VIDEO: CHARLIE RANGEL'S MOMENT OF TRUTH

On December 2nd, the House voted 333-79 to censure Charlie Rangel. He was also ordered to pay any debt he owes the Treasury as a result of his not paying taxes. Here are three videos for your viewing pleasure. First up, a somber outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reads the formal verdict with Charles B. Rangel in the well of the House. Next up, Charlie Rangel addresses the House and subsequently receives a standing ovation. Lastly, afterward, at a press conference he tells the press that he does not deal with average citizens.

Welcome to an inside look at why this country is in the mess it's in.

VIDEO: CHARLE RANGEL WALKS OUT OF HIS OWN HEARING

What do you get when you mix an arrogant lifetime politician on trial for ethics violations with a dash of indignation over the fact that he doesn't have an attorney despite never being denied the opportunity to retain one? Answer: a theatrical and incoherent argument based on a faulty premise followed by the departure of the politician on trial. That's what happened in the trial of Registered socialist congressman and member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Charlie Rangel (D-NY).

Take note when Rangel talks about why he doesn't have counsel. It's too expensive, he can't afford it, and none of the multiple attorneys he knows personally are willing to take the case on ethical and legal grounds. Translation: they won't do it if they don't get paid and Charlie seems to be a little light on cash. Welcome to the conundrum so many of the "little people" face on a daily basis, Charlie. At the end of this clip, you will see G.K. Butterfield attempt to defend Rangel's incoherent argument. Before you ask why, know that he is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), though NOT one of the 30 members of the 42 member group registered as a socialist.

Can you believe this guy was re-elected earlier this month by a wide margin? His constituents are either socialists or high.

VIDEO: LATEST AMMO FOR GOP AGAINST MAXINE AND CHARLIE

The two most prominently corrupt members of congress - who also happen to be Congressional Black Caucus members - are Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Charlie Rangel (D-NY). It appears, courtesy of newly uncovered recordings, the Republicans will have even more ammunition against the Democrats in the run-up to November 2nd. It's been said that the last refuge of scoundrels is the race card. In light of these two corruptocrats, I'm re-thinking that.

The last refuge for Charlie and Maxine may be the poverty card - exploiting the poor under the guise of caring for them. Both are members of the Socialist Caucus so should we expect any less?

VIDEO: LUKE RUSSERT SLAMS CHARLIE RANGEL

Former head of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel has done the impossible. He's done something so egregious that the Democrats appear to be willing to throw him under the bus. Not only that but he is held accountable in this exchange by an NBC reporter - Luke Russert, son of the late Tim Russert. I am not that familiar with the younger Russert's work but based on what I've been reading, he leans strongly to the left.

You wouldn't know it here, though. He gets under Rangel's skin so much that the congressman from New York actually accuses the network Russert works for as being an illegitimate news source.

Welcome to the club, Charlie.

And here's the added bonus of Rangel telling Jason Mattera to mind his "G**D**N" business. I just knew this would have staying power.

WASHINGTON POST: RANGEL MUST GO

In January, the Washington Post named two managing editors. One of them for hard news and the other for lifestyle / features. Elizabeth Spayd, the new hard news editor was tasked, in part, with taking the paper in a bit of new direction. Speculation began that the Post would become more balanced. It's articles like this one about Charlie Rangel that lend credence to such claims.

QUOTING FROM PARAGRAPH #1:
FOR POLITICIANS with major bad news to release or to make public, there's no time like the dead of August to do it. The thinking goes that the public won't remember a thing come September. We hope Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.) will have no such luck. His belated revelation of previously unreported income, property and bank accounts demands that he step aside as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Much like the man in charge of the Department that oversees the IRS (Geithner) needing to set a good example by paying his taxes, shouldn't the leader of the House Committee in charge of the money its responsible for spending set a good example as well?

I know, I'm being judgmental. Shame on me. What's interesting to see here though is that the Post is going after Rangel the way he should be gotten after.
Mr. Rangel's amended financial disclosure form, which exposes omissions from his 2002 through 2006 records, is a treasure trove of outrage. He neglected to report a checking account with the Congressional Federal Credit Union and one with Merrill Lynch, each valued between $250,000 and $500,000; the tens of thousands of dollars he's earning from dividends from a number of mutual funds and stocks; and the money made from the sale of a Harlem townhouse. As a result, Mr. Rangel's reported net worth doubled, from between $516,015 and $1,316,000 to between $1,028,024 and $2,495,000.
I'm not sure if the Post's circulation is increasing as a result of hiring Spayd but it sure seems like there may be some increased objectivity creeping into the paper.

Rangel may have been able to fall asleep on the beach reading the Post before but something tells me reading THIS ARTICLE won't allow him to.

Here's a link to the piece that announced the promotion of ELIZABETH SPAYD back in January.
