VIDEO: THE GOVERNMENT CAN

I am not a big fan of parodies so when one comes along that I decide to post, it's darn good. Superb! This one from Tim Hawkins. My favorite line? "They mix it up with lies and make it all taste good. The Government. The Government can."

Maybe he's overstating it by saying the government can tax the sunrise but relax, things take time.

VIDEO: MARK LLOYD PRAISES CPUSA MEMBER

Last week, we saw video of newly appointed FCC Diversity Czar Mark Lloyd praising the rise of Hugo Chavez. Now we have video of Lloyd praising Paul Robeson, member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) while deriding Joe McCarthy (as time goes by, McCarthy is looking to be vindicated more and more).

Cliff Kincaid over at ACCURACY IN MEDIA peels away another layer of the onion with his LATEST PIECE:
While Robeson deserved praise for his artistic talents, there is no excuse at this late date for ignorance about Robeson's real record not only as a secret member of the Communist Party USA but as an apologist for communist tyranny. Lloyd's comments suggest that he would have preferred that the media not make an issue of Robeson's involvement in an international movement that has cost the lives of more than 100 million people.
This is absolutely chilling when one takes into account that Lloyd is calling for policies that will, in effect, bankrupt private broadcasters by requiring them to double their operating expenses in the form of fees to support public broadcasting. Couple that with Obama's Internet czar Cass Sunstein calling for increased regulation of the interenet and a new bill that would give Obama the authority to shut down the internet during an emergency and you have a witch's brew of censorship with the U.S. Constitution as kindling.

Here's the unbelievable video of Lloyd in 2005. While his extoling Robeson is bad for sure, I found this quote at the 2:47 mark about somes up my problems with Lloyd (also the name of the bartender in Stephen King's, "The Shining):
"I argue that the answer to bad speech is not censorship but better speech."
Frankly, if that statement is meant to convey that the arena of ideas should win the day, fine. However, it's obvious after watching this video that Lloyd has a different interpetation. This guy is nuts. Period.

As Kincaid points out, indications are that Lloyd wants to take a page out of the playbook of Hugo Chavez when implementing policy here in the United States:
At a 2008 "media reform" conference sponsored by the George Soros-funded Free Press organization, Lloyd declared that the Marxist revolution in Venezuela under Chavez was "incredible" and "dramatic" but that the "property owners and the folks who were then controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled" against the would-be dictator and supported a coup against him. However, Lloyd said that Chavez wised up and "then started to take the media seriously..."
Did I mention that according to Rasmussen, approximately 30% of the American people strongly approve of the job Obama is doing?

Keeping in mind that Lloyd's strategy involves creating a situation in which private broadcasters go out of business because they can't afford the FCC's fees, what is the logical outcome? Answer: A broadcast entity is then made available to the government through attrition.
It is apparent that Chavez is using the government to force private companies out of the media business and restrict and investigate the remaining independent journalists. This is a process that apparently meets with the approval of "progressives" such as Mark Lloyd in the U.S.
Who'd have ever imagined that the FCC would one day decide to follow a model set by that of a tinpot dictator in Venezuela.

Just how important is YOUR freedom of speech?

DANGER Will Robinson. DANGER.

VIDEO: ROBERT GIBBS DIDN'T GET THE MEMO

On August 6th, the Washington Times reported that the White House was putting restrictions on verbiage relative to who the United States is actually at war with. Words and terms not allowed? "Jihadist", "Global war", and "War on Terrorism" for starters.

The TIMES reported:
"The President does not describe this as a 'war on terrorism,'" said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a "new way of seeing" the fight against terrorism.

The only terminology that Mr. Brennan said the administration is using is that the U.S. is "at war with al Qaeda."

"We are at war with al Qaeda," he said. "We are at war with its violent extremist allies who seek to carry on al Qaeda's murderous agenda."
Pop the corks, right?

Not so fast. White House Press Secretary and record holder of the number of times any human being has ever uttered the verbal pause known as, "Uhmmm", Robert Gibbs has apparently not gotten the memo.

On Monday, August 31st, he referred to the "War on Terror" in the present tense.

CLICK HERE for the video of Gibbs' erroneous reference.

Gibbs' gaffe aside, if we are no longer waging a war on terror, should we not look at gutting DHS, which was formed in response to Islamic terror attacks?

I direct you to NEWT GINGRICH'S PIECE calling for Obama to fire Eric Holder (I know it seems like I'm changing subjects but I'm not). Note the implication of what Gingrich says here:
We know from long experience, of course, that special prosecutors in Washington quickly become self-justifying. To rationalize their existence, they must find people to prosecute, and find they do.
Newt was talking about giving special prosecutors the green light when there's no clear target.

Think about the DHS and the implications of this reality in that department. If the Obama administration is now telling the DHS there are no Jihadists or Global War (let alone Islamist enemies), aren't they going to seek to justify their own existence.

Keeping the DHS at its current strength while pushing our actual enemies further into obscurity is a very bad move that benefits our enemies and may cause our own DHS to start justifying its existence by going after those it was created to protect.

It is time to start identifying our enemies now.

HILLARY FILM GOES TO SUPREME COURT

BE SURE TO SEE THE VIDEOS AT BOTTOM OF THIS POST. On September 9th, the U.S. Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments surrounding a documentary that was made about Hillary Clinton in 2008. At the heart of the issue is the extent to which corporations should be permitted to financially support or oppose candidates.

A very interesting element to this case is the alliance of the National Rifle Association and the ACLU, who both support the makers of the film. Quoting the New York Times:
The American Civil Liberties Union and its usual allies are on opposite sides, with the civil rights group fighting shoulder to shoulder with the National Rifle Association to support the corporation that made the film.
The ACLU appears to be the lone liberal group that has jumped sides.
Most of the rest of the liberal establishment is on the other side, saying that allowing corporate money to flood the airwaves would pollute and corrupt political discourse.
This case is making its way to the Supreme Court via Re-argument, which is extremely rare. According to the Times, the case Citizens United (makers of the film) is seeking to have overturned is AUSTIN v. MICHIGAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

Apparently, the answer to a hypothetical question was given by a government attorney at an earlier Supreme Court hearing and is being looked at as a possible reason for the SCOTUS hearing this case on the basis of re-argument:
At the first Supreme Court argument in March, a government lawyer, answering a hypothetical question, said the government could also make it a crime to distribute books advocating the election or defeat of political candidates so long as they were paid for by corporations and not their political action committees.
Understandably, when a lawyer advocates the banning of books, it is likely to raise eyebrows (which it did).

In an unbelievable admission, a man on the regulatory side of this issue admitted that he thought books could be banned, but only after being pressed on the issue:
In an interview, Mr. Wertheimer seemed reluctant to answer questions about the government regulation of books. Pressed, Mr. Wertheimer finally said, “A campaign document in the form of a book can be banned.”
Those pesky facts. The left's positions are always so untenable that they would prefer not to reveal them. However, when they do, it's like the unmasking of a hideous reality. This isn't about leveling the playing field anyway. It's about keeping it uneven. George Soros has his mits in so many front groups that the left is able to promote its candidates without repurcussion.

Here is the entire NEW YORK TIMES piece.

