Socialist-Dominated Congressional Black Caucus plan to Race-Bait at Contempt Vote

The Congressional Black Caucus, led by a registered socialist, Emanuel Cleaver, is planning to stage a walkout during the House vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt.

Via The Hill:
The move comes less than 24 hours before the House plans to vote for the first time in history to hold a sitting attorney general in contempt of Congress for not complying with a congressional subpoena. Holder is the first black attorney general in U.S. history.

The walkout is reminiscent of a similar move made by Republicans in 2008 during a Democratic-led vote on whether to hold two senior staffers in President George W. Bush’s administration in contempt of Congress.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) — then the minority leader — led the walkout with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) following closely behind him. Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is the sponsor of the contempt resolution against Holder.
The reference to the walkout in 2008 was not based on race and it did not involve the murder of one Border Patrol Agent (Brian Terry) as well as hundreds of dead Mexican nationals on the OTHER side of the border. It involved holding Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton in contempt for withholding documents relative to the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys by the Bush administration. If you want to make the argument that the documents should have been turned over, fine (I'd probably agree with you). If you want to make the argument that the Republicans shouldn't have walked out, fine. If you want to dismiss the fact that Bill Clinton fired 93 out of 94 total U.S. Attorneys all at once and without consequence, fine.

The contempt citation for Eric Holder is rooted in a demand for documents related to a confirmed lie to Congress on February 4, 2011 when a letter signed by Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich said that the ATF does not allow gun-walking. Ten months later, the DOJ withdrew the letter, an admission that it was false.

As for the Congressional Black Caucus, shouldn't it matter that 67% of its current members were registered with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) caucus in 2009? If you don't include the six freshmen that were elected in 2010, that number jumps to 78%. One of those freshmen is Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL), who joined the caucus likely for reconnaissance purposes more than anything else, suggested there are 78-81 members of Congress who are registered with Communist Party USA. Being embedded with 29 registered socialists in the CBC might serve to lend his charge some credibility.

Socialists and Communists lie. It's part of the rule book (Obama lied about not being registered with a socialist party). The Congressional Black Caucus is dominated by confirmed, registered socialists. 67% of the current 43 members were registered with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) caucus in 2009. Obama's ideological mentor, Saul Alinsky believed that ends not only justify the means but failure to use any means necessary is a sin (that would be a sin against Lucifer, apparently). Check out this excerpt from his book, Rules for Radicals:
"The end is what you want, the means is how you get it. Whenever we think about social change, the question of means and ends arises. The man of action views the issue of means and ends in pragmatic and strategic terms. He has no other problem; he thinks only of his actual resources and the possibilities of various choices of action. He asks of ends only whether they are achievable and worth the cost; of means, only whether they will work. ... The real arena is corrupt and bloody." p.24
Consider the real agenda behind Fast and Furious - putting guns into the hands of bad guys, who would use them to kill innocent people, which would help create the political climate for more gun control in the United States. Sounds bloody, huh?

Following Alinsky's instructions to the letter would permit the sacrifice of innocent people if your desire for gun control is strong enough and if dead bodies furthered that agenda (kinda like abortion furthers Planned Parenthood's agenda). We also know that in 2009, the Democrats - to include Obama and Hillary Clinton - pushed a false statistic that 90% of all guns used to commit crimes in Mexico come from the United States. This has been debunked.

Back to lying communists and socialists. Of the 43 Congressional Black Caucus members who will be walking out of today's contempt vote, at least 67% of them are registered socialists. Discover the Networks has the following to say about how Socialism and Communism is related:
Marxist doctrine holds that just as society evolved from feudalism to capitalism, it will inexorably progress still further to socialism and eventually communism. Communists consider socialism to be an intermediary step between capitalism (out of which socialism is said to grow) and communism. That is, communism (whose motto is “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”) is deemed a further development, or “higher stage,” of socialism (whose motto is “From each according to his ability, to each according to his deeds”). Communism, in other words, is viewed as the more “perfect” of two systems that both advocate public ownership of the means of production, centralized economic planning, and the widespread redistribution of wealth.
The best possible thing one could say about socialists is that they are using a gateway drug that turns them into communists. Not holding a lawless administration accountable for a program that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people might just put any of those socialists who aren't already stealth communists, over the top.

Placing the cherry on top of a heaping pile of irony is the position of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) when it comes to Fast and Furious. Like the CBC, the CHC is dominated by Democrats; Chairman Charles A. Gonzalez is one himself.

