Video: Newt Vindicated by....CNN??....in 1999

Newt Gingrich resigned from Congress in 1999 amid the political controversy surrounding ethics charges that involved a college course he taught. Democrats - including John Lewis, who is seen in this video report - charged that Gingrich violated IRS laws by using that course to push a political agenda. In this CNN report, the likes of which you just will not see today, Gingrich was found completely innocent and the CNN reporter emphatically underscored the point at the end.

For all of Gingrich's goof-ups, this makes him look extremely good.

Oh, the irony. Courtesy of CNN, the same network John King works for. Like this report from 1999, King helped Gingrich win in South Carolina.

More irony... The Democrats charged Newt with something they've practically mastered in the years since. In psychology class, that's called projection.