Another interesting side note to this story involves one of the people who appeared in the film. His name is Peter Paul, whose experiences with the Clintons (Hillary in particular) were chronicled in his film called, "Hillary Uncensored", the contents of which included home made video footage recorded by Paul. The trailer for the film garnered more than 10 million views between Google and YouTube.

Here is the trailer:

Here is a video of the polygraph test Peter Paul took that appeared in Hillary: The Movie. He passed with flying colors. Fast forward to the 1:52 mark to see the administering of the test.

VAN JONES MANIFESTO SCRUBBED FROM WEB

It would appear that Obama's Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, is either not proud of his work from 2004 or has something to hide. Aaron Klein at WND is reporting that a group that Jones led in the 1990's (STORM), published a manifesto in 2004 that has since been scrubbed from the internet.

As Klein Points out, the Manifesto most certainly leans toward hardline communist beliefs:
"We agreed with Lenin's analysis of the state and the party," reads the manifesto. "And we found inspiration in the revolutionary strategies developed by Third World revolutionaries like Mao Tse-tung and Amilcar Cabral."
It has been confirmed that Jones named his son after Cabral as well. I also found it extremely interesting that in light of this document being scrubbed, Cabral is quoted on the "scrubbed" document's 3rd page as saying:
Hide nothing from the masses of the people. Tell no lies. Expose lies wherever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories.
Hmmmm. So how does that square with STORM'S Communist Manifesto being pulled from the internet?

Quintessential communism. Ends justify means. Lies and deceit. When those lies are exposed, communists don't try to defend them. They deny them, hide them, or ridicule their accusers much the same way Saul Alinsky advocated in Rules for Radicals #5, which says:

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

On page 15 of STORM'S manifesto discusses its Political Education Committee 411, which was formed in 1998. Here are some excerpts from that portion of the document:
411 was important in collectivizing STORM's commitment to Marxist politics.
We began with Marxist "basics," laying a foundation on which to build an understanding of Third World communism.
Later sessions covered more "contemporary" issues, including Marxist feminism, transgender liberation, and the Palestinian liberation struggle.
There's plenty more 'eye-popping' prose in this authorless document. Speaking of this manifesto being authorless, check out the screen shot of its, "Who Wrote This Document" explanation on page 3. Note how they used three parapraphs to identify NO INDIVIDUAL. Here's a link to the ARCHIVED COPY provided by Klein.

HONDURAS: OSCAR ARIAS NOT AS ADVERTISED?

When Manuel Zelaya was removed from power on June 28th, he was deported to Costa Rica. Since then, Costa Rican president Oscar Arias has been tasked with moderating an agreement. Juan Carlos Hidalgo at The Cato Institute now provides legitimate concerns that Arias was attempting to pull the same stunt Zelaya did:
President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica has joined the trend in Latin America of calling for a new constitution that would expand executive powers and get rid of “unnecessary checks” on the president’s authority. Although Arias has less than 9 months left in office and can’t run for reelection, his brother and current minister of the presidency — a primer minister of sorts — has openly said he’s interested in running for president in 2014. A new constitution with expanded executive powers would fit him just fine.
Gee, anyone wondering if Arias is taking notes of all Micheletti's moves out of self interest?

Apparently, Costa Rica's leading newspaper, La NaciĆ³n has some concerns as well:
(La Nacion) said that the idea of dismantling the checks and balances on executive power sounds like an effort to create an “imperial presidency.”
Arias also called out the media as being “corporations interested in making a profit” that don’t necessarily pursue the “public good.”

You know, Roberto Micheletti appears to be smoking out characters he never intended to be exposed. The truth is a powerful weapon when you insist on following it without fear.

Micheletti continues to get the better of Zelaya, who long ago unmasked himself as the man he was accused of being. Now, it appears that an unintended consequence of Micheletti holding to the line is that Oscar Arias may be getting exposed as well.

Time will tell.

VIDEO: MARXIST IN CONGRESS

You know, there was a time when that headline would have been a big deal. Not anymore. Nonetheless, it is pretty shocking to see Democrat Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) actually extol the virtues of communism while praising Fidel Castro as a great leader and attorney.

Looks like we have quite a few despicable people in both houses of congress that need to be jetisoned in 2010 while being held accountable and watched closely until then.

Disgusting...

VIDEO: TEA PARTY CRASHER FACES TASER

Zack Lyde attempted to crash a Tea Party in Brunswick, GA. As he got more belligerent, cops grew increasingly more interested in his intentions. Shortly after erupting with into a childish outburst, Zack Lyde became 'Zack Lyde Down' when staring at the prospect of being tased.

Here's the video from a local television news report.

You can hear the cop in this video from CNN.. "You will NOT do this crap out here in the middle of the street......not in the city of Brunswick!"

I LOVE IT! By the way, CNN reportedly referred to Zack Lyed Down as a "Minister".

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA HITS NEW LOW

Far be it from me to attempt to interpret Rasmussen's poll results (he can do just fine on his own) but I can't help myself. It's widely accepted that polling lags reality by about three days. That means today's results actually gauge public sentiment from Thursday.

Obama hitting a new high in the STRONGLY DISAPPROVE category at 42% (his previous high was 41%). His presidential approval index is not good either at -10. The timing of Obama reaching new undesirous lows would seem to coincide with public opinion forming around the decision to allow prosecutors to target the CIA.

Just a hunch but that decision seemed to to more harm than good when it comes to public opinion.

HONDURAS UPDATE: ZELAYA REJECTS OFFER

Eduardo commented on my earlier post that Zelaya has rejected Micheletti's offer allowing him to return to Honduras in exchange for Micheletti stepping down and Zelaya not being reinstated. Not only has Zelaya rejected the offer but so has the OAS and if reports are correct, the United States may end up officially declaring Zelaya's removal a "coup d'etat", which would lead to the suspension of $215 million in aid.

The AP HAS REPORTED that the deal is in fact dead because Zelaya refuses to accept its conditions.

Micheletti has been schooling Zelaya ever since the latter was removed from power but he's consequently also been punking Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, and the Castro brothers by extension. In fact, the longer this goes on, the more foolish Obama looks because of his support for Zelaya's reinstatement.

However, this offer by Micheletti may trump everything he's done so far. It shows him as willing to cede power on the condition that Zelaya not insist on being reinstated as president. Considering how long Zelaya would be in office if he was reinstated (a few months), it makes NO SENSE for him to decline this offer unless he intended to trash his country's Constitution by attempting to pull something akin to what his buddy Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. In particular, as was charged, using a referendum to become president for life.

By turning this offer down, Zelaya has unmasked himself for what he is and Micheletti can deliver another big fat, 'I told you so' to the rest of the world.

Initially, it looked like the continued U.S., O.A.S., and U.N. pressure was starting to wear on Micheletti by his offering this compromise but this may be his biggest victory in the standoff yet because of how it exposes Zelaya as the power-hungry would-be dictator he's accused of being.

Their is courage on display in Honduras that is truly amazing.

The best way to defeat evil is to get it to unmask itself.

Roberto Micheletti may just be a genius.