On the day that the House Oversight Committee voted to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress - also the same day that Obama asserted Executive Privilege - the Congressional Hispanic Caucus condemned Chairman Darrell Issa for voting in favor of contempt.

Here is a quote from Gonzalez, via NBC Latino:
“Congress must exercise its authority responsibly and in the interest of the American people, not to score partisan political points,” said Charles Gonzalez, Hispanic Caucus Chairman, in a statement. “The Justice Department and Attorney General Holder have provided the Committee leadership with unprecedented access to the documents it requested; yet Rep. Issa refuses to be reasonable. When partisan advantage is the primary motivation, it’s really the American people who suffer,” he added.
Calling 7600 documents out of a population of 140,000 "unprecedented" is a lie; it is a bald-faced one at that. The bigger question is: Why is a caucus that is supposed to represent Hispanics, not standing with those who want to get to the bottom of a government-led operation that led to the deaths of hundreds of Hispanics?

Socialists and Communists lie. Perhaps that explains both the February 4, 2011 letter as well as the behavior of the racially based Caucuses to demands that the truth comes out.

For some reason, this 1963 short film narrated by former FBI Agent Herbert A. Philbrick comes to mind.

Video: Attendees of Holder event think Operation Fast and Furious is a Movie

While speaking at a meeting for the Congressional Black Caucus  Congressional Black Socialists Caucus (save for Rep. Allen West, who has joined the group primarily to annoy the socialists) and the Conference of National Black Churches, attendees were asked what they thought of when they heard the phrase, 'Fast and Furious.' They all thought it was a movie.

Prior to being asked about this, Eric Holder gave the keynote speech, during which he asked for the prayers of those in the audience. If Fast and Furious is dogging him so much, shouldn't the attendees know the specifics about what they're praying for?

Video: Congressman who was worried Guam could tip over now Rapping from Committee

Remember this guy? Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), who actually got reelected after expressing his fear that Guam could become so "overly populated" that it might "tip over and capsize," is back. This time, while chiming in on what happened in the Trayvon Martin case, not only decided to speak using rhyming acronyms but asserted that Martin was "executed" because of his skin color.

Just in case you forgot, here is Johnson from 2010, after which, his people actually put him back in office. Proof that far too many qualified, intelligent people have decided to stay out of politics.

Ron Paul Catching the Wrath of Sheila Jackson Lee

One of the members of the racist group known as the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) is going after Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) over the racist comments that appeared in the latter's newsletters.

Via the Houston Chronicle:
One of the newsletter articles described Rep. Barbara Jordan, a Houston Democrat revered in the civil rights community, as “the archetypal half-educated victimologist, yet her race and sex protect her from criticism.”

The story was covered extensively by the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News in 1996, when Paul sought to reclaim a seat in Congress, and 2007, when Paul was running for the Republican presidential nomination. But the newsletters did not receive significant media attention until last week, when the Texas congressman took the lead in the Iowa presidential caucuses.

Today, the woman who represents the Houston congressional district long represented by Jordan demanded an apology.

“Ron Paul cannot continue to pursue the position of the presidency of the United States of America without formally apologizing and discussing his true positions regarding these newsletter writings,” Jackson Lee said in a statement.
Moments like these lend themselves to Alien vs. Predator comparisons, where both sides are bad and you just want to see each go after the other.

The comment from Paul about Jordan, if she was anything like Lee, is probably not that far off, especially when it comes to her intellect.

Lee, a vice-chair for the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) caucus, once asked if the Mars rover would be able to get some video of the flag Neil Armstrong planted.

Frankly, if Paul wants to see an increase in support, he should probably stand behind the portion of the newsletter that Lee objects to. His problems are likely to come from the likes of David Duke and Donald Black, the founder of STORMFRONT and former American Nazi Party member. They have both expressed support for Paul, in part, based on the content in those newsletters.

As a Republican, Paul could benefit from some raised dander on any member of the CBC but his alleged anti-Israel views coupled with a David Duke endorsement (Duke has said he will vote for Paul but has not officially endorsed him), won't do him any favors.

Video: Obama Recruits for Civilian National Security Force in Front of Congressional Black Caucus

It would appear that Mr. Barack Obama is more petulant than normal these days. Again, while speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus dinner, he exhorted the audience to take off their 'bedroom slippers' and 'put on their marching shoes.' This visible frustration exhibited by Obama is likely the culmination of many things: Fast and Furious, Solyndra, and LightSquared come to mind but it's also likely about the prospect of all the unions and people he's promised money to not getting what they think is coming to them.

