Reporter Lester Kinsolving asked White House Press Secretary why Obama continues to omit the phrase, 'endowed by our Creator' whenever he quotes the Declaration of Independence. Gibbs' response? He pleads ignorance that Obama ever did that and then assures Kinsolving that his boss believes in the Declaration of Independence. That's quite the defense. What does it say when the White House Press Secretary has to assure the press corps. that the president believes in the country's founding documents?
Then watch how Gibbs responds to Kinsolving's second question, which involved a quote from Obama that Fox News was "destructive" to the country. Brace yourself but Gibbs actually says that news outlets have a responsibility to tell the truth.
I'm not kidding.

AUDIO: RUSH GETS TOUGH WITH DARRELL ISSA ON PHONE
This all started during Rush Limbaugh's October 19th program. He read a quote attributed to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) that disturbed him to the point that he asked his producers on-air to get Issa on the phone in the next segment. Sure enough, Issa was on the phone per Rush's request. The exchange started out cordially enough with Issa thanking Rush for giving him the opportunity to explain how the Wall Street Journal took one small quote of his to make it appear he said something he didn't.
Here is the quote in question via WSJ:
This is awesomely awesome. Issa is actually one of the good guys. If the Republicans take back the House, he will be the chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Government Reform and he is poised to do some serious investigating of this administration after getting subpoena power.
That's not what this was about and Limbaugh clearly got Issa's attention in this exchange.

Here is the quote in question via WSJ:
"It's pretty clear the American people expect us to use the existing gridlock to create compromise and advance their agenda," said Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.). "They want us to come together [with the administration] after we agree to disagree."Now for the audio..

VIDEO: SOCIALIST CONGRESSWOMAN CALLED ON HER SOCIALISM
First, a backdrop before checking out this awesome video. In 2009, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) was discovered to have been one of 70 members of congress to also be official members of the Democratic Socialists of America caucus. Another aspect to keep in mind is that Schakowsky's district is heavily Jewish and she has run on a pro-Israel platform in the past. Her opponent is a conservative named Joel Pollack.
In a debate on October 17th, U.S. policy toward Israel was a central theme. Attendance was high yet media coverage, save for citizen journalists, was virtually non-existent. Why? Could it be because Schakowsky's alleged pro-Israel stance is in stark contrast to her being a professed progressive? It was progressive groups who were behind the Gaza flotilla for example. This video report from Founding Bloggers is a must see.
As a side note, Schakowsky was also one of the four names given by Rahm Emanuel to Rod Blagojevich as requested replacements for Obama's Senate seat. The other three were Jesse Jackson Jr., Dan Hynes, and Tammy Duckworth. In light of Obama's treatment of Israel, the Schakowsky choice is interesting in light of this video report.
