Video: Jon Stewart addresses Mitt Romney's Mormonism

Now this is an interesting approach. Comedy Central's Jon Stewart does an entire segment on Mitt Romney's religion and comes across as defending it while still keeping it an issue. In fact, Stewart chides conservative evangelical leaders for chiding Mormonism. He also criticizes MSNBC hosts Lawrence O'Donnell and Martin Bashir for attacking Romney over religion.

It's important to remember, though, that it's not about the left coming to Mormonism's defense. It's about keeping the issue in the public eye. Stewart did just that here. Segments like this one will help Barack Obama.

Ouch: Stephen Colbert Proxy-Circumcizes Dead Mormons

Tasteless? Yes. Relevant? Certainly. A foreshadowing of what to expect if Mitt Romney becomes the Republican nominee? Not only is it a foreshadowing but it's a small chip of ice from the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

It started with CNN delving into the Mormon practice of baptizing dead people by proxy, in which a living Mormon is baptized and simultaneously baptizes ten or so dead non-Mormons in an act of posthumous conversion. CNN made it news when it did several stories on the outrage of Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, who understandably had a problem with Holocaust victims appearing on the list.

Most recently, it was learned that Anne Frank appeared on the Mormon list. Here, Stephen Colbert gets quite down and dirty with the Mormon practice and brings out a Jewish intern to posthumously convert several dead Mormons to Judaism. Note during this clip that Colbert plays an excerpt from MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell referring to these proxy baptisms.

Anyone who supports a Romney nomination better wake up because he will be bludgeoned by this issue and he will lose not because of his liberal record, his flip-flops on abortion, his being pigeon-holed as part of the 1%, or RomneyCare. All of that will be dwarfed by what the liberal media will do to him over his religion.

Oh, and Romney has admitted to participating in these proxy, posthumous baptisms.

Question: Has anyone seen Colbert do anything remotely close to this when it comes to Islam?

Video: Liberal Slapped Multiple Times, Feels Nothing

If this clip wasn't the result of extremely good editing, the liberal mind is sicker than we thought. The woman who appears to be intellectually vacant is Froma Harrop and she runs a journalism outfit that has teaching people how to engage in argument / debate without being uncivil, as its primary goal. When Comedy Central's John Oliver confronted Harrop on her use of the term 'economic terrorism' to describe Tea Party conservatives, she failed to see any modicum of irony or hypocrisy.

In fact, she doubled down while Oliver ratcheted up the mocking quotient, which continued to remain lost on Harrop.

Video: Comedy Central's Jon Stewart Mocks Man behind Lowe's Decision to Pull Advertising

The Florida Family Association's David Caton appears to have been successful in getting Lowe's Home Improvement to pull its advertising off of The Learning Channel's show, All American Muslim. His argument is being severely twisted by the left-wing media, including Comedy Central's Jon Stewart. In essence, Caton is saying that the show is an inaccurate depiction of Muslim life. In this clip, Stewart mocks Caton profusely by twisting the premise to make it sound like Caton would be happier if TLC played to his allegedly stereotypical view of Muslims.

What Stewart misses - and what Caton has failed to adequately enunciate - is that the Imam featured heavily in the program is a terrorist-supporting extremist. Husham Alhusayni supports Hezbollah and the reality about how he runs his mosque in Dearborn, MI is far different from how he is portrayed in the television program. The argument is not that TLC is refusing to play to stereotypes. The argument - and the truth - is that it is portraying radicals as moderate.

There will be much more on Alhusayni coming out in the next few days.

Video: Jon Stewart Rips Project Gunrunner

You know this story is hitting the mainstream when Comedy Central's Jon Stewart picks it up. Though he gets the story basically correct, the way in which he portrayed the agents who blew the whistle on this operation was in poor taste. If someone is unfamiliar with this story before seeing it on Comedy Central, he/she would walk away thinking that Agents John Dodson and Rene Jacquez were willing participants and incompetent themselves. What Stewart doesn't communicate here is that without those two agents, Stewart wouldn't be reporting on this story at all.

Issa was apparently NOT HAPPY with Stewart's bit either.

On another note, I had this letter in my inbox. It's penned by Rep. Darrell Issa to ATF's Deputy Director William Hoover. Apparently the Oversight Committee Chairman is concerned about the agents who testified at the June 15th hearing - John Dodson, Olindo Casa, and Peter Forcelli - being subjected to retaliation by ATF. One of those agents (Dodson) was basically mocked in Stewart's bit on the scandal.

Video: Jon Stewart Tells Fox News Sunday Host Chris Wallace he is 'Insane'

Once Chris Wallace and Comedy Central's Jon Stewart get the niceties out of the way, this interview begins its trek into the absurd rather quickly when Stewart actually asserts that he doesn't believe the likes of the New York Times, Washington Post, and other mainstream media outlets do not have a liberal agenda. Yes, he said that. He excuses MSNBC by saying that it is attempting the Fox News Channel model for programming. In other words, MSNBC is 'attempting' to push a liberal agenda because Fox is making them do it.

It goes even further downhill after Stewart tells Wallace the latter is 'insane.' One note before watching. During the interview, Stewart cites unnamed 'polls' that show Fox News consistently has the most misinformed viewers. Unfortunately for Stewart, George Soros is behind at least one of those polls.

