Video: Is Trayvon Martin's killer a Democrat?

This post comes with a caveat. The first video you see appears to be from a news report but there is no identifying news outlet. That is a bit of a red flag and I seriously considered not posting it until I saw that the website from whence I found it corroborated many of their claims with verifiable sources / links.

According to this video - linked from the Black and Hispanic Tea Party (BHTP) website - Zimmerman is a registered Democrat:

Here is another reason I posted that video. BHTP reports that Zimmerman's father is a retired magistrate who is connected to the (Sanford?) Police Department:
George Zimmerman is a Democrat and his father is a retired magistrate judge with connections within the police Department, and the police worked overtime to make certain that Zimmerman was given the benefit of the doubt just for merely saying that it was self-defense without a further investigation and just released.  It’s no wonder the Democrat-run union police department in Sanford, Florida released Zimmerman and gave him the benefit of the doubt; Democrats have a long history of Racism in America. That’s why Blacks are coming back home to the Republican Party.  Democrats only value the lives of Black people when its time to vote.
This is a CNN news report that backs up the claim that Zimmerman's father was a magistrate:

Can you imagine the circular firing squad within the Democratic Party if Zimmerman (a Hispanic) is a registered Democrat who got out of a murder charge because of the political connections his father has with the Sanford Police Department?

***UPDATE: 3/26/12*** Looks like the aforementioned news report referring to Zimmerman as a "self described Democrat," is legit. It's from an NBC 6 report in Miami. One other thing about that report sticks out. In it, Zimmerman is said to have a history that includes a domestic violence charge and an incident in which he shoved the cop; charges were dropped after community service. Two questions arise as a result. One, did his father have any involvement in the dismissal and two, in light of his alleged tendency toward violence, was Zimmerman the best candidate for neighborhood watch and a gun?

Video: Has Santorum just given us his 'acted stupidly' moment?

If there's one fact about the Trayvon Martin murder case that I feel comfortable echoing with the absolute certitude of personal conviction, it's that we don't have all the facts. That's what makes the comments from Rick Santorum during his appearance on Face the Nation so troubling. Santorum is obviously drawing conclusions based on a premise that says George Zimmerman pursued Trayvon Martin so that he could kill him.

This is a narrative that has been pushed by the mainstream media and the mainstream kooks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson but it is NOT one that should be furthered by Santorum, especially in light of evidence courtesy of a newly revealed witness who says Martin attacked Zimmerman. Doing so makes Santorum appear as if he's attempting to score political points.

Take note of what Santorum does here, while trying to place himself above both Obama and Gingrich. He singles out Zimmerman as someone who "has a very sick mind," and had "a malicious" motive.

Via Daily Caller:

If Santorum is right, he will be proven to have been quite prescient. However, if he is wrong, he will have jumped to conclusions without having all of the facts (just like Obama did during the Henry Louis Gates controversy). Here is a video from ABC's Good Morning America that features Zimmerman's personal friend Joe Oliver (who is black) and Zimmerman's attorney. Note that Oliver says Zimmerman 'couldn't stop crying' after the murder.

Occupy Oakland is back for 'Spring Offensive,' using Trayvon Martin killing as fuel

We knew this was coming. The Occupy movement miscreants - who cried uncle in the face of disease, rapes, murders, assaults, arson, mountains of human waste, and the bitter winter cold - have climbed back out of their holes (made warm by someone else's hard work). Perhaps the city with the worst reputation when it comes to the OWS movement (worst of the worst) is Oakland, which is coincidentally, where Van Jones is from.

As added incentive, Occupy Oakland is using the Trayvon Martin killing as fuel for its crime spree, masked as a righteous encampment.

Via Police One:
OAKLAND, Calif. — Occupy Oakland activists have set up a new encampment in a park north of downtown, calling it a response to the recent arrests of protesters in New York and the shooting death of an unarmed Florida teenager.

About a dozen people in six tents spent Wednesday night in Mosswood Park at Broadway and West MacArthur Boulevard. They were still there Thursday.

Police visited the group around 9 a.m. but did not ask them to leave, according to protesters.

"This is the start of the spring offensive," said Melvin Kelley, a member of the group's Tactical Action Committee. "This is our new encampment until May 1, when we retake" Frank Ogawa Plaza, which the group occupied last year.

Kelley said the activists had pitched tents to show support for Occupy Wall Street protesters who were arrested in New York's Zuccotti Park last week while commemorating the six-month anniversary of the movement.

They are also protesting the killing of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African American who was shot to death by a white man in a gated community near Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 26. The man, George Zimmerman, says he was defending himself against the unarmed teen and has not been arrested.
The description of Zimmerman as a "white man" is a bit misleading. He is actually a Latino. Say, are these OWS movements made up of any Hispanics? If so, and Zimmerman is exonerated (this is a possibility, at least based on one witness account), will those Hispanics continue to side with the movement?
