UNITED LOSES LUGGAGE OF GUY WHOSE GUITAR THEY BROKE

This is straight out of the 'lighting strikes in the same place twice' department. You might remember Dave Carroll. He was the musician who had his guitar broken by United Airlines. After countless attempts to get them to repair it, they finally told him to go away. So he wrote a song and made a video.

United has been dealing with the fallout ever since as Carroll has already made a second video and had plans to do a third. Well, it looks like he might be doing a fourth.

Why? Because United lost his LUGGAGE
After famously breaking his guitar, United Airlines has managed to cause further trouble for David Carroll by losing his luggage — just as the Canadian singer-songwriter was en route to deliver a speech about customer service.

RightNow Technologies, a company that creates customer service software, had hired Carroll to deliver a keynote speech this week at its conference in Colorado Springs, about 100 kilometres southeast of Denver.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on....

You might be wondering why Carroll would be flying United again? The answer to that question is given further on into the article.
"the only direct flight to Denver was with United. So I flew United and my bag got lost," the Nova Scotia singer-songwriter told CBC News by phone on Thursday.
Carroll is re-working the third song in his trilogy about his broken guitar experience because of the latest problem with United.

After the first song came out, I was more than a little skeptical about subsequent songs because A.) the 1st one was hard to top and B.) the appeal was sure to wear off.

However, I found the 2nd song better than the first.

VIDEO: SONG 2 ON UNITED BREAKING GUITARS

Dave Carroll hit YouTube Gold when he released a song called, "United Breaks Guitars". It was a video about how United's baggage handlers broke his quite expensive guitar and wouldn't pay for it. Carroll's video was viewed by millions and United most certainly regretted their course of action.

But Carroll's not done. On his website, he discusses how he committed to writing three songs about his experiences after he learned United would not reimburse him for his troubles. The first song made reference to the lady who handed down the final verdict from United. Here name is Ms. Irlweg. This video features Irlweg prominently. Here is the video for song #2 of 3.

Enjoy.

Just in case you have a craving for Song #1....

VIDEO: United Airlines A Little Upset

The "United Breaks Guitars" video is causing more YouTube fallout. On Tuesda, July 9th, CNN reported on the story and the video. They reported that United reached out to Dave Carroll after only 50,000 views! Guess what? As of July 14th, his video is at 2.8 Million views.

United's official statement was that they were going to use it as an internal training exercise (translation: they were going to try to make chicken salad out of chicken you know what).

If you want to view the actual CNN report, here it is.

And of course, to watch the video that started it all...

United Airlines Breaks Guitars - VIDEO

From a guy named Dave Carroll comes a video that levied justice against a major airline that no doubt thought they could squash him and his complaint like a bug. If United really broke his guitar, Carroll has a legitimate beef if he wasn't reimbursed.

As someone who knows a little bit about guitars, the Taylor name can only be found on the top shelf when you're looking to add to your collection. Assuming this is a true story set to music (minus the sombreros), I'll bet the guitar United broke was probably around $2000 (low end).

With over 1 million views on YouTube, my guess is United now wishes it had dealt with Mr. Carroll honestly. Justice has officially been served.

Echoes of David & Goliath with Carroll playing David, United Airlines as Goliath, and YouTube is the stone between the eyes of United. He even NAMES NAMES!!

Truly an underdog story!