VIDEO: COP SAYS AMERICA NO MORE

My bottom jaw is still down and resting on my keyboard so please excuse any misspellings. A protester outside the town hall of U.S. Representative Jim Moran (D-VA) at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA is told by a cop that he no longer lives in America. That's not all. There's plenty more. This guy appears to have been overcome by spores and now has Obama-fever.

DATELILNE: Reston, VA - August 25th, 2009

A man holding an Obama-as-the-Joker poster similiar to this one was ordered by Police Officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. to take it down. The best reason given as to why this one had to be taken down while others could remain up was that this particular poster had a "picture" on it. Well, 65% of all communication is visual so I can see why Officer Cheeks may be offended by an image rather than words but that still doesn't give him the right to act like he's working for a banana republic.

Among the unbelievable quotes are:
"My Job said it can't be here so I'm doing my job."
Or how about Cheeks' explanation for why this particular poster can't be up but others can:
"You got this with a picture. That's the difference. This got a picture on it. That don't have a picture on it."
Or this:
"Sir, if you put the picture up, you will be charged with trespassing and you will have to go."
Lastly, when the poster holder claims, "but this is America", Cheeks says,
"It ain't no more, OK?"
See for yourselves..

Take note of the third party in this video who tries to help the cop out by saying that schools have different first Amendment rights rules. You can hear him chirping all the way until the end of the video. Cheeks even tried to piggy-back on that claim as well.

I've already spoken with an 10 year plus Austin cop who happens to be an Iraq / Afghanistan vet about that claim. His response?

Total Bunk.

One other item of note is that Howard Dean allegedly spoke at this particular town hall.

h/t to GATEWAY PUNDIT who is stepping up big in these uncertain times.

HONDURAS: WHO IS PUTTING COUNTRY FIRST?

While the latest proposal for a resolution to the crisis in Honduras has come from sitting president Roberto Micheletti and may be viewed by some as caving in to international pressure, at the moment, I'm seeing it a bit differently.

The WASHINGTON TIMES is reporting that Micheletti has made an offer that will allow Manuel Zelaya to return to Honduras but not as president. To this point, Micheletti has played hardball, saying that if Zelaya returns, he will be arrested for (among other things) treason. It may appear that Micheletti is softening his stance but their may be some hidden genius in this proposal because of what it will reveal. Also, keep in mind (as the Times reports) that Micheletti is not offering to drop the charges against Zelaya that he had millions of dollars stolen from a bank in Honduras days before the illegal referendum he was going to have administered.

This is where the hidden genius comes in....

If Zelaya accepts the offer, Micheletti will step down as president. The question then becomes, 'How thirsty for power is Zelaya?'

Clintonite Lanny Davis is rarely, if ever, quoted in a positive light by yours truly but he will be here. As an attorney that represents Honduran Latin American Business Council, Davis said the following:
"(this proposal) shows Mr. Micheletti is not concerned about power -- he is offering to resign entirely from public life. ... The question is, does Mr. Zelaya acknowledge that no one, even the president, is above the law?"
Davis has that exactly right.

Yes, Micheletti is backing off the hard line but he is also setting the stage for Manuel Zelaya to reveal his true colors. If Micheletti, whose government removed the Zelaya for wanting to hold on to power, is willing to step down in return for Zelaya agreeing to permanently sit out and Zelaya refuses, what will that say?

For some reason, I'm reminded of a passage from Scripture. When King Solomon was confronted by two mothers both claiming to be the mother of one baby. Solomon had a sword brought and was prepared to cut the baby in half..

1 KINGS 3: 23-28
23The king said, One says, This is my son that is alive and yours is the dead one. The other woman says, No! But your son is the dead one and mine is the living one.

24And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword to the king.

25And the king said, Divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other.

26Then the mother of the living child said to the king, for she yearned over her son, O my lord, give her the living baby, and by no means slay him. But the other said, Let him not be mine or yours, but divide him.

27Then the king said, Give her [who pleads for his life] the living baby, and by no means slay him. She is the child's mother.

28And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had made, and they stood in awe of him, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.
If Micheletti is willing to step down and Zelaya is unwilling to back down, which one of the two is ready to put the well being of the nation ahead of his own selfish desires?

NEWT: ERIC HOLDER SHOULD BE FIRED

Eric Holder was instrumental in pardoning Marc Rich. He was instrumental in pardoning FALN terrorists to garner support from Hispanic voting blocks. It was on his watch as Deputy Attorney General under Clinton that two Weather Underground terrorists (Linda Evans and Susan Rosenberg) were pardoned. His department recently dropped charges against members of the New Black Panther Party who were caught on tape intimidating voters on election day.

Now he's going after the CIA.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is speaking loudly about it:
In the latest skirmish in the Democratic Party's war on the CIA, Attorney General Eric Holder has failed to uphold this fundamental public trust. And for that, there should be consequences.

Earlier this week, on the same day that the administration released a six-year-old report on terrorist interrogations, Holder announced he is appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA officials who conducted the interrogations.
Newt then boxes Obama in.

Obama has gotten to where he is by distancing himself from situations that can harm him politically. Holder going after the CIA is no difference. If Obama is against what Holder is doing to the CIA, Gingrich says he should fire Holder.
Even if you believe this convenient division of political culpability, the Attorney General has failed to honor the law. He has given into - or faithfully carried out - the revenge fantasies of the anti-American left.

If Obama won't uphold his fundamental duty as Commander-in-Chief to defend those who have been defending America, the least he can do is insist that his Attorney General uphold his fundamental duty to defend the rule of law.

If Holder and his senior team won't do the right thing and resign their positions, Obama should do the right thing and fire them.
Obama can't play these games as the President and Newt explains exactly why.

Read Newt's ENTIRE ARTICLE.

On another note, I'd like to make a somewhat unrelated observation based on another paragraph in Newt's piece:
We know from long experience, of course, that special prosecutors in Washington quickly become self-justifying. To rationalize their existence, they must find people to prosecute, and find they do.
This can be applied to the enemies we didn't identify after 9/11. Instead of doing so, we focused on "terrorists" and the DHS has been staffed with people that need to find people to go after. Now that the war on terror is an archaic phrase, who will they find?

VIDEO: PAUL KRUGMAN EXPOSED AS SLUG

How many bald-faced lies from the left will it take to wake people up? No, really. Has anyone (even you guys sitting this one out or sitting on the fence) stopped to think about why Obamacare proponents so consistently echo the position that this is not about Universal health care, that it's not a trojan horse, or that it's not medicare for everyone?

VERUM SERUM delivers another knockout with their latest find. New York Times columnist and confirmed scumbag (sorry, this is that egregious) openly admits that he wants Universal health care and that the notion of a public option could lead to it, which is why he's so giddy in this video from October, 2007.

The derisive moniker I gave Paul the Slug was not warranted by that video alone because that was how he legitimately felt. Calling someone names because you disagree with them isn't a good idea but doing so when they're exposed as bald-faced liars makes it a little more warranted.

Check out the Slug on a recent appearance with Stephanapolous (August, 2009) saying that the arguments against the government option (that it will lead to universal health care) are "sheer nonsense".

This guy is a sorry excuse for a human being. Go figure. He writes for the New York Times.

