BrightSource: Is this Solyndra X's Three?

One of the things that makes the Solyndra scandal so potentially explosive is the likely probability that there were other very similar deals. After getting $535 Million in federal loan guarantees, the solar panel company went bankrupt in two years - and even required additional funding to prevent bankruptcy sooner. What if Solyndra is jus the warm-up act to a much bigger scandal? Aaron Klein is reporting that, like Solyndra, BrightSource is a solar panel company that received guaranteed federal loans. Unlike Solyndra, however, BrightSource received guarantees totaling $1.37 Billion, nearly three times more than Solyndra.

Via WND:
President Obama's nominee for Commerce secretary served as chairman of the board of a solar energy company that recently received a $1.37 billion federal loan guarantee – the largest the Department of Energy has ever given for a solar power project.

Now that company, BrightSource Energy, is attempting to build the world's largest solar power plant amid concerns such ventures may be too risky an investment for the federal government.

In June, BrightSource Chairman John Bryson was nominated by Obama to head the Commerce Department.

WND reported in June that Bryson co-founded an environmental activist group that is a member and funder of the controversial Apollo Alliance.

Apollo is run by a slew of socialists and radicals, including Jeff Jones, a founder of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist organization. Jones himself boasts of doing work for the environmental group founded by Bryson, the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Bryson served until June as co-chairman of the Pacific Council on International Policy, a globalist organization whose members can be found throughout the Obama administration.

The massive loan guarantee to BrightSource is meant to build an expensive California desert solar plant known as the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System.
So Obama's nominee for head of the Commerce Department was a Chairman with the solar panel company that received the largest federal loan guarantee from DOE; and the Apollo Alliance, which helped to write the stimulus bill, consists of a group that Chairman founded.

What are the odds that BrightSource is heading down a road identical to the one Solyndra is on? Is BrightSource simply taking longer to run out of money because it had more to begin with? If and when the BrightSource shoe drops, it will shake the Obama administration to the core. We could look at the entire Democratic Party go into survival mode for 2012.

On another note, Bryson has not yet been confirmed so anyone on the committee responsible for confirming him should be digging into this.

AARON KLEIN: GREEN CZAR TIED TO AYERS' GROUP CO-FOUNDER

While Van Jones, Obama's Green Jobs Czar, and Jeff Jones are not related, there is new irony relative to both sharing the same last name. Like Barack Obama and Bill Ayers, Van and Jeff served on a Board together as well. That group is Apollo Alliance, which is a conglomerate of leaders who claim to be creating an array of green jobs for people. Van recently departed from Apollo according to Klein.

Ayers started Weather Underground with Jeff Jones in 1969 after breaking away from the Students for Democratic Society (SDS). So what do we know about Jeff? Klein tells us that:
Jeff Jones founded the Weathermen with terrorists Bill Ayers and Mark Rudd when the three signed an infamous statement calling for a revolution against the American government inside and outside the country to fight and defeat what the group called U.S. imperialism. President Obama came under fire for his longtime, extensive association with Ayers.
When you begin to look into Van's past, you begin to see things that he has in common with folks like Bill Ayers and Jeff Jones. Klein reports:
Jones, formerly a self-described "rowdy black nationalist," boasted in a 2005 interview with the left-leaning East Bay Express that his environmental activism was a means to fight for racial and class "justice."

Jones was president and founder of Green For All, a nonprofit organization that advocates for building a so-called inclusive green economy.
Enviornmental activism as a means to fight for justice? What exactly does that mean?

I personally find some striking similarities between Bill Ayers and Van Jones in that the former said at a recent book signing that he thinks we "should abolish all prisons" while dedicating said book to all of the millions of prisoners. A group Van founded almost takes on added significance when you factor in that view:
He was a founder and leader of the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM. The organization had its roots in a grouping of black people organizing to protest the first Gulf War. STORM was formally founded in 1994, becoming one of the most influential and active radical groups in the San Francisco Bay area.

STORM worked with known communist leaders. It led the charge in black protests against various issues, including a local attempt to pass Proposition 21, a ballot initiative that sought to increase the penalties for violent crimes and require more juvenile offenders to be tried as adults.

The leftist blog Machete 48 identifies STORM's influences as "third-worldist Marxism (and an often vulgar Maoism)."
Vulgar Maoism? Gee, what a coincidence when you consider that Obama and Ayers shared a business address with a Chinese Maoist named MIKE KLONSKY in the 1990's.

NAKED EMPEROR NEWS posted the audio of a Bill Ayers interview from 2002 in which he said he still considers himself a marxist and an anarchist. Compare that with this quote Klein attributes to Van Jones:
"I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."

"I met all these young radical people of color – I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next 10 years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary."
Is it really any wonder that Van, Jeff, Bill, and Barack run in the same circles? What makes this reality so dire is that one of them is the President of the United States.