His base is expecting to get paid and if they don't, Obama is toast. The threat of them not getting paid is quickly becoming a possible reality Obama is having to confront. The president of the United States is coming precariously close to calling for insurrection here. He also seems to be imploding before our very eyes. Fast forward to the 11:30 mark.

The 'marching shoes' line is very telling because Mr. Obama may have shown us a glimpse of that Civilian National Security force he referred to on the 2008 campaign trail. If there's anyone who is well on their way to being just as well funded as the US Military, it's Obama's union goons.

Video: Did Obama Say 'Jew' Instead of 'Janitor'?

While speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus (Racist organization), Barack Obama appeared to inadvertently say 'Jew' instead of janitor. Here is the relevant quote: 'If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew.... as a janitor, makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honor.' Gaffe aside, in light of the Solyndra scandal and the soaring unemployment rate among blacks during this administration, the words that came out of Obama's mouth were beyond hypocritical; it was projection on steroids. In 2009, he got his $787 Billion stimulus package and the people he claims to want to help got the shaft while his buddies at Solyndra squandered $535 Million.

Video: Either Obama was Lying or he Believes we're not in a Recession

It wasn't that long ago that the debate over the debt ceiling was the top headline. Remember how everyone settled on deficit reduction numbers over the next ten years? The Tea Party didn't want to go along with it but enough House members caved to get it done. Barack Obama's new plan almost perfectly illustrates the problem. He wants to reduce increases in deficit spending (note, he doesn't want to reduce spending, just increases in additional spending) by raising taxes to the tune of $1.5 trillion. There is a very basic economic tenet which says you don't raise taxes in a recession. As recently as August of 2009, Barack Obama himself espoused this principle.

Via Breitbart:

Ok, so for Obama to want to raise taxes, he must believe we are not in a recession, right?

Via the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's proposal to reduce long-term deficits with $1.5 trillion in new taxes is less an opening bid in a negotiation than it is an opening salvo in a struggle to draw sharp contrasts with congressional Republicans.

Obama's proposal is aimed predominantly at the wealthy and comes just days after House Speaker John Boehner ruled out tax increases to lower deficits. It also comes amid a clamor in his own Democratic Party for Obama to take a tougher stance against Republicans. And while the plan stands little chance of passing Congress, its populist pitch is one that the White House believes the public can support.

The core of the president's plan totals just more than $2 trillion in deficit reduction over 10 years. It combines the new taxes with $580 billion in cuts to mandatory benefit programs, including $248 billion from Medicare.
So, which is it, Mr. Obama?

Were you lying in 2009 (that's a shocker) or do you believe we're not in a recession now? If it's the latter, don't tell the Congressional Black Caucus. They're already mad at you for the high unemployment among the black community. Say, doesn't that mean we're in a recession?

More Here.

Congressional Black Caucus Admits to being Racist (sort of)

Forget for a moment that more than 70% of all Congressional Black Caucus members are also registered with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) caucus, which means lying is permitted. When CBC chairman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) - the same guy who lied about being spat on by a Tea Party member - said that if Bill Clinton was the president presiding over such high unemployment among the black community, blacks would be marching on the White House. We are left only to conclude that Cleaver is being racist.

Via Miami Herald:
WASHINGTON — As the debate over jobs turns into the latest political tug-of-war, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri walks a careful but candid line.
As chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, he has been at odds with President Barack Obama over his administration's response to the soaring unemployment rate in the African-American community.

Nearing 17 percent, joblessness among blacks is at a three-decade high and almost twice the size of the overall unemployment rate. The black caucus wants the president to do more.

But the group's efforts are freighted with political sensitivities, given Obama's unique role as the first African-American occupant of the White House and the sometimes untethered animosity that his election has triggered.

"If (former President) Bill Clinton had been in the White House and had failed to address this problem, we probably would be marching on the White House," Cleaver said. "There is a less-volatile reaction in the CBC because nobody wants to do anything that would empower the people who hate the president."
Hey, uh, Emanuel, far be it from me to defend Bill Clinton (I can't stand the thought of it) but the fact is that a 17 percent unemployment rate among blacks DIDN'T exist during the Clinton years and it does now.

