The liberal, race-baiting whackos over at MSNBC who seem to think that no president has been so disrespected publicly, point to Joe Wilson, Jan Brewer, and Neil Munro as proof positive that it has more to dow the color of Obama's skin than his propensity for lying about things like never belonging to a socialist political party. Well, thanks to Tom Blumer at NewsBusters, we learn from none other than one of the left's own propaganda arms - the AP in 1987 - that Ronald Reagan endured similar treatment.
Another common refrain from the left is that Munro should have waited until After Obama was done speaking before lobbing any questions the President's way. Munro's response to that argument is that Obama doesn't stick around to answer questions. That was the knock on Reagan in the AP report, which goes a step further, saying that Reagan was to blame for doing so.
Does anyone know the Heimlich maneuver? The irony I'm choking on has blocked by airways.
That all leads me to this exchange via NewsBusters on MSNBC between two race-baiters - Michael Eric Dyson and POLITICO's Joe 'Brother Joe' Williams. Note how Williams said no president has been disrespected more than Obama and then implies it's all because of racism.
A 78-year-old man walking home in Toledo, OH was attacked by several youths - both black and white - in what could be a hate crime. Not only that but they shouted, 'Remember Trayvon' while beating Dallas Watts. The Toledo Blade reports that Watts may have invoked the name 'Trayvon' first, in an attempt to diffuse the situation but it appears that racial epithets were hurled at Watts while he was being beaten.
The story of Trayvon Martin's killing has been spun by race-baiting opportunists, apparatchiks, and a sycophantic media all too eager to do their bidding. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) all fed the hatred by pushing forth a narrative that has been manufactured and false, in order to push a racial agenda. Based on the information that has come out in the days since, that's really not up for dispute.
While gasoline was being poured on the fire in Sanford courtesy of those men / groups, a white man was nearly beaten to death by two black men wielding a hammer - in the same area (Sanford) where Trayvon was killed. Suspicions remain about the motivations of those two men but maybe when their victim can be taken off life support, he can help us find out.
In the case of Dallas Watts, his assailants appear to have been fueled, in part, by the Trayvon shooting.
Mr. Watts said one of the boys delivered a single blow to the back of his head during the incident Saturday, knocking the victim to the ground.
At one point, the victim recalled being lifted from the ground so one of the boys could "drop-kick" him in the chest.
One boy, he said, put his foot on the back of the victim's neck, with another shouting, "Kill him."
While Mr. Watts was down the boys kicked him, over and over, shouting, "[Get] that white [man]. This is for Trayvon ... Trayvon lives, white [man]. Kill that white [man]," according to a police report.
Again, using the logic of the left, Sharpton and Company are guilty.
This man is an utter disgrace. Here is video of Al Sharpton from twenty years ago, explaining exactly how he is able to manipulate the media in race cases. By the way, that would be the same media that is now - thanks to this video being available for every member of the liberal media to view - willfully complicit in the furtherance of Sharpton's tactics from this point forward.
When it comes to the Trayvon Martin murder, the mainstream media has tried to push a narrative very similar to the one it manufactured in the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting - with the added fuel of a racial angle - on the American people. That narrative (sometimes overt, other times implied) has been that Trayvon's killer was a conservative Republican. He was also a white male who, while bitterly clinging to his gun and his religion, stalked a young black teen and shot him just because of the color of that teen's skin.
Tailor-made for the predispositions of the race baiters who profit from rubbing raw - in quintessential Alinsky fashion - the sores of discontent, right?
Uh, not so much. George Zimmerman is a latino and a Democrat. In fact, the media is generally ignoring that fact, referring to Zimmerman as a "white hispanic," whatever that is. In a normal world, those things shouldn't be relevant but in order to blunt the incendiary tactics of the mainstream media, which is full of liberal apparatchiks, seemingly irrelevant and tangential facts must be underscored in order to diffuse the racially charged climate created by the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
Now, as I wrote about here, the possibility exists that Zimmerman shot Trayvon because the latter actually went for the former's gun.
George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch crime captain who shot dead 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, originally told police in a written statement that Martin knocked him down with a punch to the nose, repeatedly slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun, a police source told ABC News.
Zimmerman had claimed he had called police about Martin, whom he found suspicious, then went back to his car when Martin attacked him, punching him.
The new information is the most complete version yet of what Zimmerman claims happened on the night of Feb. 26 when he shot and killed the teenager.
In addition, an eyewitness, 13-year-old Austin Brown, told police he saw a man fitting Zimmerman's description lying on the grass moaning and crying for help just seconds before he heard the gunshot that killed Martin.
The fact remains that we don't have all the facts as the left continues to manufacture false realities.
When Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot early last year, the mainstream media thought it had the perfect political narrative; a deranged Tea Party conservative was driven over the edge by Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin's target chart.
Again, Uh, not so much. Jared Loughner was apolitical at best and if he wasn't, he was a deranged leftist who listed the Communist manifesto as one of his favorite books.
Someone please tell me why this guy is still a Catholic priest. There's nothing quite like race-baiting from the pulpit while using visual aids to help you do it. St. Sabina pastor (and Jeremiah Wright / Barack Obama friend) Michael Pfleger used a wooden statue of Trayvon Martin holding bags of skittles and Iced Tea to make his point from the altar that blacks need to demand justice from their government. Disgraceful doesn't even begin to explain this.