ATTY GENERAL HOLDER: CIA BAD / BLACK PANTHERS GOOD

It is completely disingenuous for Barack Obama to feign discomfort while deflecting all responsibility for moving forward with prosecuting members of the CIA to Eric Holder. However, let's take him at his word for a minute and contrast Eric Holder's decision to target the CIA while dropping charges against three members of the Black Panthers who had already lost a default judgment.

Back on July 30th, Jerry Seper at the WASHINGTON TIMES reported that the #3 man at Eric Holder's Justice Department ultimately decided to drop the charges against Black Panther members who were caught on tape outside a polling station in Philadelphia this past election day. The charges were dropped despite the prosecutors winning a default judgment. It made no sense.

Eric Holder is heading a justice department that has decided to prosecute members of an Agency whose job it is to protect this nation against threats from our enemies but has dropped charges against a group caught intimidating voters with two men wearing uniforms and sporting a billy club in front of a polling station on election day.

Adding more siginificance to this disgusting disparity is New York Congressman Peter King who sees the attempt to vilify the CIA as an opportunity to question the allegiance of the Holder-led Justice Department. THE POLITICO reported:
A "furious" Rep. Peter King, the hawkish, maverick Long Island Republican, blasted a "disgraceful" Eric Holder for opening an investigation of CIA interrogators and chided his own party for what he described as a weak response to the move in an interview just now with POLITICO.

"It’s bulls***. It’s disgraceful. You wonder which side they’re on," he said of the attorney general's move, which he described as a "declaration of war against the CIA, and against common sense."
You know it's getting bad out there when a U.S. Congressman questions the allegiance of his country's top prosecutor.

FAIRNESS DOCTRINE CZAR TO IMPLEMENT ALINSKY TACTICS

Last week it was learned that the FCC's news "Diversity Czar" Mark Lloyd was going to push the idea of financing public radio by doubling the operating expenses of commercial / private broadcasters, thus bankrupting them.

Now it appears that may just be one prong of the strategy. CNSNEWS is reporting that the FCC will actually implement Alinsky-inspired tactics to aid in the effort.
Mark Lloyd, chief diversity officer of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), called for a “confrontational movement” to combat what he claimed was control of the media by international corporations and to re-establish the regulatory power of government through robust public broadcasting and a more powerful FCC.
A top government agency representative is calling for a confrontational movement to bully and intimidate private broadcasters. Not only that but he is not even hiding his affinity for Saul Alinsky:
With Alinsky as the political guide, Lloyd outlines nine “lessons” that people can draw on when trying to combat international businesses.

1. “Organizing people must be a priority. In order to counter effectively the power of major corporations we understood that we had to be able to demonstrate the support of hundreds of thousands of people. As Alinksy wrote: ‘Change comes from power, and power comes from organization. In order to act, people must get together.’”

2. “Understand where people stand on your issue. Once we were clear that we needed to drum up the support of people, we needed to understand what people knew about our issues. As Alinksy wrote, ‘if people feel they don’t have the power to change a bad situation, then they do not think about it.’”

3. “Connect with groups that have already organized the community. Our means of reaching local communities was through existing national organizations. We reached out to groups that had large constituencies and articulated our message by identifying how our goals fit their core interests.”

4. “The strategy must have an inside and an outside game. For media reform, this means we needed to embrace the necessity of operating both in and outside Washington [D.C.].”

5. “Don’t wait for events to unfold on their own. Pressure, pressure, pressure. If we wanted events to work in a direction that would benefit us, we knew we needed to push. We needed to apply pressure and to direct that pressure not at the government, but through the government at our true opposition – the broadcasters. Alinsky again: ‘The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain constant pressure upon the opposition.’”

6. “Communications is a priority. Again drawing from Alinksy, we understood that ‘one can lack any of the qualities of an organizer – with one exception – and still be effective. That exception is the art of communication.’ It is not just a matter of getting media to cover your campaign. That is, undoubtedly, a part of it, but it is also about getting the sort of attention you want, so the public and your opposition see you and your issues the way you want to be seen.”

7. “Research is key. We took not only message and public opinion research seriously, we took seriously our obligation to research the activity of our opposition. Our research entailed not only public opinion polling, but academic papers presenting economic and social analysis, legal research…and grassroots research involving the inspections of dozens of televisions station’s public files.”

8. “Establish a broad base of funding and never stop raising money. Alinksy is right that people are a source of power, but without adequate funds organizing people effectively cannot be accomplished.”

9. “Find allies in power. If civil rights leaders such as King had the Kennedys and Johnson, and the anti-Bork campaign had Ted Kennedy, our main ally was [FCC Chairman] Bill Kennard.”

The solution

To combat the control of international business and restore government to what he sees as its rightful place in managing public communications, Lloyd calls for a “confrontational movement” to protest the present order and organize a political movement that could force government to rein the businesses in.
Obama continues to attack institution after institution in this nation. Now he has someone in Mark Lloyd at the FCC who is going to try to do to private broadcasters what was done to auto dealerships.

They're not even being secretive about their intentions anymore.

"Appeasers are like those who feed alligators, hoping to be eaten last."
- Winston Churchill (the guy whose bust was sent back to Great Britain by Obama)

The video is over four minutes but if you want to fast forward to the good stuff, go to the 2:18 mark.

Oh, and don't forget to go to the 2:47 mark as Jenkins asks a protester holding a poster with Howard Dean's picture on it what he'd like to tell Dean.

PELOSI EXPLOITS TED KENNEDY DEATH BEFORE BODY COLD

As Rush Limbaugh pointed out today, he was SKEWERED when he predicted months ago that the left would exploit the death of Ted Kennedy to promote Obamacare. Not only was he right but he may have underestimated how vulturous the left (including Nancy Pelosi) would be.

Within hours (not days) of Kennedy's passing, the left went into full exploitation mode. In fact, they launched into it so fast, one is left to conclude that they've had a ravenous appetite for the moment itself.

BREITBART reported that Nancy Pelosi was one of the more prominent and loudest buzzards to squawk when the opportunity to do so finally arose:
"Ted Kennedy?s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration," Pelosi said in a statement.

"Sadly, Senator Kennedy left us exactly one year after he inspired the nation with his speech of optimism, vitality, and courage at the Convention in Denver," she said.
Shameless buzzards, led by Nancy Pelosi, have already started picking at the political corpse of Ted Kennedy to strengthen their arguments.

VIDEO: CHRIS MATTHEWS THRILL MAKES WAY TO HIS BRAIN

I really wonder if it's possible for Chris Matthews to ever snap out of the trance he's in. This guy is literally a caricature of insanity. I'm not sure what reality this guy is living in but calling it, "alternate" would be kind.

In his latest emotional derailment, Matthews said Obama is the last remaining brother of the Kennedys and Ted was the greatest Senator in history?

Chris! Seriously, you've lost it. As for Ted Kennedy's death, I will not deride him personally at this point but I will spend as little time discussing him as possible.

This shameless and misleading coverage of history gives me renewed skepticism when it comes to how accurate the world accounts of history are. We are watching an attempt by the left to completely re-write the history books of this nation. Another reason to continue this fight as our descendants may never know the truth about our nation if people like Matthews has his way.