The fact is that the black community is suffering more than it has in decades while a president who happens to be black is presiding over that misery. Yet, Emanuel Cleaver and the near 3/4 majority of his caucus who are also registered with a socialist caucus would rather default to inaction because of..... dare I say it?..... RACISM.

Video: Jesse Jackson says Tenth Amendment is 'Slave Amendment'

There can be no doubt after watching this that Jesse Jackson and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) with whom he joined for a town hall last week, are the racists. He called the Tea Party of today the 'Fort Sumter' Tea Party, not the 'Boston' Tea Party because it's all about protecting what he calls the 'slave amendment.' Yes, apparently, embedded somewhere in the tenth amendment is language that promotes slavery. Also, take note of what Jesse says about the Tea Party wanting to repeal the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, which abolished slavery, granted blacks citizenship, and then the right to vote respectively. Again, Jesse's history is flat-out wrong. Republican-controlled congresses are responsible for the passage of all three of those amendments.

Also, take not of a pathetic metaphor Jackson used. He compared the Tea Party to a group of people on the deck of the Titanic who wanted to destroy the captain while (blacks) are still in the hull. I'm having a tough time with believing that the congressmen and women he was sitting with are anywhere near the hull of any ship.

Jesse is coming precariously close to yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater here. After watching, I encourage you to check out my post immediately prior to this one. There are reports that the Libyan rebels - a group Obama supported and the Tea Party largely rejected - are now rounding up blacks.

Just for grins, here is the tenth amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
This must be what Jesse and the CBC see when they read it:
The powers to enforce slavery not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Never thought I'd see it but I think Jesse has reached a new, despicable low.

By the way, at some point, what should we infer by Obama's silence on this increasingly outrageous rhetoric coming from the CBC?

Video: New Twist to Andre Carson's Outrageous Comments about Tea Party

When Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) spoke at a town hall on August 22nd, he egregiously said that the Tea Party wants to see blacks 'hanging from a tree.' To this point, some have referred to a specific portion of his comments as 'unintelligible.' He can be heard saying, 'I'm sorry........" We now know what he said. He said, 'I'm sorry, Tamaron.' Who is Tamaron? That would be MSNBC host and moderator of the town hall, Tamaron Hall. Two things make this revelation significant. First, Hall never reported what Carson said and second, Carson obviously knew he was going to put Hall in a bad spot by saying it.

Here's the video of Carson's rant via The Blaze:

Now NewsBusters is reporting on another NBC employee who was in attendance. Joy-Ann Reid is not just an NBC employee, though. She's also a former aide to Barack Obama:
In addition to Hall, the RealMReynolds blog on Wednesday pointed out that Reid, the anchor's colleague in the NBC family (as managing editor for TheGrio.com), live-Tweeted the CBC town hall. The former Obama 2008 campaign press aide, who bashed Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann as "crazy" and "loopy" earlier in August, and defended Newsweek's "queen of rage" cover of the Indiana congresswoman, actually highlighted Rep. Carson's lynching attack against the Tea Party in a Tweet (while admitting she didn't know his name), but neglected to mention it in her report on TheGrio.com.
Hall never reported on Carson's comments and neither did Reid. Obama has not uttered a peep with regard to denouncing the comments. It's pretty safe to say that the Obama administration is controlling the message coming out of MSNBC and NBC.

For the record, Carson is one of two Muslims in the US Congress with the other being Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). Both are Democrats, both are members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and both have been registered members of the Democratic Socialists of America caucus.

What a disgrace.

Videos: Frederica Wilson says Tea Party the 'Real Enemy,' blames Unemployment on Racism

On Monday, August 22nd, Congressional Black Caucus member and Democrat Rep. from Florida, Frederica Wilson attended a town hall meeting in Miami that was to be followed on day later by a job fair sponsored by the CBC. At the town hall, Wilson apparently took a cue from fellow CBC member, Maxine Waters (D-CA), who told a crowd in Inglewood, CA that the 'Tea Party can go straight to hell.' Here, in this clip, Wilson took the baton and referred to the Tea Party as the 'real enemy.' Why? Because it wants to make Obama a 'one term president.' The irony is priceless. Instead of blaming the Tea Party for why there was a need for a CBC job fair in the first place, why not look to the president, whose policies are the reason for it? By the way, since Frederica is wearing a red hat, is she racist against other colors for hats?

