Florida to Eric Holder: Go pound sand

Florida is getting the Arizona treatment when it comes to the Department of Justice. After removing a bunch of deceased voters from the rolls, Florida heard from one of Eric Holder's minions, who essentially said, cease and desist. That's right, further proof of the despicable level of corruption at the highest levels of our government; Holder wants dead people on the voter rolls.

Florida has responded with a gesture involving two body parts - a thumb and a nose.

Via Stand with Arizona:
Florida has drawn a line in the sand which must be adopted by every state against an Attorney General and administration which is increasingly abusing and distorting the law to stop efforts to keep illegal voters away from the polls this November.

The Department of Justice this week demanded that Florida immediately cease its current massive purge of non-citizens and dead persons from its voter rolls, absurdly citing the outdated and outmoded Voting Rights Act of 1965. Well, now Florida has refused, saying it will not give up its efforts to make sure only legal citizens can vote.
Here is Florida's official response:
“We have an obligation to make sure the voter rolls are accurate and we are going to continue forward and do everything that we can legally do to make sure that ineligible voters cannot vote,” said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Detzner. “We are firmly committed to doing the right thing and preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot. We are not going to give up our efforts to make sure the voter rolls are accurate.”
Speaker Boehner, how about you take a lesson from those with less power than you, who are actually standing up to Eric Holder, and issue that contempt order in Fast and Furious?

Chicago Way hits Long Island; cops allegedly demoted for voting Republican

Earlier today, I posted the story about the Democratic Party in Wisconsin identifying registered Democrats - by name - who haven't voted in the last two elections and asking registered Democrats to put pressure on them to vote in the upcoming recall election in that state.

Now this.

Via New York Post:
Six Long Island cops claim their commissioner is putting politics before the badge.

The Long Beach crime fighters say they’ve been targeted by the seaside town’s Democratic machine for supporting GOP candidates in local elections last year.

Long Beach Police Commissioner Michael Tangney, a longtime Democrat, demoted the cops, cut their overtime, switched them to midnight tours and even filed false internal charges against them for “political payback,” the veteran officers claim in a $39 million lawsuit.

“It’s just the way politics work in this town,” Tangney allegedly told one of the officers while demoting him.

Officers James Canner, 44; Karl Hayes, 42; James McCormack, 55; John Radin, 53; Benjamin Tayne, 47; and Jose Miguez, 39, claim they turned to their union for help, but that then-president Stefan Chernaski, another Democrat, ignored them.
More 'tolerance' from the left.

Democratic Party in Wisconsin channeling early KKK tactics?

In the late 1800's, the Democratic Party's militant arm - the KKK - forced blacks to vote Democrat or face the full wrath of the racist group. That wrath included torture and death. Fast forward to today in Wisconsin. Certainly, to compare the degree to which the Democratic Party is willing to go today vs. the late 1800's would be disingenuous but to compare the spirit of intimidation would not be.

Ann Althouse has posted a letter she received from the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund. The letter informs Democrats which voters from their party have not voted in the last two elections. Althouse explains why it was sent:
I obscured names and addresses, but be assured, this was a list of real names and addresses of people who live near me, with the information about whether they voted in the last 2 elections. This is an effort to shame and pressure people about voting, and it is truly despicable. Your vote is private, you have a right not to vote, and anyone who tries to shame and an harass you about it is violating your privacy, and the assumption that I will become active in shaming and pressuring my neighbors is repugnant.

The good news is that this is a clear indication that the Democrats are desperate when it comes to Wisconsin's recall election. It also serves to peel back more of the party's mask. Unfortunately, it also demonstrates a form of lawless intimidation that differs only in degree, not intent, from what the Democrats did to prevent Republican victories after passage of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments.

The Democratic Party deserves credit, though. It has masterfully used deceit to convince a super majority of black voters that it fights for them and that the Republican Party is the racist Party. In reality, the Democratic Party fights to exploit blacks because the Civil Rights Act prevented them from using threats of physical harm and death to intimidate them.
