Patrick Poole at Pajamas Media reports on Michele Bachmann's decision not to back down in the face of attacks from her own party who object to her raising legitimate questions about Huma Abedin. Instead, Bachmann appears to have turned her sights on Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison and his connections to the Muslim Brotherhood through CAIR.
Rep. Keith Ellison Rewrites History on his Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR Ties.
As I wrote here, Ellison's decision to go on the Congressional record with his public letter to Bachmann that defended individuals like Suhail Khan, Mohamed Magid, Huma Abedin, and others may ultimately be a decision he will regret.
If his ties to the Brotherhood are exposed, his defense of those individuals only implicates him further.
Poole has much more evidence in his article but here is video of Ellison giving a videotaped address to a CAIR National fundraiser shortly after he won his election back in 2006:
Here, you are urged and encouraged to run your mouths about something important.

Bachmann fires off 16-Page letter to Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison
It looks like Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) may rue the day he decided to respond with a written letter to five congressman who have legitimate concerns about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration. In response to a 2-page letter from Ellison that accused Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) of only using one source to express concerns to five Inspectors General (State, Justice, DoD, DNI, and DHS) about the possible influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. Government, Bachmann sent Ellison a 16-page Bombshell.
Via SC Times:

Via SC Times:
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is asking how a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got security clearance given what Bachmann describes as the aide’s family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood movement. In his July 12th letter, Ellison attempts to assert that the charges / claims made by Bachmann and four other Congressmen are based solely on one source - Frank Gaffney. Ellison attempted to smear Gaffney in the letter before ending the 2-page letter thusly:
Bachmann also says an investigation of “potential Muslim Brotherhood infiltration” of President Barack Obama’s administration is needed because of interactions between federal agencies and what she calls U.S. front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood, an international Islamist group that recently came to power in Egypt.
The comments come in Bachmann’s new response to U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison’s call for Bachmann to back up the information on which she based a request for federal investigations into whether the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the U.S. government.
Despite Mr. Gaffney’s record of unsubstantiated allegations, you appear to have based your letters to the Inspectors General on his views.
I request that you provide my office a full accounting of the sources you used to make the serious allegations against the individuals and organizations in your letters. If there is not credible, substantial evidence for your allegations, I sincerely hope that you will publically (sic) clear their names. In her 16-page retort, Bachmann refutes the notion that she only has one source and includes 59 new footnotes. Bachmann writes:
I do note that the facts we presented in the Inspector General request letters are based on information presented by U.S. Government officials in court documents, court evidence, correspondence and briefings with Congress and public statements, in addition to known media reporting. These letters were far from sole-sourced as you maintain in your letter.Of all the areas of concern in the letters to the various OIG's, the subject of Hillary Clinton's closest aide - Huma Abedin - having familial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood may have struck the biggest nerve with Ellison. One of the sources Bachmann cites in her letter to Ellison is Jorgen S. Nielsen of the BYU Law Review:
While I can't speak on behalf of the other signatories of these letters, nor am I able to get into the private discussions and documentation received by the various House committees represented by the signatories on these matters that motivated these letters to the various Inspectors General, out of respect to you I am happy to respond to some of your concerns, provide the sources you ask for, as well as clarify a few points that may have been misunderstood or misrepresented.
Professor Syed Z. Abedin (Huma's father) took a different approach in dealing with the contemporary challenged to the traditional Islamic views. Trained in social science and being of Indian origin, Professor Abedin was the founder of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs (IMMA) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, an institution that had the quiet but active support of the then General Secretary of the Muslim World League, Dr. Umar Abdallah Nasif.Incidentally, Nasif (Nasseef) is widely regarded as a Godfather of al-Qaeda. Bachmann continues:
For us to raise issues about a highly-based U.S. Government official with known immediate family connections to foreign extremist organization is not a question of singling out Ms. Abedin. In fact, these questions are raised by the U.S. Government of anyone seeking a security clearance.Something tells me that this is far from over but Ellison has put himself in a bit of a box by penning a letter that puts him on the Congressional record as essentially, defending enemies of the United States (Hamas / Muslim Brotherhood).