Then, while appearing on MSNBC, Ms. Wilson continued the racist rhetoric. She identified the reason for unemployment in the black community as being the result of "racism." She also donned that red hat again, which really raises suspicions about her racist tendency when it comes to the color red.

Keith Ellison to Herman Cain: He is a 'Bigot'

Yet another example that shows ideology trumps race, which makes one wonder why we need to have a racially based caucus like the Congressional Black Caucus at all. The CBC has already come out against one of its members - Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West - for standing up to far left extremist Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Now, another one of its members, Muslim Keith Ellison, is calling Herman Cain a 'bigot.' If Cain was a member of Congress, he too would qualify to be a member of the CBC, which would mean that Ellison would have to either leave the caucus or concede to belonging to a group that allows bigots. See how this works?

Salon conducted an interview with Ellison in which the CBC member referred to Cain as a 'bigot.' Via Salon:
Over the past few months, former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain has carved out a place as the most prominent anti-Muslim figure in the GOP presidential field, and, arguably, the country.

First, earlier this year, he promised he would not hire any Muslims to be in his future cabinet, subsequently repeating various versions of that pledge. Then, on a trip to Tennessee last week, Cain came out against the construction of a mosque project there. On Fox News Sunday, he expanded that stance, endorsing the idea that any American community could bar construction of mosques.

To get a response to Cain's new comments, I spoke to Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., who is one of two Muslim members of Congress and who has emerged in recent years as a loud anti-anti-Muslim voice.

"It seems like a week doesn't go by without Cain saying something incredibly offensive, so I can only guess that he's doing it on purpose," said Ellison. "He's probably figured out that he can get headlines if he says something really ugly, so he doesn't disappoint."

Ellison said he feels moved to address these issues because when people "start whipping up hatred against a certain group over the course of years, bad things happen. History teaches us that if you continue to stir the pot, stir the cauldron, it will not be long before something awful happens."

A partial transcript of our conversation follows.

What's your reaction to Herman Cain's comments on Sunday that communities should be able to ban construction of mosques?

This is ridiculous and has no foundation in American law. In fact, the U.S. Constitution says Congress shall make no law establishing a religion and shall not abridge the exercise thereof. He runs right into the First Amendment. But the larger question is, why is he trying distinguish himself as the religious bigot of the presidential race of 2011 and 2012?
I will say it until I'm blue in the face. Sharia law is not protected by the First Amendment. It is PROHIBITED by Article VI, which says the US Constitution shall be the 'Supreme Law of the land,' something sharia law aspires to be.

Sorry, Keith. The two are not compatible.

Video: Democrat Congresswoman Shows She Doesn't know where Money comes from

Forget for a moment that Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) is one of the most corrupt politicians in office and won in a landslide anyway. She doesn't understand where money comes from and doesn't understand what 'broke' means, despite Fox's Neil Cavuto repeating it to her over and over and over. There is absolutely no way a woman this devoid of knowledge about economics should ever come close to a government job. As with every Democrat, her answer is to 'tax the rich.' Lost on her are the consequences of such an action at this stage of the game.

The good news is that the Democrats' ability to continue soaking the American people is drying up and their absurd ideas and policies are being exposed for all to see. This video is a must-watch. Johnson continues rambling on about the need to invest in social programs despite Cavuto smacking that strategy over the head with a tire iron by saying there's no money to invest.

The line of the exchange comes toward the end when Johnson asks Cavuto if he wants children 'to run around with no shoes, no clothes, and eatin' off the ground?' The ultimate irony is when a woman who has no idea where money comes from calls for 'common sense' multiple times.

After you digest that insanity, here is a video report from CNN's Anderson Cooper on Johnson's scholarship scandal which, by the way, broke just before the November elections. As I said, she won that election going away. Eddie Bernice Johnson is a microcosm of why this country is $14 Trillion in debt.

Video: Jesse Jackson Jr. wants to Change U.S. Constitution

Jesse Jackson Jr. wants it to be the law of the land that every kid can have an 'iPod' and a 'laptop.' He also wants to fix unemployment by changing the Constitution. The words that came out of Jesse's head hole known as mouth only come from one of two kinds of minds. Either: an uneducated child or a wicked man who wants to see the consequences of such destructive ideas being implemented. Jackson's logic is that if everyone has access to health care, it will drive demand for doctors up. If everyone has the right to a home, it will drive up demand for contractors.