Video Shocker: Bill Maher Slams Muslim Men for Treatment of Women

Some things simply amaze and this segment on Bill Maher's Real Time is one of those things. Bill Maher has successfully branded himself as an unhinged, blasphemous, and vile liberal. That's what makes this exchange with his panel - Tavis Smiley in particular - so unexpected. Maher's point here is that the Muslim / Arab men mistreat their women so much more than do their western counterparts. Smiley's point is that women are mistreated in both places and as a result, the Muslim world shouldn't take an unnecessary hit. It's almost like reverse moral relativism.

The possible explanation for Maher's seemingly conservative position in this case is that his contempt for religion is universal while liberals typically only have contempt for Judaism and Christianity.

The highlight comes at the 5:35 mark when a member of the far left audience gets in on the act and shouts incoherently at Maher about drone attacks being on par with mistreatment of women. Maher rightfully points out it's an apples and oranges argument.

Maher said at least one thing that was absolutely false, however and it comes at the end: "When you tolerate intolerance, you're not really being a liberal." It silenced Smiley though.

Video: Katie Couric's Wish is Granted - Muslim Quos'by Show

Back in December, the world's problems were solved by Katie Couric when she suggested that a Muslim version of the Cosby Show would help to ease tensions between east and west. Thanks to Jon Stewart, Katie's wish is the left's command. Interestingly, Feisal Abdul Rauf even volunteered to do an interview for this segment and whole heartedly endorsed Couric's idea; that should raise plenty of red flags for Katie - that is, if her IQ was at an acceptable level.

It wasn't and whether she knows it or not, Katie was the butt of this entire segment.

VIDEO: IS OBAMA KEYNESIAN OR KENYAN? NO DIFFERENCE?

What do you think of when you hear the name John Maynard Keynes? At the risk of avoiding redundancy, the sane see him as the source of a failed economic strategy that seeks to revive an economy by furthering debt and stimulating growth by funding infrastructure projects (let the government fix things). It's really anti-capitalist and has no place in a free society. However, there is a contingent of people, as you'll see, who think the name 'Keynes' is synonymous with being from Kenya. At the 'Restoring Sanity' rally hosted by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, a man held up a sign that said 'Obama = Keynesian.' What happened next..... well, you have to see to believe. Remember, these people have the right to vote.

I found that reminiscent of when the guys at the 'Man Show' walked around with signs that said, 'End Womens' Suffrage.'

AUDIO: INTERVIEW THAT GOT RICK SANCHEZ FIRED AT CNN

On September 30th, CNN's Rick Sanchez appeared on the Sirius Satellite radio program of Pete Dominick, who actually used to work for Comedy Central's Jon Stewart of the Daily Show. Sanchez was obviously sensitive to the treatment he has received from Stewart lately, so much so that he believes Stewart's attacks on him are racially motivated. His conclusion, based on that premise, was that Jon Stewart is a 'bigot.' Dominick stuck up for Stewart and actually got Sanchez to retract the 'bigot' comment; Sanchez changed his word choice to 'prejudicial.'

Dominick may have saved Sanchez at that point, had Sanchez dropped it. He didn't and what likely got him fired one day later was his scoffing at the notion that Jews are not minorities and that 'everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart.'

The two parts of this clip happen around the 1:00 and 9:00 marks. HERE is more on Pete Dominick's site.

VIDEO: JON STEWART RIPS DEMS OVER CONSPIRACY THEORIES

Don't look now but Comedy Central's Jon Stewart might just becoming the man to go to when attempting to determine how far out on the fringe the Democrats are when they have to defend the indefensible. The latest example involves none other than South Carolina Democratic nominee Alvin Greene.

The Democrats are so visibly apoplectic at Greene's victory, their talking points include blaming Republicans for planting Greene as some sort of prank. Predictably, the leftwing media machine is playing right along, doing the bidding of the Democratic leadership.

Enter Stewart, who if nothing else, doesn't fall into line as easily as the liberal lapdog media. When Stewart rails on the Democrats, the latter needs to look in the mirror. Interestingly, he seems to be doing it more often.

VIDEO: COLBERT ANALYZES GLENN BECK PHENOMENON

Laughed out Loud several times watching this. As someone who rarely misses Beck's program, I took no offense to this roasting at the hands of Colbert. On the contrary, this segment on Beck would likely garner him more viewers. I particularly liked when James Carville's analysis of Beck was shown. Carville called Beck "nuts" and a "blatant hypocrite".

As he did so, I think Glenn Beck was inside his head.......yelling.

VIDEO: JON STEWART SLAMS ACORN AND MEDIA

Yes, you read that headline right. Jon Stewart from Comedy Central slammed both ACORN and the media that didn't uncover their willingness to aid and abet prostitutes and pimps. The truly bigger story within the story here is that Stewart's demographic is not only substantial but it's made up of younger voters who reject Fox News, conservative blogs, and talk radio.

In addition, many of them literally get their dose of news from Stewart, who provides a comedic leftist spin to the majority of his stories. His audience is somewhat politically malleable based on Stewart's take on things. He could have defended ACORN or made the story about the "paranoid right".

He didn't and he should be commended. He slammed ACORN and he slammed the media (one day after Charlie Gibson said he didn't know anything about the scandal).

Laughter is a very disarming thing. Stewart disarms his audience with laughter every day. It garners him some credibility among them. He expresses a view in between laughs and people pay attention. Whether that view is right or wrong is not important. What is important is that those views are internalized and digested by most loyal and regular members of his audience.

While fewer people watch Stewart than do Fox News, this is HUGE. Stewart may not even realize how much good he did by being intellectually honest on this story. I don't say this often but Jon Stewart, thank you.