To be fair, Fox News is doing the inexplicable as well. I was disgusted with their endless coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial service and watching them spend so much time glorifying Ted Kennedy is equally disgusting. As a senator, Ted Kennedy was a severe detriment to this nation. To watch this glorification of him without putting it in its proper context is rather shameful. Mary Jo Kopechne deserves more attention in my view.

Make no mistake. The left will attempt to exploit the death of Ted Kennedy to distract Americans away from the health care debate as long and as forcefully as it possibly can.

Note how at the end of this interview, the female anchor appears to be so touched by Matthews' passionate insanity.

MATTHEW VADUM: ACORN IN RETREAT

Yet another example why ACORN would change its name to Community Organizations International (COI - pronounced, "COY" when I personally refer to them). Vadum makes a strong case that they are in retreat as their voter registration trial is set to begin.
The testimony will come as soon as next month from former ACORN Las Vegas field director Christopher Edwards. Charged with election fraud by Nevada's Democratic attorney general, he cut a deal last week with prosecutors and has pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters.
The importance of this trial is in the implications of what a guilty verdict could mean.
If ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) happens to be convicted, it could have its status as a nonprofit corporation revoked in Nevada, which could make it very difficult for the ACORN network to operate in that key battleground state.

Such a conviction would send shock waves through leftist organizing circles across the nation and might embolden more prosecutors to take on ACORN. Until it was charged by Nevada this year, ACORN had boasted about its ability to duck prosecution for election fraud.
So an organization that has been brought in to aid in the 2010 census may be prohibited from operating in Nevada. How would such a conviction impact their involvement in that critically important undertaking when it comes to voting?

SEIU OPERATIVE BUSTED VANDALIZING DEMOCRAT HEADQUARTERS

Here we go again. The sheer multitude of examples is starting to become laughable. It appears that the left has decided to continue using tactics that differ only in degree with those used by Hitler to start his war with Poland. He killed people on the German side of the border and dressed them in Polish uniforms, claiming they had been attacked.

Now this. A 24-year old male named Maurice Schwenkler (pictured) was apprehended after vandalizing Colorado Democratic Party headquarters to the tune of $11,000 on Tuesday, August 25th. The DENVER POST reported:
State Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak initially blamed the vandalism on animosity surrounding the health care debate, though Denver police declined to comment on possible motives.

"We ought to be having a serious, conscientious debate about what's best for the country," Waak said. "Clearly there's been an effort on the other side to stir up hate. I think this is the consequence of it."
Pat Waak spoke a bit too soon because Schwenkler appears to be an SEIU operative who gets paid to "communicate".
While Schwenkler does not appear in the state's voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.
The Colorado Citizens Coalition? Turns out they're a FRONT GROUP FOR SEIU!

PEOPLE'S PRESS COLLECTIVE has much more on this but here are some specifics (excluding the details of what kind of "communication" Schwenkler was supposed to engage in).
Name: COLORADO CITIZENS’ COALITION
SOS ID: 20085621714
Type: 527 POLITICAL ORGANIZATION
Reporting Period: 10/23/2008 - 11/30/2008 Due: 12/04/2008

Date: 11/06/2008
Payee: MAURICE SCHWENKLER
1065 LIPAN
DENVER, CO 80204

Expenditure Type: Electioneering
Original Amount Reported: $0.00
Actual Amount: $500.00
Purpose: COMMUNICATION
Utterly despicable. Again, while differing in degree only, these are nazi-styled tactics. Anyone ready to admit which side truly consists of the "mobs"?

In November, a black man named Dyron Hart USED FACEBOOK to impersonate a white supremacist and threatened other blacks because Obama was elected.

At a Town Hall earlier this month for Rep. John Dingell (D), a supporter of Dingell who happened to be black, held up a POSTER OF OBAMA with a Hitler moustache.

Then at a Town Hall in Houston for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D), an Obama delegate and member of Organizing for America PRETENDED TO BE A DOCTOR. On that same day, a SWASTIKA APPEARED outside the office of Atlanta congressman David Scott (D) (gee, I wonder where it came from).

Welcome to the list, Schwenkler.

KINCAID: ANALYSIS OF BECK OUTING VAN JONES

As usual, Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy In Media is thorough and incisive. His latest effort contributes to digging deeper into who Obama's Green Czar (Van Jones) is, who hired him and what his background is. Kincaid is calling for broader support of Glenn Beck as the latter is the only one with such a sizeable audience willing to address these very troubling realities.

In short, the answer is that Van isn't his real name, his background is very radical, and stonewalling from the White House is preventing us from knowing who hired him.

Got that? We do have a quote from Van Jones that was published in 2005 in which he talked about his transformation after getting arrested. Perhaps it sheds light on his radical background:
"I met all these young radical people of color - I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of... I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary...I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th..By August, I was a communist."
Radicals, communists, and anarchists. Sounds a bit like Bill Ayers' cup of tea.

Kincaid has more on that:
Jones shows up on a list of "veteran activists" attending a conference in the summer of 1998 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the same place where Bill Ayers is now a professor. The purpose was to plot the "Black Liberation Agenda for the 21st Century" under the auspices of the Black Radical Congress. Angela Davis participated and the Communist Party USA helped organize the event.
That would be the same Communist Party USA that Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis belonged to. Davis also lived in Chicago until he moved to Hawaii in 1948 to escape FBI heat. That is where he met Obama in 1971. Ironically and coincidentally (I'm sure), Obama then ended up in Chicago, from where Davis came.

Another interesting string of facts about Van Jones:
One of Jones' sons is named Cabral, in honor of Amilcar Cabral, the African Marxist who spoke to Castro's Tricontinental Congress in 1966 and concluded with these words: "Our wish is that every national liberation movement represented here may be able to repeat in its own country, arms in hand, in unison with its people, the already legendary cry of Cuba: Patria O Muerte, Venceremos! Death to the Forces of Imperialism! Free, Prosperous and Happy Country for Each of our Peoples! Venceremos!"
Cuba? That would be the same Cuba that worked very closely with Bill Ayers and Weather Underground via the Venceremos Brigade.

A group headed by Van Jones called STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement) had objectives that mirrored those of Weather Undergound. As if this wasn't enough, the co-founder of Weather Underground with Bill Ayers was a man named Jeff Jones, who runs the New York office the group Apollo Alliance, a group that Van Jones only recently left. AARON KLEIN has more on this relationship.

Be sure to read CLIFF KINCAIDS ENTIRE ARTICLE.

Another eery reality is the similarity between the logos of both Weather Underground and Storm (below).

Lastly, for some reason, I think it fitting to include the two minute video clip from 1982 that surfaced before the 2008 election but got no mention from the Mainstream Media. Larry Grathwohl, the only man to successfully infiltrate the Weather Underground for the FBI had some bone-chilling things to say about their intentions.

Grathwhohl testified under oath that Weather Underground intend to enlist the help of radical elements from Cuba to help overthrow the American government, which is interesting in light of why Van Jones gave his son the name he did. In fact, listen as Grathwohl explains how the Weather Underground intended to squash a counter-revolution on the part of America as it was being overthrown. Then take note of what WU wanted to do with capitalists who couldn't be re-educated.