Small problem, Jesse. Where does the money come from? Also completely lost on this corruptocrat is that the Community Reinvestment Act allowed minorities who couldn't afford homes to get them. The CRA(P), more than anything else, helped to put the U.S. economy in the dire straits its in.

This guy better have to testify in the next Rod Blagojevich trial. The first go round implicated JJJ as potentially being the most corrupt of all those involved in Blago's pay to play scandal.

Video: Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West Hits Another Home Run

The star of Lt. Col. Allen West is rising very quickly, more so after being sworn in - yes, that's a slap at Scott Brown - and he continues to endear himself to the Tea Party. Republicans scoff at the notion that West might be electable in 2012 as president; they're probably right but it's based on a false premise that he doesn't have the experience required. Then again, how many presidential candidates have battlefield experience?

West has been in the military for decades and in these times, the next president of the United States needs to have that kind of experience, frankly.

The next best thing would be West's selection as a running mate. Newt Gingrich has already hinted at the possibility. Such a selection would most assuredly do for the Republican presidential campaign in 2012 what Sarah Palin did for McCain in 2008.

Here's another in a long line of examples proving that Allen West 'gets it.'

Lt. Col. Allen West Responds to Request for Apology to Islam

Newly elected Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) recently said that Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) represented the 'antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established' (video below). This apparently got the dander up of some non-Islamic religious leaders who probably sport those nifty 'coexist' bumper stickers on their cars. In the letter to West, the alleged national religious leaders seemed to take West's comments a bit further than what he said and used their own interpretation of what he meant as the basis for attempting to chastise him.

Here is part of the explanation given for demanding an apology:
...your subsequent statement that Representative Keith Ellison, one of your colleagues in the House of Representatives, is the “antithesis of the principles on which this country was established” because he is Muslim, shows a frightening lack of understanding for these values.
You will note that West did not even mention Islam when talking about Ellison's religion. Here is the short clip that prompted the original letter from the Interfaith apologists.

West has apparently decided to tell the coexist extremists to go pound sand with a letter of his own. It will be interesting to see if this is the final word on the matter because it should be. West clarifies that he didn't say Ellison represented the antithesis of America's principles because he is Muslim but because of his ties to CAIR. This is the money quote courtesy of Florida Independent:
“My comments in regards to my colleague, Representative Keith Ellison, are not about his Islamic faith, but about his continued support of CAIR.”
At this point the Coexisties have two options. They can either drop it (best option) or they can decide to double down by defending CAIR (worst option). We'll see if they want to be martyrs for a group that wants them under Sharia law.

Here is a copy of the letter West sent to the gaggle of religious leaders who felt he owed Islam an apology:

Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West (R) vs. Rep. Muslim Keith Ellison (D)

There is a battle brewing between two black congressmen. One is a Ret. Lt. Colonel who has been extremely critical of Islam. The other is a Democrat who happens to be a Muslim. This is a debate we should all welcome because it pits the U.S. Constitution against Shariah Law. Both are supposed to be the Supreme Law of the land in their respective political structures.

Via Afro National News:
Tea-Party backed Congressman Allen West, R.-Fla., has stirred a bees nest with negative comments about Islam. West, appearing on the “Shalom Show,” told producer Richard Peritz that Islam was the “antithesis” of America’s founding principles.

At the outset of the 11-minute interview, Peritz asked West how he was going to deal with members of Congress he disagreed with, especially Rep. Keith Ellison, D.-Minn., who is a Muslim.

“Well I think it’s most important that I stand upon the principles [of the] people that elected me to go to Washington, D.C., and represent them on Capitol Hill,” West responded. “So that when you run into someone that is counter, or someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established, you’ve got to be able to defeat them intellectually in debate and discourse, and you just have to be able to challenge each and every one of their assertions very wisely and very forthright.”
Said Ellison in response...
“Contrary to the views expressed by Congressman West, I work to represent the highest ideals of our great nation – ideals like freedom of worship and respect for all faiths, equal protection under the law as well as a civil and open public discourse,” Ellison said.
Again and again, if Shariah Law is supposed to be the supreme law of the land, Islam's existence is NOT a first amendment issue but an Article VI issue.

Socialist in Congress Tries to Put Leash on Darrell Issa

For the last two years, Edolphus Towns (D-NY) was the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Government Reform. During that time, ranking Republican Darrell Issa attempted on multiple occasions to get him to launch investigations into some very shady activities inside the Obama administration. Towns did not budge. After the elections, Issa became the Chairman and has expressed plans to use his leadership position to issue subpoenas.