Keith Ellison sends reply to Bachmann; uses Republicans to make argument
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim elected to U.S. Congress, has taken great offense at a series of letters sent to the Inspectors General of various Departments and Agencies demanding answers about Muslim Brotherhood influence in the halls of U.S. power.
Ellison has now sent a letter of his own to Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Thomas Rooney (R-FL), and Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA). The letter demands that Bachmann and her fellow congressmen reveal their sources and the evidence of their claims. One of those claims is that Hillary Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, has familial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
You can read more about the case against Huma Abedin and Hillary here but it's also important to focus on the strategy Ellison is employing in his attack against Bachmann; he cites Republican Party officials who have been identified as being problematic in the fight against Islamic fundamentalism.
Ellison's letter, via Think Progress, states:
That document said, in part:

Ellison's letter, via Think Progress, states:
As evidence for these allegations, you reference MuslimBrotherhoodinAmerica.com, a Web site created by Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy (CSP).The sad truth is that Ellison is right about Gaffney's claims, which is an indictment of the people whom Gaffney identifies. Starting at the beginning... In a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document penned by Mohamed Akram, The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) was identified as a Muslim Brotherhood organization.
Mr. Gaffney has a long history of making unsubstantiated anti-Muslim allegations, including:
• Accusing then-ISAF Commander General David Petraeus of “submission” to Islamic law because he condemned Florida pastor Terry Jones’ burning of a Quran;
• Accusing presidential candidate Herman Cain after meeting with ISNA of meeting with “the largest Muslim Brotherhood front in the United States” (language that appears verbatim in your letters);
• Accusing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie of “corruption” and “treason” for appointing a Muslim lawyer to be a judge;
• Accusing anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist of “enabling and empowering Muslim Brotherhood influence operations against our movement and our country”;
• Accusing former Bush Administration official Suhail Khan of conducting a “Muslim Brotherhood Influence Operation” against the American Conservative Union (ACU), the host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), and
• Accusing Republican Virginia House of Delegates member David Ramadan of waging “stealth jihad” by seeking elected office.
That document said, in part:
The Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.Ok, so instead of Ellison pointing to Herman Cain's visit with the head of the ISNA - Mohamed Magid - in 2011 as a refutation of Bachmann's concerns, Americans should be questioning Cain's decision to do so.
Of course, let's not forget Chris Christie's bombastic response to a legitimate question about why he appointed a Muslim with questionable ties to a county judgeship. His defense of Sohail Mohammed is definitely suspect.
Then, of course, there is the Grover Norquist / Suhail Khan dynamic. Here is video courtesy of Jay Mark Campbell from CPAC 2011. Note the absurd claim by Khan, whose father was an early founder of both ISNA and another Muslim Brotherhood group - the Muslim Students Association (MSA), that there is "no Muslim Brotherhood in the United States." Take note at the 2:45 mark, where Khan doesn't just lie but he pretends that the lifework of his father doesn't exist.
Isn't that a bit disrespectful?
Khan and Grover Norquist go way back. Conservatives who tend to blindly support the Republican Party as the best of two options should be extremely wary. In much the same way that the Democratic Party was infiltrated, there are forces at work that seek to do the same with the Republican Party, whether wittingly or unwittingly. By using the argument that he does, Ellison seems to be banking on those who blindly support the Republican Party.

Muslim Congressman targets Michele Bachmann for raising questions about Huma and Hillary
Keith Ellison (D-MN) may be engaged in a bit of 'thou doth protest too much' relative to concerns about Hillary Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin. He's got a problem with a letter sent to the Office of the Inspector General of the State Department penned by five congressmen - led by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) - who want more information about these revelations.
From the SC Times, via Think Progress:
As for Huma's marriage to Anthony Weiner, Muruna very well could explain that.
Consider, if Huma's mother is Muslim Brotherhood and Huma married a Jew, two questions must be asked:
1.) Why hasn't Saleha denounced her daughter for marrying a Jew?
2.) Why hasn't Huma denounced her mother for belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood?
Stay tuned...
No, really, stay tuned...
From the SC Times, via Think Progress:
Rep. Keith Ellison, DFL-Minneapolis, said in a statement that he’s puzzled by Bachmann’s comments. Ellison, the first Muslim-American elected to the U.S. Congress, said he doesn’t understand why Bachmann would make such accusations through the press if she has information that’s as sensitive as she claims. Here is the relevant excerpt from the letter to the OIG at State:
“If she has sources for this type of information, she owes it to the country to reveal them to the proper authorities, but definitely not this way,” Ellison said. “If she doesn't have this type of information, she should not be whipping up fear and hysteria about a very important matter.”
...the Department's Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members - her late father, her mother and her brother - connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations. Her position affords her routine access to the Secretary and to policy-making.Back to Think Progress. Check out the Bio of Huma Abedin that they posted in their attack on Bachmann:
Abedin was born in the United States, attended college at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and the popular Clinton aide is also married to former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner (NY).Conspicuously absent from that Bio is where Abedin resided between the time she was born in the U.S. and when she returned to attend GWU. Here is a slightly more detailed bio via Fox News Insider:
(Huma) was born to two professors in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Why would Think Progress omit that part about Saudi Arabia? Could it have something to do with the fact that Huma's mother - Saleha Abedin - was a prominent member of the Muslim Sisterhood's leadership there?
She moved with her Indian father and Pakistani-born mother to Saudi Arabia when she was two.
She returned to the United States to attend George Washington University.