OBAMA NOT FOLLOWING SAUL'S RULES

It appears that Barack Obama has failed to adhere to rules #6 and #7 of Saul Alinksy's Rules for Radicals when pushing Obama-care. Senior citizens have been leading the charge against Obama's plan because it's an issue much more personal to them than it is to the young tech-saavy supporters of Obama.

Beth Fouhy at the WASHINGTON POST points out this likely unforseen dilemma for Obama and does a decent job of explaining it:
Add this to President Barack Obama's problems in selling his health care overhaul: A lot of the tech-savvy activists who helped put him in office are young, feeling indestructible and not all that into what they see as an old folks issue.

It's a crucial gap in support and one the White House may have to correct if Obama is to regain the momentum and get Congress to act on his top domestic priority.

Matt Singer, a 26-year-old founder of the liberal group Forward Montana and an activist in the health care trenches, has tried to engage young people.

"Right now we're seeing a big conversation with seniors, but you're not seeing the same mobilization among young people who are President Obama's core constituency," Singer said. "The age demographic most supportive of reform has not been engaged, and it makes me very nervous."
This apparently explains the "Passion" gap but where does Saul Alinsky come in?

RULE #6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. "If your people aren't having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic."

RULE #7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.

Saul would be extremely disappointed in his protege, I'm sure.

While Fouhy is all too willing to declare the concern over death panels a discredited concern even though the provision pointing to it had to be removed from the bill once Sarah Palin used Facebook to shine a big fat light on it, she does seem to be onto something here.

Regardless of her liberal bent, it's nice to see a sound argument coming from someone like Fouhy instead of the tired rhetoric about right wing mob astroturfers and racists just being obstructionists for no reason.

Whipping up resentment against passionate senior citizens is not a tactic Obama's people are enjoying. For one thing, they don't care too much about health care relative to seniors' emotional investment in the issue. Secondly, isn't it pretty hard to get people to hate seniors with whom they disagree? I mean, you gotta be hard core heartless to do that.

The August recess is also becoming a drag for the Obamautomatons.

FIDEL RALLYING FOR OBAMA

Barack Obama's "retreat" to Martha's Vineyard may be just that - a retreat from battle with the American people. The Community Org in Chief is NOT following the playbook (Rule #8 says, "Keep the Pressure On"). When the COC retreats, it means rule #8 in failing him.

That's why I don't think it's any coincidence that as Obama's playbook is betraying him, Fidel Castro is coming out in support of him with an op-ed. However, like New York Gov. David Paterson PLAYING THE RACE CARD for himself and Obama (unsolicited), my guess is Castro's unsolicited support is probably not all that welcome either (at least politically if not in spirit).

REUTERS quoted Castro as saying,
"....the extreme right hates him for being African-American and fights what the president does to improve the deteriorated image of that country,"
I don't know about you but when someone like Fidel Castro calls someone a right wing extremist, he's likely including Arlen Specter in the mix. Castro referring to the extreme right in a derisive way is a double negative for the right, which is a positive.

Or how about this quote from one of the world's biggest 'human' racists:
"I don't have the slightest doubt that the racist right will do everything possible to wear him (Obama) down, blocking his program to get him out of the game one way or another, at the least political cost."
I wonder how this is playing in the Cuban communities of South Florida that fled this brutally racist dictator.

An old saying is coming to mind.

"Relationships matter."

BLUE DOG TOWN HALL IN FARRELL, PA

Having grown up in a town adjacent to Farrell, I have a few contacts in the area who can get the word out. Democratic Representative Jason Altmire in Pennsylvania's 4th District will be holding a town hall at Farrell High School on August 26th.
(PITTSBURGH, PA) -- Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) announced that he will hold a town hall meeting on health care reform in Farrell on Wednesday, August 26 at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the auditorium at Farrell Area High School, located at 1600 Roemer Boulevard in Farrell, PA. Doors will open at 4 pm.
For more information on Altmire, be sure to visit his website.

Also, if you're a constituent and interested in getting on the call list for Altmire's Sept 1st teleconference town hall, be sure to call and make a request:
Constituents who wish to participate in Altmire’s telephone town hall can call his Aliquippa Office at (724) 378-0928 to be added to the call list.
More at Altmire's WEBSITE.

And of course, if you'd like to see what Altmire looks like, here you go....

VIDEO: JONAH GOLDBERG ON DEATH PANELS

No doubt the left wing kooks like Shepard Smith are going to label Goldberg's claims absurd but even if he's off base on his conclusions, it's pretty hard to argue with his premise that bureaucracies tend to drift in whatever direction ambiguous language leads them.

Check out what Goldberg had to say. Personally, I liked his "culled from the tribe" reference.

COLUMBUS DISPATCH REPORTER AND RADICAL MOSQUE

The Noor Islamic Cultural Center in Columbus, OH is the mosque attended by the parents of Fathima Rifqa Bary, who fled to Florida after converting to Christianity out of fear that she would be the victim of an honor killing at the hands of her father, Mohamad.

The fate of the 17-year old girl has yet to be determined. Until September 3rd (the date of the next hearing to determine her fate) a judge has ordered that she remain in foster care. Between now and then, Columbus is expected to find itself under a microscope of scrutiny.

The JAWA REPORT has some interesting facts about both that mosque and the reporter from the COLUMBUS DISPATCH that appears to be quite sympathetic to it. Dispatch reporter Meredith Heagney (Religion) is pictured in the photo wearing a hijab and ID card on her waist.

The local media (including the Columbus Dispatch) should be taking a hard look at the Noor Islamic Cultural Center as its one time resident scholar is a man named Sulah Sultan, who is a Hamas cleric and has since been banned from the United States. You can read more about Sultan at DISCOVER THE NETWORKS and this LIVE LEAK post.

Even more damning is this news report from Erick Stakelbeck two years ago.

With all of that to bolster Rifqa's claim that she is in danger of losing her life at the hands of her own parents and the Islamic community in Columbus, OH it becomes even more despicable when you consider that the Columbus Dispatch appears to be basically aiding and abetting the Noor Islamic Cultural Center in a dishonest and disingenuous propaganda campaign. Ultimately, if Rifqa is sent back to Columbus and murdered, the Dispatch and any reporters involved will have been a accomplices through their collective advocacy of Noor.

In fairness to Heagney, Jawa points out that she's not alone in this despicable and cowardly behavior. The Dispatch itself needs to be investigated. Heagney's employer actually held a seminar for Noor last November called (are you ready for this?), "LEARN TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE MEDIA".

You can email her at mheagney@dispatch.com but like the town halls, be firm while remaining professional and polite.

VIDEO: UPDATE ON TEEN CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY

Fathima Rifqa Bary is a 17-year old cheerleader and honor student from Columbus, OH. She made news when she fled her Muslim parents who she claims threatened to kill her for converting to Christianity. After traveling by bus to Orlando, FL she met up with friends at the GLOBAL REVOLUTION CHURCH and sought protection.

On Friday, August 21st a judge who many expected to rule that Bary be returned to her family in Columbus, ruled instead that another hearing be scheduled for September 3rd. In the interim, Bary will be permitted to stay in Florida.

The ball is now in the court of the FLORIDA DEPT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT as their findings on the veracity of the teen's claims are expected to be given serious consideration by the judge.

