STOCKHOLM BOMBER'S TOWN RECEIVED GOVT MONEY TO COMBAT TERRORISM - NO RESULTS

Sweden's Home Office came up with a brilliant plan to dole out money to Islamic groups in return for being informed about which Muslim individuals should be put on an 'at-risk' list. The town where Stockholm bomber Taimour Abdulwahab Al-Abdaly preached received quite a bit of money even though the mosque he preached in didn't accept any. The reason given by the Islamic Center chairman about why his group didn't accept money under the Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) plan might explain why the Home Office received a big fat ZERO in ROI.

Via Daily Mail:
Islamic Centre chairman Qadeer Baksh said: ‘The reason we didn’t take the Government money for the Preventing Violent Extremism scheme is that it requires us to inform on fellow Muslims.

‘If we had taken the money our members would have seen us as working for the Government. The young men with radical views would not have listened to us.

‘I have never called the police or authorities on anyone.’
At least he's honest. Baksh's explanation provides as good a reason as any for why groups that accepted money provided not one single tip to authorities:
Muslim groups in the town where the Stockholm suicide bomber lived have been handed more than £550,000 of taxpayers’ money to combat extremism but have failed to tip off police about a single terror suspect.

The grants were handed out to mosques, schools and women’s projects by Luton council to prevent young Muslims being radicalised.

Under the Home Office’s Preventing Violent Extremism scheme, Islamic organisations are given money to stop members turning to violence. The groups are urged to reveal the names of those likely to commit violent crimes so they can be put on an ‘at-risk’ list by police.

But the Daily Mail has learnt that – despite £554,000 being given to groups in Luton since 2008 – not a single name has been handed over.
I guess we can call this 21st Century Stockholm Syndrome. At some point, shouldn't we also stop wondering why western civilization in general isn't seeing 'moderate' Muslims help much?

AUDIO: AYERS COMPARES JEREMIAH WRIGHT TO MLK

I changed the headline of this post after looking into something Ayers said toward the end of this clip from his interview on Citizen Radio on December 1, 2010 because he actually seemed to be making a pretty serious charge by comparing Jeremiah Wright to MLK. He did so by pointing to a speech King gave on March 18, 1968 called 'America is Going to Hell Unless...' It turns out that Ayers has a very valid point. The fiery speech from King was very reminiscent of Wright. However, that fact should not let Wright off the hook. On the contrary, it should cause us to re-examine King's later years.

At the beginning of this clip, Ayers describes a 'narrative' that was used to paint Obama as a 'shadowy' mystery man, a character who was associated with mysterious and evil people like a former terrorist (Ayers), a radical pastor (Wright), and a former member of the PLO (Khalidi). Ayers lays the origin of this 'narrative' at the feet of Hillary Clinton but the fact of the matter is that it's all true. Obama's past has been wiped clean and there is a treasure trove of things we still don't know about him. The things Ayers says were attributed incorrectly to the list of Obama associates were actually quite accurate.

One thing I've learned about Ayers is that every time he refers to someone he disagrees with as putting forth a 'dishonest narrative,' it means far more often than not that they're telling the truth. An exception may be the claim made by him that MLK was more radical than Jeremiah Wright.

HERE is a link to an interview between Desiree Cooper and Kate Ellis from March 29, 2008 in which the latter was discussing the release of an MLK documentary she had produced. HERE is a link to the MLK speech Ayers referred to.

VIDEO: CHRIS MATTHEWS HEARTS OBAMA'S 'CUTE' SMILE

I think we can safely say that Chris Matthews has officially doubled down on the leg tingle. After watching a clip of Obama talking to the press, Matthews commented that he missed that 'Cute, wonderful, boyish smile we all love.' I actually found the look on Eugene Robinson's face after Matthews went there worth watching because it certainly deserves a caption. At this point, the only thing left for Matthews to confirm is whether or not Obama's 'wonderful, cute, boyish smile' gives him a leg tingle. If that cause and effect relationship does exist, Matthews has a serious problem and should just come out of the closet.