Video: Muslim Congressman channels John Belushi
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) was on the O'Reilly Factor to discuss the situation with Iran possibly getting nuclear weapons. When O'Reilly tried to explain to Ellison that our mindset is reminiscent of the same mindset we had about Hitler before Nazi Germany came to power, Ellison responded by making reference to the attack on Pearl Harbor. O'Reilly's reaction to Ellison at that point was almost as funny as the faux pas itself.

Video: Keith Ellison says Regulations Create Jobs
There are really only two possibilities here. Either Keith Ellison is lying, er, I'm sorry, failing to meet the duty of candor, OR he is such an economic changeling, he thinks that restricting business actually grows business. Follow the logic here. Ellison believes that because businesses have to hire people to enforce increased government regulations that those regulations actually create jobs. Apparently lost on this genius is the rise in cost without increased revenues. That's partially why the business he's in is over $14 Trillion in debt. I supposed Ellison thinks giving $535 Million to a company that produces solar panels for $6 and sells them for $3 is an excellent business model too.
I'm going with economic changeling.

Keith Ellison to Herman Cain: He is a 'Bigot'
Yet another example that shows ideology trumps race, which makes one wonder why we need to have a racially based caucus like the Congressional Black Caucus at all. The CBC has already come out against one of its members - Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West - for standing up to far left extremist Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Now, another one of its members, Muslim Keith Ellison, is calling Herman Cain a 'bigot.' If Cain was a member of Congress, he too would qualify to be a member of the CBC, which would mean that Ellison would have to either leave the caucus or concede to belonging to a group that allows bigots. See how this works?
Salon conducted an interview with Ellison in which the CBC member referred to Cain as a 'bigot.' Via Salon:
Sorry, Keith. The two are not compatible.

Salon conducted an interview with Ellison in which the CBC member referred to Cain as a 'bigot.' Via Salon:
Over the past few months, former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain has carved out a place as the most prominent anti-Muslim figure in the GOP presidential field, and, arguably, the country.I will say it until I'm blue in the face. Sharia law is not protected by the First Amendment. It is PROHIBITED by Article VI, which says the US Constitution shall be the 'Supreme Law of the land,' something sharia law aspires to be.
First, earlier this year, he promised he would not hire any Muslims to be in his future cabinet, subsequently repeating various versions of that pledge. Then, on a trip to Tennessee last week, Cain came out against the construction of a mosque project there. On Fox News Sunday, he expanded that stance, endorsing the idea that any American community could bar construction of mosques.
To get a response to Cain's new comments, I spoke to Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., who is one of two Muslim members of Congress and who has emerged in recent years as a loud anti-anti-Muslim voice.
"It seems like a week doesn't go by without Cain saying something incredibly offensive, so I can only guess that he's doing it on purpose," said Ellison. "He's probably figured out that he can get headlines if he says something really ugly, so he doesn't disappoint."
Ellison said he feels moved to address these issues because when people "start whipping up hatred against a certain group over the course of years, bad things happen. History teaches us that if you continue to stir the pot, stir the cauldron, it will not be long before something awful happens."
A partial transcript of our conversation follows.
What's your reaction to Herman Cain's comments on Sunday that communities should be able to ban construction of mosques?
This is ridiculous and has no foundation in American law. In fact, the U.S. Constitution says Congress shall make no law establishing a religion and shall not abridge the exercise thereof. He runs right into the First Amendment. But the larger question is, why is he trying distinguish himself as the religious bigot of the presidential race of 2011 and 2012?
Sorry, Keith. The two are not compatible.

Video: Brigitte Gabriel Suggests Congressman a Jihadist
It's really a shame that people who warned of this likely reality at the time Keith Ellison was elected - including Brigitte Gabriel - were not listened to then because as time has elapsed, as America has learned more about Islam, the charges have been bolstered, not debunked. In this short video, Gabriel, an arabic native of Lebanon, explains two Islamic terms - Taqiyya and Kitman. Both are variations of a similar Islamic principle: It's ok to lie if doing so furthers the cause of Islam. Rep. Ellison (D-MN), a Muslim, was elected in 2006 and took his oath while placing his hand on the Qur'an.