Here is a video of Fathima Rifqa Bary explaining why she does not want to return to her parents. Be sure to read some interesting revelations about her father below the video.

It would appear that like the Congressional recess and Obama-care, the delay in the judge's ruling on Bary could be damaging to the party wanting swift action without investigation. In this case, that party would be Bary's parents.

Pamela Geller at ATLAS SHRUGS has been all over this story and has uncovered some potentially very damaging information about Mohamad Bary:
Mohamad Bary and his wife signed affidavits declaring themselves indigent, and that is why the Florida court appointed a lawyer for the father and a lawyer for the mother. Both their lawyers are being paid by the taxpayers of Florida. Worse still, Aysha and Mohamed Bary's lawyer asked the court for more money at the hearing on Friday, so that they could wage a campaign (depositions, legal docs, filings etc.).

The above is a copy of the Dunn and Bradstreet report of filed by Mohammad Bary for his business, Bary Gems. He states his business does $237,561 per annum. The wife, Aysha Bary, makes high-end bridal gowns (that income may be off the books, but she works every day). It would appear that she works for CUSTOM BRIDAL VEIL -- a company owned by Risana Bary. The same Risana Bary who works with Mohamad (Rifqa Bary's father) at Bary Gems.
It has been learned that Mohamad Bary has the support of CAIR.

What to watch for: If this story continues to play in the media and if the Florida Dept of Law Enforcement makes an honest effort to uncover the truth, Bary's parents may decide to back down. CAIR already HAS A HISTORY of doing this when the heat gets too hot.

Jerry Wilson at the HOUSTON EXAMINER, points out another interesting little factoid about Mohammad Bary (Fathima's father):
Bary's father legally dissolved his jewelry business on July 29 of this year. Given that the business was apparently quite successful, with nearly a quarter of a million dollars in annual sales, the question of why he took this action is raised. Geller speculates the reason may be so he could leave the country with family, including Fathima, in tow and return to his native Sri Lanka where there would be no American judicial or religious oversight.

SCHANZER: GAZA BECOMING TALIBAN-ESQUE

In 2005, Israel handed the Gaza Strip over to the Palestinians, which were led at the time by the Palestinian Authority. In 2007, Hamas violently wrested complete control of Gaza. Hamas is a group inspired by the Muslim Brotherhood and is similarly Sunni - just like the Taliban.

Jonathan Schanzer at the Jewish Policy Center reports that Hamas is beginning to turn Gaza into something resembling a swath of land in Afghanistan.
..in the two years since the 2007 coup, the Gaza Strip has steadily exhibited the characteristics of "Talibanization" -- a process mirroring the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan in the 1990s whereby the Islamist organization imposed strict rules on women; discouraged activities commonly associated with Western or Christian culture; oppressed non-Muslim minorities; imposed sharia law; and deployed religious police to enforce these laws. This has only served to underscore the dangers associated with the rise to power of Islamist groups in the Muslim world.
Any guesses as to how Ismael Haniyeh, Hamas leader and Gaza overloard responds to such accusations? Hint: The same way the Obama Administration responds to charges that it's spamming the American people with Health Care emails from David Axelrod:
Ismael Haniyeh, the ascendant ruler of Gaza, officially denied accusations by the PLO and some Palestinian media outlets that Hamas intended to establish an Islamic emirate.
Nothing to see here.

Schanzer continues:
The Islamization of justice in Gaza has been compounded by the emerging strength of the "Authority for the Propagation of Morality and Prohibition of Vice," aimed to "fight those who are being corrupted by Satan, and do not observe sharia law." The vice squads were not new; they had operated in Hamas-controlled neighborhoods in Gaza and the West Bank for years. Under Hamas rule, however, they began to operate in wider territory and with impunity.
Authority for the Propagation of Morality and Prohibition of Vice? Is there a Czar in charge of that department?

Be sure to read SCHANZER'S ENTIRE PIECE.

Isn't it interesting how a country like Honduras sees worldwide outrage when it removes a president from office who is found to have been laying the groundwork for keeping himself in office, which would have blatantly violated his country's Constitution yet not a peep at this insanity taking place in Gaza?

HOPE AND CHANGE FOR 9/11 ANNIVERSARY

Matthew Vadum has a hard-hitting piece in the American Spectator that outlines what Barack Obama wants to do to 9/11. He wants to transform it into something else through a task master known as "Reverend" Lennox Yearwood (Pictured second from right in the photo taken in front of the White House on August 4th).

As the man in charge of the "Green the Block" campaign and head of the "Hip Hop Caucus", it is apparently a requirement to keep your hip hop hat UN-centered when wearing it (see photo). Vadum reports that on August 11th, Yearwood led a teleconference call in which the following was discussed:
Yearwood and other leaders kept saying repeatedly that they wanted 9/11 to be used for something "positive," "forward-leaning," and "productive," said a source with knowledge of the teleconference.
Great idea. How about we start using it to identify the enemies that attacked us?

But alas, that is apparently not what Obama, and by extension, Lennox Yearwood means.
The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it's not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing.
Of course we're learning that community organizing can only be celebrated when those involved agree with the Community Org in Chief (see town halls).

After 9/11, America made a commitment to never lose its resolve. If the Obama administration is choosing to transform the meaning of that day and we allow it, not only are we losing our resolve but we're willfully replacing it with lies and conscious ignorance. Vadum reports on how Yearwood and company plan to quicken the transformation and it involves a faulty premise - that 9/11 is currently a day of fear.
The plan is to turn a "day of fear" that helps Republicans into a day of activism called the National Day of Service that helps the left. In other words, nihilistic liberals are planning to drain 9/11 of all meaning.
Day of fear? No one likes fear. Who wouldn't want to jettison fear from the meaning of any day? The only reason for it to be a day of fear is to be ignorant of the day's meaning, which is what is being done. The less something is understood, the greater potential there is to fear it. So how does forgetting what 9/11 represents reduce fear? It doesn't. It will exacerbate it.

Be sure to read VADUM'S ENTIRE PIECE.

And you thought 9/11 was supposed to mark a day that will live in infamy. No, you silly. It's National Service Day.

WHITE HOUSE EMAIL STORY BECOMING RADIOACTIVE?

GovDelivery has been identified by the White House as the now infamous "third party" responsible for all of those inboxes receiving David Axelrod spam seeking to counter all of that "mis-information" about Obama-care. Aside from the implication that taxpayers are funding the White House publicity campaign for something they may not agree with, GovDelivery doesn't seem all that willing to accept blame so easily.

VERUM SERUM does it again by uncovering the details of this story. In a Q&A on GOVDELIVERY'S WEBSITE, the president of GD makes the following claim:
GovDelivery is never involved in fundraising or advocacy on behalf of non-profit or political organizations.
Wait a minute. The White House is claiming that Govdelivery is responsible for spamming citizens with advocacy. So who is lying? Well based on this administration's track record, do you really have to ask that question?

Nonetheless, VS continues following the trail. GovDelivery's president further explains GovDelivery's role in the mass mailing of its clients' information:
GovDelivery allows clients to upload existing contact lists into GovDelivery.
So does this mean that the White House would have necessarily had to have issued those email address to GovDelivery instead of GovDelivery harvesting them like the White House claimed last week after finding itself in a pickle?

