VIDEO: UH OH, NANCY PELOSI'S PROJECTION PROBLEM

Another Big Get over at Breitbart's Big Government website. It makes for an extremely interesting development in light of Nancy Pelosi's 2009 claim that Tea Parties are Nazi-esque and generated via astro-turf tactics, an art perfected by senior Obama advisor David Axelrod. Thanks to a camera phone, we see that Pelosi may have a bit of a projection problem on her hands - blaming others for what her side actually does. We see that not only is it the left that engages in these Nazi-esque and astro-turf tactics but thanks to video in this case, we see that it involves a specific individual tied to Nancy Pelosi directly.

Just to whet the appetite, here is that important video from August of 2009 that proves very pertinent. Nancy Pelosi accuses the Tea Party of using "Swastikas" and "Astro-turf".

Now, a couple of word definitions to keep in mind..
1.) Astro-turfing - apparently grassroots-based citizen groups or coalitions that are primarily conceived, created and/or funded by corporations, industry trade associations, political interests or public relations firms.

2.) Projection - the tendency to ascribe to another person feelings, thoughts, or attitudes present in oneself, or to regard external reality as embodying such feelings, thoughts, etc., in some way.
Now on to the Big Government expose.

Fast forward to the protest this month. Illinois' 11th District features a race between GOP candidate Adam Kinzinger and Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D). Not only are these left wing protesters holding pictures of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Kinzinger with Hitler mustaches but as you stick with the video, you'll see them enter the campaign office of Halvorson; even more telling than that is who is seen in that office, appearing to chuckle over the events that had just transpired.

Her name is Julie Merz. Big Government claims that not only does Merz happen to be Halvorson's campaign manager but she was recently - possibly at the time Nancy smeared the Tea Parties - an assistant to Pelosi. More at Pantagraph.

Anyway, here is the video of the protest followed by the protesters' visit to Merz's office. Merz is seen at the end of the video wearing a green shirt inside the campaign office.

ASTROTURFING AT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION?

It seems like the perfect metaphor - and perhaps a bit of foreshadowing - for the defeat of astroturfing. Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod is the recognized master of the tactic used to secretly organize massive groups of people in order to push an agenda while making it look like a grassroots effort. If what Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan did last week in sending an email to 4000 employees, urging them to attend Al Sharpton's rally to counter Glenn Beck's rally, isn't astroturf; it's certainly in the same ballpark.

Via the Washington Examiner:
President Obama's top education official urged government employees to attend a rally that the Rev. Al Sharpton organized to counter a larger conservative event on the Mall.

"ED staff are invited to join Secretary Arne Duncan, the Reverend Al Sharpton, and other leaders on Saturday, Aug. 28, for the 'Reclaim the Dream' rally and march," began an internal e-mail sent to more than 4,000 employees of the Department of Education on Wednesday.
There are so many problems with this.

First, the people in receipt of that email had it sent to them by the senior most official at the Department. Did some view it as something that could help them move up in the department? Did others view it as potentially harmful to their career if they didn't attend?

Secondly, the use of taxpayer dollars in an effort to organize people to support a political agenda most Americans vehemently object to is particularly maddening.

So how did the email become public?
The Washington Examiner learned of the e-mail from a Department of Education employee who felt uncomfortable with Duncan's request.
For those who think the only power they have is on election day, take note. This employee did a tremendous service and contributed greatly in the effort to hold government accountable.

In the end, the effort to bolster Sharpton's rally fell far short of expectations. It would be generous to say Sharpton's event had 5000 people in attendance. Conversely, Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally saw between 300,000 and 600,000 people attend. If those kinds of numbers portend in any way voter turnout - including astroturf efforts on the left - we could see an electoral blowout.

OBAMA'S ELLIE LIGHT PROBLEM COULD WEIGH HEAVILY

Patterico's Pontifications is the place to go to keep up to date on this one. It's well known that David Axelrod is the master of Astroturfing. We also know that Obama's Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstein has advocated exactly the kind of antics that the Ellie Light story appears to be. In short, Ellie Light is a staunch Obama apologist and not only has her letter appeared in countless newspapers across the country but in each case, her residence is in a town nearby each one of those papers.

Calling Ellie "ubiquitous" would be kind.

Sabrina Eaton at the Cleveland Plain Dealer caught the many discrepancies and actually had some correspondence with this mystery woman. Another thing that sticks out as being par for the Obama administration course when confronted with some unpleasant facts - avoid answering the question.

In this case Easton attempted to get Light to explain the many addresses listed as home. The back and forth is a must-read. Sabrina has posted them here.

The other aspect of this that seems to point to the Obama administration and the astroturfing antics made infamous by Axelrod is that Sunstein has advocated this kind of thing in past writings. Aaron Klein has written about it.
Continued Sunstein: "We suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of believers by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity."

Sunstein said government agents "might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."
Something really stinks about this story. If Sunstein's nefarious tactics are being implemented by this administration, some big names should be jettisoned.