Video Shocker: Bill Maher Confronts Keith Ellison over Qur'an
Earlier this week, the first Muslim elected to U.S. Congress - Keith Ellison - while at Peter King's radical Islam hearing, invoking the name of a Muslim who died on 9/11 and then proceeded to bawl in a case of misplaced and transparent melodramatic theatrics. It was embarrassing.
Then he appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher. Don't let the initial softball question discourage you. Stick with it because Maher - as an atheist - appears to be getting a bit fed up with the Qur'an and it appeared to catch Ellison off guard.
Here is Ellison crying like a little girl. Ya think Ellison cried like this after the Fort Hood shootings?
Since then, it's been learned that the Muslim Ellison was crying theatrical crocodile tears over was never a victim of anti-Muslim bigotry; he was even given virtual 'hero' status in, of all things, the Patriot Act.
National Review has more.

Lt. Col. Allen West Responds to Request for Apology to Islam
Newly elected Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) recently said that Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) represented the 'antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established' (video below). This apparently got the dander up of some non-Islamic religious leaders who probably sport those nifty 'coexist' bumper stickers on their cars. In the letter to West, the alleged national religious leaders seemed to take West's comments a bit further than what he said and used their own interpretation of what he meant as the basis for attempting to chastise him.
Here is part of the explanation given for demanding an apology:
West has apparently decided to tell the coexist extremists to go pound sand with a letter of his own. It will be interesting to see if this is the final word on the matter because it should be. West clarifies that he didn't say Ellison represented the antithesis of America's principles because he is Muslim but because of his ties to CAIR. This is the money quote courtesy of Florida Independent:
Here is a copy of the letter West sent to the gaggle of religious leaders who felt he owed Islam an apology:

Here is part of the explanation given for demanding an apology:
...your subsequent statement that Representative Keith Ellison, one of your colleagues in the House of Representatives, is the “antithesis of the principles on which this country was established” because he is Muslim, shows a frightening lack of understanding for these values. You will note that West did not even mention Islam when talking about Ellison's religion. Here is the short clip that prompted the original letter from the Interfaith apologists.

This is the money quote courtesy of Florida Independent:
“My comments in regards to my colleague, Representative Keith Ellison, are not about his Islamic faith, but about his continued support of CAIR.”At this point the Coexisties have two options. They can either drop it (best option) or they can decide to double down by defending CAIR (worst option). We'll see if they want to be martyrs for a group that wants them under Sharia law.

Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West (R) vs. Rep. Muslim Keith Ellison (D)
There is a battle brewing between two black congressmen. One is a Ret. Lt. Colonel who has been extremely critical of Islam. The other is a Democrat who happens to be a Muslim. This is a debate we should all welcome because it pits the U.S. Constitution against Shariah Law. Both are supposed to be the Supreme Law of the land in their respective political structures.

Tea-Party backed Congressman Allen West, R.-Fla., has stirred a bees nest with negative comments about Islam. West, appearing on the “Shalom Show,” told producer Richard Peritz that Islam was the “antithesis” of America’s founding principles.Said Ellison in response...
At the outset of the 11-minute interview, Peritz asked West how he was going to deal with members of Congress he disagreed with, especially Rep. Keith Ellison, D.-Minn., who is a Muslim.
“Well I think it’s most important that I stand upon the principles [of the] people that elected me to go to Washington, D.C., and represent them on Capitol Hill,” West responded. “So that when you run into someone that is counter, or someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established, you’ve got to be able to defeat them intellectually in debate and discourse, and you just have to be able to challenge each and every one of their assertions very wisely and very forthright.”
“Contrary to the views expressed by Congressman West, I work to represent the highest ideals of our great nation – ideals like freedom of worship and respect for all faiths, equal protection under the law as well as a civil and open public discourse,” Ellison said.Again and again, if Shariah Law is supposed to be the supreme law of the land, Islam's existence is NOT a first amendment issue but an Article VI issue.

VIDEO: LIBERAL REPORTER SAYS VIOLENT RHETORIC COMES ONLY FROM THE RIGHT
Eugene Robinson, far left writer at the Washington Post was on MSNBC with Keith Olbermann hours after the Safeway shooting in Tucson, AZ and demonstrated exactly why he should have no credibility. He said that 'violent rhetoric' comes 'exclusively from the right.' Small problem, he's flat out wrong and Breitbart has linked to the quintessential example that demonstrates why. Two months prior to the shooting, MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan interviewed Ted Rall, who was promoting his book, the Anti-American Manifesto and called for a Revolution.
Forget the fact that the individual responsible for the Safeway massacre appears to be from the left. At least we now know that he's an atheist, reveres flag burning, and considers the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf two of his favorite books.
This is just bald-faced lying and quintessential hypocrisy.

