a subpoena for the documents. His website has posted a list of the subpoenaed documents as well as a video of Issa explaining it.

Here is the video:

Keep in mind that in an earlier interview with CBS News's Sharyl Attkisson, Issa hinted that this scandal may reach to the highest levels of the Justice Department. Check out this interview between Attkisson and ATF's lead agent in Mexico, Darren Gil. Note that he says he was told by his supervisor that the head of both ATF and DOJ were aware of it - that would be Melson and Eric Holder.

Here is the list of documents Issa's office has subpoenaed:
1. Documents and communications relating to the genesis of Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious, and any memoranda or reports involving any changes to either program at or near the time of the release of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General report about Project Gunrunner in November 2010.
2. Documents and communications relating to individuals responsible for authorizing the decision to "walk" guns to Mexico in order to follow them and capture a "bigger fish."
3. Documents and communications relating to any investigations conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) or any other DOJ component following the fatal shooting of Agent Brian Terry, including information pertaining to two guns found at the crime scene that may have been connected to Project Gunrunner.
4. Documents and communications relating to any weapons recovered at the crime scene or during the investigation into the death of Agent Brian Terry.
5. Documents and communications between ATF and the Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) who sold weapons to Jaime Avila, including any Report of Investigation (ROI) or other records relating to a December 17, 2009 meeting "to discuss his role as an FFL during this investigation."
6. A copy of the presentation, approximately 200 pages long, that the Group 7 Supervisor made to officials at ATF headquarters in the spring of 2010.
7. Documents and communications relating to Operation Fast and Furious between and among ATF headquarters and Special Agent in Charge William D. Newell, Assistant Special Agents in Charge Jim Needles and George Gillette, Group Supervisor David Voth, or any Case Agent from November 1, 2009 to the present. The response to this component of the subpoena shall include a memorandum, approximately 30 pages long, from SAC Newell to ATF headquarters following the arrest of Jaime Avila and the death of Agent Brian Terry.
8. Documents and communications relating to complaints or objections by ATF agents about: (1) encouraging, sanctioning, or otherwise allowing FFLs to sell firearms to known or suspected straw buyers, (2) failure to maintain surveillance on known or suspected straw buyers, (3) failure to maintain operational control over weapons purchased by known or suspected straw buyers, or (4) letting known or suspected straw buyers with American guns enter Mexico.
During his interview with Univision's Jorge Ramos, Obama said that neither he nor Holder knew about Operation Fast & Furious. If Holder is found to have known, it will only cause even more suspicion about what Obama knew and when he knew it.

Video: Trump's Message is Resonating Big Time

Love him or hate him, Donald Trump's words are resonating in a big way with the Tea Party. He got more traction than anyone prior to him when he demanded Obama present his Birth Certificate. He's also saying what many Americans have been demanding from a leader for years. China is a threat to the United States but no one has put forth a plan of how to deal with it. To his credit, Trump has done so. Iraq? The cost of the war since 2003 has been over $1 Trillion. Trump's solution? Stay there and pay down the debt with the oil we rightfully secured.

The alternative would be to leave with a $1 Trillion debt and watch Iran take control of the oil. Trump has been getting a lot of time on O'Reilly's show this week but this excerpt may be the best so far. I've got some issues with Trump but couldn't agree more with his arguments in this exchange.

ATF Ignores Deadline on Project Gunwalker Documents

On March 16th, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter to ATF Director Kenneth Melson requesting documents related to the Operation Fast & Furious program that allowed guns to be purchased and then 'walked' into Mexico. The deadline given by Issa was March 30th at 5pm est. That deadline came and went. I spoke to Issa spokesman Seamus Kraft yesterday and he confirmed this.

Via the Daily Caller:
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) snubbed Rep. Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, on his Wednesday deadline for documents on the Project Gunrunner program and, specifically, Operation Fast and Furious, The Daily Caller has learned.

A spokesman for the committee told TheDC that ATF missed the deadline to produce documents on the operation that allowed gun smugglers to sell American guns to Mexican drug cartels. ATF was allowing the weapons to cross the border in efforts to track the illegal gun and drug markets using serial numbers and ballistics information from the American-sold guns – after people were killed or the guns were shot.
Two of the guns allowed to 'walk' were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry last December.

The irony of this scandal cannot be sufficiently underscored as Project Gunrunner was created with the specific purpose of preventing guns from going into Mexico. Operation Fast & Furious was created under the Project Gunrunner umbrella to do just the opposite.

Farrakhan Continues Defending Gadhafi, Railing on Obama

If there is anyone the Obama administration has angered most over its attacks on Libya, it's Louis Farrakhan and New Black Panther Party leader Malik Zulu Shabazz. Both see Farrakhan as someone who supports whatever larger agenda they may have. They clearly view Obama's actions there as some sort of betrayal and neither man is happy about it. Farrakhan fired the first salvo on a radio interview last month and is at it again.

Via Chicago Breaking News:
Warning that destruction could be on America's doorstep because it oppresses “God's chosen people,” Minister Louis Farrakhan, the controversial Nation of Islam leader, defended Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi today, calling the U.S. action in Libya hypocrisy.

Speaking from the pulpit of Chicago's Mosque Maryam, the Nation of Islam's international headquarters, purchased 40 years ago with a $3 million loan from Gadhafi, Farrakhan blamed demons for altering President Barack Obama's moral conscience and driving the assault on Gadhafi, who he calls a brother.
An old and reliable adage goes something like this:
Follow the money.
Gadhafi has been a gravy train for Farrakhan for years and the Obama administration dries a little bit more of it up with each missile strike. Interestingly, however, while Farrakhan is angry with Obama, he still finds some way to blame the Jews. It's really quite fascinating:
Farrakhan cautioned Obama that he was being used as a pawn to oppress his own people in Africa. He insisted several times that Jews controlled the media and pressured Obama to take so-called humanitarian action in Libya, but not in other places such as the Gaza Strip.

“The stupid mistake we make is assuming the president is the supreme power,” Farrakhan said. “The mad dogs are growling and grinding in Washington, D.C.,” referring to one of Gadhafi's nicknames, “Mad Dog of the Middle East.”
This is what we call a flawed paradigm boys and girls. The notion that Obama is being controlled by the Jews is one for the ages. Lost on Farrakhan is that if anyone has influence on Obama, it's the Muslim Brotherhood, which is greatly supporting the rebels. The truth is that Farrakhan and Shabazz have a dream for Africa that includes Gadhafi's continued support. By removing Gadhafi from power, Barack Obama - via the Jews of course - will be responsible for shattering that dream.