Elijah Cummings (D-MD), a registered member of the Socialist Caucus is is the new ranking member of the Committee and is attempting to block Issa's efforts. Cummings replaced Towns as the Democrats' leader of the Committee when Towns stepped aside after the election.

Via the Daily Caller:
Rep. Elijah Cummings, the combative foil to top GOP oversight official Rep. Darrell Issa, is making his first significant power move to cut Issa down to size, demanding authority to stop Issa from issuing congressional subpoenas “unilaterally.”

In a Jan. 24 letter, Cummings claims Issa vowed to him privately to aggressively use his subpoena power “more expansively” than past oversight committee chairmen. Congressional subpoena power gives Issa almost unlimited authority to demand documents and compel testimony from the Obama administration.

Now, Cummings is pushing to give Democrats input on which subpoenas Issa issues and force a committee vote on any he disagrees with.
Issa's office also put forth an explanation for why they believe Towns is out and Cummings is in:
“Rep. Cummings obtained this position by convincing his caucus that he would be a better obstructionist than Chairman Towns or his more senior colleague, Carolyn Maloney. Since assuming the position as Ranking Member, it is evident that obstruction is the only agenda Mr. Cummings in interested in pursuing. Ultimately, the fellow Democratic members of the Committee will have to judge for themselves if they are comfortable with following his path of unilateral obstructionism,” said a spokesman for Issa.

A source close to the committee also denied a key Cummings charge, that Issa had said he would not allow a vote on any subpoenas.

Since Republicans hold a majority on the committee, the proposal by Cummings would not likely give Democrats power to block any subpoenas, but would instead give Cummings and his fellow Democrats another venue to attack Issa on his oversight moves.
In light of the fact that socialists are known liars, I have no doubt that Issa's office is telling the truth when asserting that Cummings was never told there would be no votes on subpoenas.

It's what socialists do.

Video: Another Member of Congressional Black Caucus Cites Constitutionality of Obamacare

In addition to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) is another Democrat who's decided to actually cite the U.S. Constitution in defense of Obamacare. It's completely mis-applied and ridiculous on its face but at least they've decided it's better than Nancy Pelosi's decision to scoff at the question and mock the questioner when she was asked about it back in 2009. More evidence the Tea Party is framing the terms of the debate.

Laughably, both Lewis and Lee are not only members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) but they're registered socialists. Talk about an oxymoron - Socialists are citing the U.S. Constitution to justify socialist policies that are antithetical to the Constitution. The good news is if they're going to argue they're on the right side of the Constitution, they'll lose.

Here's John Lews citing the Fourteenth Amendment - as did Lee - as justification for the individual mandate. In particular, he focuses on the part in Section 1 that says persons should have equal protection under the law. That doesn't answer the question about whether Obamacare is constitutional; it simply says that people will have equal protection under an unconstitutional law.

Via The Blaze:

Here's Nancy Pelosi before Lee and Lewis decided to point to the Fourteenth Amendment. Look for the Democrats in general to pick up the mantra of Lee and Lewis and get ready for some laughs.

Video: Democrat Tones Down Rhetoric by Comparing Republicans to Nazis

The meat in this clip is obviously Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) making the allegation that Republicans are behaving like Nazis after studying Josef Goebbels, by telling a lie over and over until it's believed. The lie, according to Cohen, is that Obamacare is a government takeover of health care. The relevance of the comparison takes on added significance in light of the Democrats' call for toning down the rhetoric after the Arizona shootings but the lies came from Cohen himself in this little diatribe, which only bolsters the case of his opponents.

For starters, he referred to the Tea Party as the 'tail that wags the dog.' The implication of that charge is that the American people are not in charge, the government is. The second thing he said was when he cited a source to make his case. Cohen literally said that PolitiFact is non-partisan, which is like saying water is not wet.

As for the charge that conservatives are behaving like Nazis... In 2007, Cohen became Tennessee's first Jewish Congressman and pledged on the 2006 campaign trail that he would also attempt to become the first white person in the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). But alas, was ultimately told that whites need not apply. Considering that over 70% of the CBC's members are registered with the Socialist Caucus and discriminate based on race, perhaps Cohen is engaging in a bit of projection here. Who else was racist and socialist?

Gee, I wonder.