REP. KEITH ELLISON SHOWS HOW ISLAM AND MARXISM CAN CO-HABITATE
While speaking at the Network of Spiritual Progressives Conference in June, 2010 Keith Ellison openly wished that U.S. borders would become an 'irrelevancy' but now we're learning more about what went on at this conference, courtesy of Aaron Klein. Ellison's rhetoric didn't end there. He clearly demonstrated what can only be described as disgust for this country. Why would such a person want to be an elected official? Apparently, also in attendance were some Marxists. Among them was Michael Lerner, who edits Tikkun Magazine which is pro-Palestinian and Cornell West, an avowed Marxist.
At WND, Klein links to an article written by Marta Mossburg at the Baltimore Sun, who gave an account of the conference back in July:

At WND, Klein links to an article written by Marta Mossburg at the Baltimore Sun, who gave an account of the conference back in July:
Mossburg wrote that Lerner used the conference to bolster support for Obama. It would make sense that Lerner's world view aligns with that of Obama. Lerner used to be an activist in Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), the same group that birthed the Weather Underground. Mossburg also reported that Lerner compared the Tea Party to Hitler at least five times.
"We're here to support Obama. …We're here to help him to be the Obama Americans thought they elected," she quoted Lerner as saying.
Lerner said Obama attended Tikkun meetings in Chicago and used to read the magazine, according to conversations he had with Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.

VIDEO: FIRST MUSLIM CONGRESSMAN WANTS BORDERS TO BE IRRELEVANT
The first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress is coincidentally one of the more progressive members; he's one of the 70 members of the body that is also a registered socialist. Now there is a video of him vocalizing a dream that one day America's borders will become an 'irrelevancy.' I wonder why he doesn't say this on the floor of the House when he's advocating for the DREAM Act, which would be one step closer to making borders irrelevant. It's moments like these caught on camera that might help to explain why an arm of the Obama administration (the FCC) wants to control the internet.

AUDIO: MUSLIM CONGRESSMAN CALLS FOR CRISIS
Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). In fact, he's one of the super majority of its members who is a registered socialist. He, like the only registered socialist in the Senate - Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is unwilling to accept Obama's compromise on the tax rate extensions in return for another year of unemployment benefits. So what does Ellison want to break the impasse? Apparently a 'Crisis.'
While appearing on (ahem) NPR in Minnesota, Ellison called for just that. Via Breitbart:
Another point Ellison tried to make in that video is that the rich people who will see their tax rates remain the same don't just buy yachts; they also buy congressmen. That's quite interesting when one considers where Ellison got much of his campaign moneyin 2006 - from the CAIR-Hamas-Saudi Arabia connection. Pathetic.
Oh, here's that list of 70 Congressmen who are also registered socialists. That means Ellison is a socialist Muslim.

VIDEO: AD FROM CHALLENGER TO MUSLIM CONGRESSMAN
In light of how Alvin Greene (D) won his primary in South Carolina - by having a name similar to singer Al Green, maybe the Republicans in Keith Ellison's district can get a similar break in the general election. Ellison's opponent, Joel Demos has a last name that might subliminally tell voters he's a Democrat.
All that aside, Demos has released a very well done ad.
Ellison's ties to CAIR are very disturbing and should be a major campaign issue. Demos has an opportunity to exploit that issue but not sure if he will.
With the Ground Zero Mosque in the news daily at this point, Demos should press Ellison on the matter as well as the incumbent's ties to CAIR. Via Discover the Networks:

Whether Demos wins or not, like Toomey in Pennsylvania, he can do the nation a greater service by shining a light on his opponent.

VIDEO: LONE MUSLIM CONGRESSMAN ON HEALTH CARE
Interesting to see Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) admit that the public option is a trojan horse for single payer. I actually find myself having a bit more respect for him on this issue than I do for the likes of Paul Krugman, Kathleen Sebelius, Rahm Emanuel, and Barack Obama. Each of them has been caught on tape saying they want single payer but need to get there incrementally with a trojan horse.
At least Ellison is truthful about his intentions on health care. I'll say that for him.
Let's remember though, this guy is a far lefty. Grab a pen and see how many absurd assertions you can count coming out of his mouth.
