Video: Infamous Dallas County Commissioner Threatens Reporter

Remember this guy? Dallas County commissioner John Wiley Price, who happens to be black, is the same dude who took offense when a white colleague of his used a 'black hole' metaphor when describing central collections. Price objected, saying such a reference was racist. This time, Price assaulted WFAA reporter Brett Shipp with an open palm to the throat and then threatened to 'split' Shipp's 'neck.' The assault and the threat were both captured on camera.

DALLAS — Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price physically accosted WFAA reporter Brett Shipp while Shipp was trying to gain access to Price's county office Wednesday morning.

Price struck Shipp with an open palm to the throat during a News 8 investigation of county equipment and purchases.

The incident occurred when Shipp was asked by Commissioner Maurine Dickey to accompany her to Price's Langdon Road office to gain access to storage sheds located on the county complex.

The News 8 video shows Brett Shipp, WFAA producer Mark Smith and photographer Billy Bryant following Commissioner Price and others as they attempted to enter the office front door.

People don't usually act this way unless they have something to hide but the bigger issue here is that a county commissioner should face real consequences for assault and threats. In this video report, you can hear Price tell Shipp 'I will split your neck' at least twice.

VIDEO: RACIST CUP CAKES

Duncan Hines had to pull an ad for its new cupcake glazing product because it offended some black groups as being racist. You'll note at the end of the commercial, however, that white groups with the same level of hypersensitivity would have a case that it portrayed them as being completely unable to carry a tune. Stereotypes for both groups were used in this spot. I think it says quite a bit that one group was offended and one wasn't.

Cupcakes aren't tasting so sweet for some Duncan Hines marketing execs who were forced to pull a video for their "Amazing Glazes" frosting line after viewers and bloggers complained the dancing cupcakes were racist.

The commercial, which features chocolate-frosted cupcakes singing a harmony, was released on YouTube with the title "Hip Hop". Along with that title, the cupcakes featured exaggerated lips and eyes and more hummed a melody – that was decidedly un-hip hop.

The spot, while pulled by Duncan Hines, is on YouTube.

For some reason the reaction to the racist cupcakes is reminiscent of Dallas County commissioner John Wiley Price's reaction to a "Black hole" analogy used by one of his white colleagues.

VIDEO: DALLAS BLACK HOLE COMMISSIONER AT IT AGAIN

Last year, Dallas county commissioner John Wiley Price took offense when fellow commissioner Ken Mayfield likened central collections to a "black hole". Price, who is black, took it personally. He's done it again.

This time he challenges a judge who tries to get him to come to order.
