Case in point was when Media Matters senior fellow Eric Boehlert blamed Glenn Beck for causing a man to snap before attempting to storm the George Soros backed Tides Foundation. Yet, when Clay Duke shot up a Florida School Board meeting before taking his own life, had listed Media Matters as one of his favorite websites, Boehlert lost the argument using his own logic. The difference is that Beck wouldn't have blamed Duke's rampage on Media Matters had that happened first. In fact, Beck has gone out of his way to pin the actions of crazy nuts on the nuts themselves.

Vadum's report documents how for a long time Soros' has been buying up media properties and funding "left-leaning" websites and groups, many of which try to keep their ties hidden. The Report is available before its official release via Capital Research Center.
Vadum cited Paul Steiger of Pro Publica, who told Investor's Business Daily in 2009, "An unmitigated canard … one that has a goofy way of creeping into discourse from a variety of people who dislike something we have written – is that George Soros, the global billionaire, is behind our coverage. Soros has never given us a penny."
However, Vadum's report noted that Pro Publica's website acknowledged that Soros' Open Society Foundation is a donor.
The report also documents the extensive connections between Soros at the "fake media watchdog, Media Matters for America," to which Soros recently donated $1 million.
Media Matters has a reputation, the report said, of having writers who "assiduously monitor Rush Limbaugh's broadcasts, seethe over Andrew Breitbart's latest expose, turn purple over Bill O'Reilly's latest on-air editorial."
