OBAMA AT ALL TIME LOW ON PASSION INDEX

Not entirely sure what this means but for the far lefties to be the cause of this one, they'd have to move from the SA to SD overnight. That would be unlikely. I have long maintained that the Strongly Disapprove number is far more important than the Strongly Approve number.

46% Strongly Disapprove is by far a new high.

When you look at the Overall Approve / Disapprove numbers, the former is at 44%, which is not a new low. The latter is at 56% which IS a new high. Neither is the Strongly Approve number a new low.

My money is on a two-part shift happening. At face value it would seem that a contingent of those who approve of Obama's performance moved into the "disapprove" and another contingent migrated from "disapprove" to "strongly disapprove".

POLL: OBAMA OVERALL APPROVAL AT NEW LOW

Yesterday, Obama found himself at a new low in the passion index at -19 (gap between those who strongly approve and disapprove of his performance). While he's at a -18 today in that index, he has achieved a new low when it comes to his overall performance. That number is now at 44% and all signs point to that slide continuing. It looks like the "at least somewhat approve" camp got a little crowded when a significant percentage of "strongly approvers" began showing up.

A consequence may have been that a contingent of "somewhat approvers" moved on down to the "somewhat disapprove" category. Keep an eye on this one. We may be witnessing the beginning of a serious shakeup in support for this president. The "strongly disapprove" camp appears to be the only that hasn't really seen a shift yet. However, if there's a number being watched closely by this president, it's that one. Of the four categories, it is one he definitely doesn't want to see grow.

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA AT A NEW LOW

Not much movement in the Strongly Disapprove category but a serious decline in the Strongly Approve area as a new low of 23% has been reached. For several months, the differential has been between SD numbers in the low 40's and SA numbers in the high 20's. The SD is at 42% but with the SA at 23%, it seems to indicate that some far left loonies are having a big problem with Obama's Afghanistan decision.

Not a huge deal. I have long insisted that the more powerful number is the Strongly Disapprove figure, which hasn't really changed. Though this latest poll is indicative of a loss in passionate support, it's more like left-wing pouting that won't really amount to much.

As further evidence of this, the Overall Approval / Disapproval numbers have not achieved new highs or lows. Again, when the Strongly Disapprove numbers start to climb, it will be a bigger issue.

POLL: NEW LOW FOR OBAMA ON APPROVAL INDEX

I haven't posted Rasmussen's daily presidential approval index for some time because there hasn't been any drastic changes or new high / low water marks since July. However, that changed today. Obama has reached a new low in the approval index category with a -15 meaning 42% of those polled strongly DISAPPROVE of his performance while only 27% strongly APPROVE.

In addition to the passion index, Obama has matched his lowest overall approval. RASMUSSEN shows him at 54% disapproval and a new low of 45% approval.

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA HITS NEW LOW

Far be it from me to attempt to interpret Rasmussen's poll results (he can do just fine on his own) but I can't help myself. It's widely accepted that polling lags reality by about three days. That means today's results actually gauge public sentiment from Thursday.

Obama hitting a new high in the STRONGLY DISAPPROVE category at 42% (his previous high was 41%). His presidential approval index is not good either at -10. The timing of Obama reaching new undesirous lows would seem to coincide with public opinion forming around the decision to allow prosecutors to target the CIA.

Just a hunch but that decision seemed to to more harm than good when it comes to public opinion.

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA REACHES NEW LOW

While the percentage of people who strongly DISAPPROVE of Obama's performance has not reached a new high, that high of 41% has been matched today. The two new lows are his Presidential Approval Index, which has eclipsed his previous low of -12. Today it is -14. The other new low reached today is in the percentage of people who strongly APPROVE of Obama's performance. Prior to today, it never went below 29%. He is now at 27%

Known as the "Passion Index", Obama now shows 41% of Americans strongly DISAPPROVE while only 27% strongly APPROVE.

OBAMA REACHES A NEW LOW IN POLLS

Many refer to the Daily Presidential Tracking poll as the "Passion Index", which compares the percentage of people who strongly APPROVE of Obama's policies vs. the percentage who strongly DISAPPROVE.

His personal worst for this Index rating was a -12 and while he hasn't eclipsed that today with his -9, he has reached a new high when it comes to people who strongly DISAPPROVE of his performance. Today, he's at 41% and his previous high was 40%.

This may be splitting hairs but I believe any president would have to be concerned with these numbers going in the wrong direction.

NEW LOW: OBAMA KEEPS BOTTOMING HIMSELF

While the 40% Strongly DISAPPROVE number has remain unchanged, the overall index has set a new record. Obama's index is now at -12, which means that fewer people Strongly APPROVE of his performance (28%). My personal view is that the strongly disapprove numbers are more powerful than is the converse. Fewer "strongly approvers" doesn't translate into passionate engagement like growth in the "strongly disapprovers" does.

OBAMA AT NEW LOW IN APPROVAL INDEX

The month of July has been particularly bad for Obama when it comes to Rasmussen's Presidential Approval Index (he's been in negative territory consistently). Now he has a new low as 39% of the country Strongly DISAPPROVES of his performance. Only 30% Strongly APPROVE of his performance, which equates to -9 on the index (also a new low).

Rasmussen is reporting that the July 22nd press conference in which Obama said Cambridge police "acted stupidly" seems to have played a role in the drop.

In addition to nearly 40% of Americans strongly disapproving of Obama's performance, his overall approval rating is below 50% for the second day in a row.

We all know that Obama is prone to throwing people under the bus. Maybe he should stop it and ask a few to step off and tighten the lugnuts.

Obama Records New Low Again Today -8

WOW! 38% of Americans now Strongly DISAPPROVE of Barack Obama's performance while only 30% Strongly APPROVE. Not only is this completely new territory for Obama but it is the third day in a row he has set his own new dubious record.

On July 7th, he recorded a -3. On July 8th, he was at -5. Now on July 9th, he's at -8 according to the daily presidential index over at Rasmussen.

It appears someone may have thrown some grease and banana peels under the Obama bus.

Is the Obama Mask slipping off?

In today's daily Presidential Approval Index, Barack Obama has reached yet a new high when it comes to the number of people who strongly DISAPPROVE of his performance.

By simply reviewing the Rasmussen Poll, we can see for our own eyes what the current approval ratings are. The Rasmussen Poll measures the gap between how many people strongly APPROVE of his performance and how many people strongly DISAPPROVE. For the first time since taking office, Obama is at -5.

It was only yesterday (7/7) that Obama's index had set a new record at -3. In fact, since June 28th, he's only had a positive number once and it was at +1. This increases the odds that we are in fact witnessing a trend and not sampling errors.
