Alan Grayson (D-FL) is a representative from the Orlando area. In a committee hearing this week, he had Ben Bernanke doing a little collar-tuggin'. Grayson held his own and was at no time on defense.
Bernanke had the look of someone who was mildly uncomfortable giving answers he didn't necessarily believe himself. It's this kind of thing that will help get that audit of the Fed rolling.

ANOTHER SENATOR WANTS ANSWERS ON WALPIN FIRING
Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has apparently decided to join Charles Grassley (R-IA) in wanting to know specifics about why the Inspector General for Obama's AmeriCorps was fired when all indications are that he was simply doing his job. Gerald Walpin's story has remained consistent while Obama's stories have involved high doses of "change" and stonewalling.
BYRON YORK is back on the case. This time, he features U.S. attorney in Sacramento, Lawrence Brown who seemed to insert himself into the fray once it became apparent that his city may cease receiving stimulus funds due to what Walpin discovered about Kevin Johnson's role in misusing money that was intended for his non-profit organization, St. HOPE.
Kevin Johnson's rights to more stimulus money was reinstated. This coupled with Brown's curious involvement in it appears to have caught the eye of Sessions.
But we'll reserve judgment until we get Obama's side of the story....
Mr. Obama?

....investigators have been stymied by the White House’s refusal to answer any inquiries about any communications or other dealings it might have had on the subject. Brown has also refused to answer questions.Ah, more questions than answers when it comes to a Barack Obama scandal. Say it ain't so.
Now, investigators are trying a new route, examining the role of the Justice Department. Sen. Jeff Sessions, ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has asked the committee chairman, Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, for a hearing on the AmeriCorps/Walpin affair, focusing specifically on the role of Brown and his bosses at Justice.
Kevin Johnson's rights to more stimulus money was reinstated. This coupled with Brown's curious involvement in it appears to have caught the eye of Sessions.
According to a senior Republican aide, Sessions’ interest was piqued by a statement made in a late March television interview by Rep. Doris Matsui, the Democratic congresswoman who represents Sacramento. Asked whether Johnson’s problems could prevent the city from receiving stimulus funds, Matsui said that, at Johnson’s request, she had “been in conversation with officials at the White House and OMB [Office of Management and Budget] and others to ensure that we don’t lose any money at all.”Looking more and more like Walpin may have been fired for getting in the way of politicians and their pork.
Within days of Matsui’s statement, a settlement was reached. Johnson was unsuspended, and in a particularly unusual move, acting U.S. Attorney Brown issued a press release hailing the arrival of stimulus funds. “The lifting of the suspension against all parties, including Mayor Johnson, removes any cloud whether the City of Sacramento will be prevented form receiving much-needed federal stimulus funds,” Brown wrote.

WOW: ATTY GEN. ERIC HOLDER WANTS SHOE BOMBER TO KICK HIS FEET UP
Doug Ross has the story but odds are good you remember this guy. While trying to light his shoe bomb on fire 30,000 feet in the air, he was subdued by other passengers. Attempted murder of 200 people, right? Should have been labeled an act of war, right?
A few months back Eric Holder said, "In things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways essentially, a nation of cowards."
Perhaps he should have said, "In things Islamic...."
DOUG ROSS has more on this AND Holder's decision (ultimately, the buck stops with him) to drop charges against the Black Panthers who used Billy clubs and intimidation outside a Philadelphia polling station last November..
I blogged about them as well back on JULY 30TH

WARNING: THIS POST MAY CAUSE DISTURBING MENTAL IMAGES
As if you needed a new reason to be resistant to the idea of the president of the United States appointing unconstitutional czars to his administration, we now have this. Science czar John Holdren co-authored a book in 1977 called, 'ECOSCIENCE: Population, Resources, Enviornment'.
He's obviously 'green-friendly' so what did he say that's so bad? ZombieTime tells us...
ZOMBIETIME has done some exhaustive analysis on Holdren's writings. He even posts Holdren's defense of his writings some 32 years after he wrote them (Zombie still shreds him).
One Zombie perspective I do take issue with is his personal rationale for being pro-choice. He's pro-choice but doesn't believe in abortion while taking exception to the notion that government should do the choosing. Zombie, with all due respect, making abortion an issue of choice to begin with helped inch us closer to the government doing it.
I'm just sayin'..
Otherwise, excellent work.

These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology -- informally known as the United States' Science Czar. In a book Holdren co-authored in 1977, the man now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that:Isn't that nice?
• Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
• The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation's drinking water or in food;
• Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
• People who "contribute to social deterioration" (i.e. undesirables) "can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility" -- in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
• A transnational "Planetary Regime" should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans' lives -- using an armed international police force.

VIDEO: CNN REPORTER DON LEMON CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
Don Lemon of CNN continues to bring forth some gutsy reporting when it comes to how Gates-gate is playing out within the Cambridge police department. Leon Lashley, the black police officer that came to Crowley's defense was apparently on the receiving end of "uncle tom" accusations and reached out to Lemon.
Lemon obliged and hats off to him......