Be sure to read Verum Serum's ENTIRE ANALYSIS. It points to a very radioactive pickle that the White House tried to give to GovDelivery to deal with. GovDelivery appears to have either not been brought into the loop or is refusing to play ball. Popcorn a must at the next White House press briefing with Robert Gibbs when Major Garrett asks Gibbs to explain.

Just because it's fun to watch, here's the exchange between Gibbs and Garrett that opened this can of worms back on August 13th:

HONDURAS: ZELAYA FACING TREASON IF HE RETURNS

Except for a brief stunt where he walked across the boder to stick out his tongue and run back to Nicaragua, ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya hasn't been to Honduras since he was removed on June 28th. It is not for lack of crying or trying.

XINHUA is reporting that the Supreme Court of Honduras is playing hard ball with Zelaya:
Honduran Supreme Court warned in Tegucigalpa on Saturday that if ousted President Manuel Zelaya returns home, he'll face trial on charges of treason and abuse of power.

In a statement, the Honduran top court said Zelaya must abide by the existing Honduran law and accept the court's verdict. Rulings to pardon the ousted president and his followers should be made according to law.
Call me old fashioned but I find it quite refreshing that there are countries in existence today that are willing to so passionately defend their Constitution.

THE HILL reported back on July 29th that Zelaya allegedly sent a letter to Barack Obama urging him to revoke the visas of officials in the new Micheletti-led government that deposed Zelaya.

Shockingly, the U.S. State Dept under Obama obliged according to The Hill:
State Department spokesman Ian Kelly confirmed at Tuesday's news briefing that four diplomatic visas had been revoked by the U.S. Kelly did not name names, but the deputy foreign minister of Honduras's de facto government confirmed that one of the visas belonged to Judge Jose Tomas Arita Valle, the chairman of the 16-member supreme court who signed the ruling ordering the detention of Zelaya.
So how does the Supreme Court of Honduras respond less than one month later?

Zelaya is told he will face charges of treason if he returns. Every time Zelaya tries something cute, the sitting Honduran government seems to smack him down twice as hard. Again, Honduras is shocking the world and Zelaya is looking increasingly incompetent when it comes to leveraging all of the support he had worldwide.

MORE ON ZELAYA petitioning Obama successfully for revocation of Honduran officials' visas.

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA REACHES NEW LOW

While the percentage of people who strongly DISAPPROVE of Obama's performance has not reached a new high, that high of 41% has been matched today. The two new lows are his Presidential Approval Index, which has eclipsed his previous low of -12. Today it is -14. The other new low reached today is in the percentage of people who strongly APPROVE of Obama's performance. Prior to today, it never went below 29%. He is now at 27%

Known as the "Passion Index", Obama now shows 41% of Americans strongly DISAPPROVE while only 27% strongly APPROVE.

People are waking up slowly but they're waking up. RASMUSSEN has more.

WHITE HOUSE OPENLY ADMITTING BAD THINGS

It appears that the Obama Administration is weaving quite the tangled web as evidenced by the fallout from the Snitch Brigade email address. Initially, it had a dilemma it couldn't get out of after asking citizens to send them an email at flag@whitehouse.gov, which has since been rendered invalid. Now, it has a completely new set of problems that have been set off by their decision to blame a third party for harvesting all of those private email addresses.

The problem was this. If the WH said it wasn't keeping the correspondence or emails it was getting, it was in violation of one law that says they must keep all correspondence. If they said they were keeping the correspondence, they were violating 1st Amendment rights of citizens.

Their decision? Admit to keeping the email addresses but blame a third party for providing them. That third party is GovDelivery.

Enter the new set of problems as reported by FOX NEWS:
The company, Govdelivery, describes itself as the world's leading provider of government-to-citizen communication solutions and says its e-mail service provides a fully-automated on-demand public communication system.

It is still unknown how much taxpayer money the White House provides to Govdelivery for its services.
Wait. Did they say taxpayer money?

So Govdelivery, which I fund, was being directed by the White House to lobby the American public for Obama-care? Over half of the people in this country who don't support government-run health care are subsidizing a propaganda campaign designed to push government-run health care?

I'm sure that's legal.

VIDEO: CONGRESSMAN PUNKED BY MARINE

He may be retired but the phrase, "once a Marine always a Marine" never resonated like it did when "David" confronted Representative Brian Baird (D-WA). This clip runs the gamut and if you're inclined to yell at the silver screen when the good guy thoroughly trounces his evil opponent, you may have a hard time holding back a "Hooo-AH" on this one.

Baird should consider himself roundly and soundly defeated.....Handily.

By the way, is it me or do Democratic congressmen have something against loudly pronouncing their party affiliation? Here's a LINK TO BAIRD'S page.

READING BETWEEN THE LINES OF PAUL KRUGMAN'S COLUMN

Interesting indeed. When you contrast Paul Krugman's column on August 20th with what he was caught on tape saying back in June, it becomes easier to read between the lines of what he's putting in print. What's between those lines appears to be deception.

Here, Krugman is making the point that the "public option" served as an idea that bridged the gap between democrats and mollified those who where insistent on single payer.
...the public option offered a way to reconcile differing views among Democrats. Until the idea of the public option came along, a significant faction within the party rejected anything short of true single-payer, Medicare-for-all reform, viewing anything less as perpetuating the flaws of our current system.
When you contrast that with what he said on videotape in June, you will see he that he understands the idea of a "public option" to in fact be a trojan horse that he advocates. Quoting Krugman talking about single payer in the video posted below:
"Politically, it's hard to do in one step."
Now back to his column.
The public option, which would force insurance companies to prove their usefulness or fade away, settled some of those qualms.
Did you catch that?

Notice how he calls for putting the onus on the Insurance companies to prove their worth on an inherently uneven playing field (government doesn't have to make a profit to stay in business). Yet, in the video below, he says the following:
"You have to convince people to completely give up the insurance they have."
So which is it, Mr. Krugman? Are you advocating raising the bar on insurance companies or enticing people away from them with taxpayer dollars?

Krugman answers that question in the video as well:
"..something that lets people keep the insurance they have but then offers the option of a public plan may be evolved into single payer. You can do it politically."
It would seem that Mr. Krugman has come full circle when he said "Politically, it's hard to do in one step."

Then in his piece, Krugman continues working toward the larger goal, trying to convince the unenlightened rabid dogs not to exit the trojan horse too soon. Doing so puts everything inside at risk. He's wanting the far left who don't "get it" to read between the lines when he says:
...it’s possible to have universal coverage without a public option — several European nations do it — and some who want a public option might be willing to forgo it if they had confidence in the overall health care strategy.
Confidence in the overall strategy? Translation: "Hey you far left rabid dog progressives, we all want the same thing here. We know you want it all now but the ends justify the means, even if they take longer. Shhhh. Stay inside the horse." What's the overall strategy, Mr. Krugman? We know. Single payer, right?

Here is Krugman's ENTIRE PIECE OF ELITIST DRECK. Fortunately, if you don't want to read between the lines of his column, he tells you what he really thinks in this video (fast forward to the :33 mark). Also note that he seems to almost eerily look into the camera at exactly the same time he may have realized he overplayed his hand.