SEIU OPERATIVE BUSTED VANDALIZING DEMOCRAT HEADQUARTERS

Here we go again. The sheer multitude of examples is starting to become laughable. It appears that the left has decided to continue using tactics that differ only in degree with those used by Hitler to start his war with Poland. He killed people on the German side of the border and dressed them in Polish uniforms, claiming they had been attacked.

Now this. A 24-year old male named Maurice Schwenkler (pictured) was apprehended after vandalizing Colorado Democratic Party headquarters to the tune of $11,000 on Tuesday, August 25th. The DENVER POST reported:
State Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak initially blamed the vandalism on animosity surrounding the health care debate, though Denver police declined to comment on possible motives.

"We ought to be having a serious, conscientious debate about what's best for the country," Waak said. "Clearly there's been an effort on the other side to stir up hate. I think this is the consequence of it."
Pat Waak spoke a bit too soon because Schwenkler appears to be an SEIU operative who gets paid to "communicate".
While Schwenkler does not appear in the state's voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.
The Colorado Citizens Coalition? Turns out they're a FRONT GROUP FOR SEIU!

PEOPLE'S PRESS COLLECTIVE has much more on this but here are some specifics (excluding the details of what kind of "communication" Schwenkler was supposed to engage in).
Name: COLORADO CITIZENS’ COALITION
SOS ID: 20085621714
Type: 527 POLITICAL ORGANIZATION
Reporting Period: 10/23/2008 - 11/30/2008 Due: 12/04/2008

Date: 11/06/2008
Payee: MAURICE SCHWENKLER
1065 LIPAN
DENVER, CO 80204

Expenditure Type: Electioneering
Original Amount Reported: $0.00
Actual Amount: $500.00
Purpose: COMMUNICATION
Utterly despicable. Again, while differing in degree only, these are nazi-styled tactics. Anyone ready to admit which side truly consists of the "mobs"?

In November, a black man named Dyron Hart USED FACEBOOK to impersonate a white supremacist and threatened other blacks because Obama was elected.

At a Town Hall earlier this month for Rep. John Dingell (D), a supporter of Dingell who happened to be black, held up a POSTER OF OBAMA with a Hitler moustache.

Then at a Town Hall in Houston for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D), an Obama delegate and member of Organizing for America PRETENDED TO BE A DOCTOR. On that same day, a SWASTIKA APPEARED outside the office of Atlanta congressman David Scott (D) (gee, I wonder where it came from).

Welcome to the list, Schwenkler.

AXELROD THE ASTROTURFER-IN-CHIEF?

For those who have actually decided to open their eyes at what's really going on with this administration, they risk being immune to the level of corruption in the White House. It's beginning to make Bill Clinton blush (I know, it's hard to tell when Bubba's blushing).

Anyway, Michelle Malkin does it again as she's all over what's going on with David Axelrod, the man who made astroturfing an art form. As the Obama administration continues to refer to the town hall grass roots movement as "astroturf" or fake grass roots funded by special interest groups, it continues to accuse others of doing what David Axelrod is a master at doing - Astroturf.

As you watch Michelle explain in very clear language with quintessential specificity exactly what's going on, ask yourself a question.

What does it say about how an entity or human being views itself when it demonizes and vilifies opponents by accusing them of doing despicable things that the accuser is doing to an extreme?

Not only is it projection but it shows that entity / human being to be extremely vile.

CLICK HERE for more from Michelle on how corrupt this is.

THE OBAMA ASTROTURFING CAMPAIGN

While the Obama White House accuses concerned Americans of using a tactic Obama's right hand man David Axelrod perfected, Barack has decided to implement those practices himself.

"Astroturfing" is a term used to describe fake grass roots campaigns. With even a modicum of honesty, it's easy to see that the town hall protesters are nothing more than UNpaid concerned citizens.

Contrast that with the Obama White House's "Organizing for America". The White House is calling on Obama supporters to show up at their Senator's office. Here is what I received today from "Organizing for America":
All this week, OFA members like you will be stopping by local congressional offices to show our support for insurance reform. You can have a quick conversation with the local staff, tell your personal story, or even just drop off a customized flyer and say that reform matters to you.

We'll provide everything you need: the address, phone number, and open hours for the office, information about how the health care crisis affects your state for you to drop off (with the option of adding your personal story), and a step-by-step guide for your visit.

According to our records, you live near Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's office in Austin, TX.
Immediately after calling on me to visit my Senator's office in support of Obama-Care, the email says this:
As you've probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it's getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can't let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.
Partisan mobs? What do you call the White House sending mass emails to people they want to show up to do the president's bidding? Isn't that abusing the office? As for physical assualts, the only physical assaults have come at the hands of Obama thugs from SEIU.

The White House is getting desperate and they just may have started the process of overreaching. It is critical that people not back down to this thuggery.