One question: If the Catholic Church refuses to defrock / excommunicate this guy, how can it be expected to do the right thing with Obama's HHS contraception mandate?
Interesting interview with the attorney for George Zimmerman, Craig Sonner. Notice toward the end what Sonner says in response to a question about whether the shooting was racially motivated. Also discussed in this interview is a New Black Panther Party (NBPP) poster that's being widely distributed. It says, "Wanted Dead or Alive" and features a photo of Zimmerman. More on that after Fox interview with Sonner.
Here is video of New Black Panther Party (NBPP) leader, Mikhail Muhummud, leading a press conference in which he called for the firing of the local police chief and said that Zimmerman should be in fear for his life. Take note too that Muhummud also announced that NBPP national leader, Malik Zulu Shabazz will be making his way down to Florida as well.
It looks like there is shocking new evidence to come out in the Trayvon Martin case and it involves a witness who claims to have seen the entire episode. He was interviewed by the Fox affiliate in Tampa and appears to paint a picture of what happened that is completely different from the narrative being pushed by the typical race-baiters. The fact remains that Martin was unarmed but if the testimony from this witness is accurate, it points to Martin actually attacking Zimmerman.
The meme being pushed by the race-baiters is that Zimmerman was going after Martin while talking to a 911 operator, who told him not to continue. The implication - if you listen to the race baiters - is that Zimmerman kept pursuing Martin while also being the only one of the two with a gun. This witness, who would not go on camera, seems to indicate that Zimmerman listened to the 911 operator and turned back before Martin attacked him.
Again, according to this witness, Zimmerman fits the description of the person who was on the bottom of a scrum between two people and Martin fits the description of the person who was on top, attacking him. The fact remains that Zimmerman was the only person in possession of a gun so if he shot Martin, it may have been a case of excessive deadly force in response to what Martin was doing to him. That could be offset by one possibility. Was Martin going for Zimmerman's gun?
We still don't know the answers to these questions but that doesn't seem to stop the race baiters. Anyway, here is the news report from Fox's Tampa affiliate (h/t Free Republic):
We all remember when President Barack Obama was asked about the arrest of his friend and (black) professor, Henry Louis Gates. He jumped to conclusions after admitting he didn't "have all the facts" and said the "police acted stupidly." As those facts came in, we learned that the police acted lawfully and it was our president who acted stupidly by speaking without the facts he admitted he did not have. It led to the face-saving and now infamous White House beer summit. Conclusions were jumped to based almost entirely on race.
Now, after the initial reports of the Trayvon Martin shooting painted the picture of an innocent boy returning home from the store with little more than a bag of skittles, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have already assumed their roles as bomb-throwing race-baiters who love to rub raw the sores of racial discontent. Obama, who either doesn't understand the size of his pulpit or does and loves to misuse it, said that if he had a son, he'd "look just like Trayvon."
Mr. Obama should be careful because he's coming precipitously close to saying that George Zimmerman acted stupidly. Whether he did or didn't, as Obama said prior to being proven wrong in the Henry Louis Gates case, "we don't know all the facts."
One other thing to note here. Zimmerman is Hispanic.
If race baiter = racist, Geraldo Rivera is now a premium club member. On his radio show, Geraldo actually said that the way in which Gingrich addressed Juan Williams at the Fox News debate last week was a 'racial epithet.' Forget the fact that Williams was implying that Newt was racist (race card). Apparently, that was no problem. Forget the fact that the crowd collectively rejected Williams race-baiting attempt. This was all about painting Newt as the racist because of the way he said, 'Juan.'
Listen to the whole thing because Geraldo actually says that Jimmy Carter was 'very underrated.'
The liberal media is continuing to double down with Newt like it did with Sarah Palin but they don't seem to realize that every time they do, Newt gives better than he gets.
Interesting theory put forth by Jeffrey Kuhner at the Washington Times. Holder is going after states that have passed voter ID laws. In particular, South Carolina has passed one that says before you can vote, you must present one of five specific forms of ID. Holder is likening this to Jim Crow and says its discriminatory because more minorities are without ID than are whites.
Reading Kuhner, you can't help but conclude Holder doesn't believe this at all. He's just using the argument to gin up anger amongst the minorities to motivate them to vote:
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. claims Jim Crow is returning. In a recent speech, Mr. Holder said that attempts by states to pass voter identification laws will disenfranchise minorities, rolling back the clock to the evil days of segregation. He said that a growing number of minorities fear that “the same disparities, divisions and problems” now afflict America as they did in 1965 prior to the Voting Rights Act. According to the Obama administration, our democracy is being threatened by racist Republicans. Hence, the Justice Department must prevent laws requiring a photo ID to vote from being enacted.
Mr. Holder argues that voter ID laws disproportionately discriminate against poor blacks and Hispanics - citizens who cannot afford to acquire a driver’s license, passport or other form of photo identification. The latest victim is South Carolina; its voter ID law has been blocked by the Justice Department. Liberal Democrats - taking their cue from the White House - are portraying the national movement for election reform as an authoritarian assault upon civil liberties. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has even petitioned the United Nations, asking it to declare states’ voter ID laws human rights abuses. For the radical left, America has become Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
This would be comical if the consequences were not so serious. South Carolina’s legislation provides for free ID cards to be given to anyone who needs it. Not one person - white, black or brown - is discriminated against or discouraged from casting a vote at the ballot box. Moreover, the Supreme Court already has ruled on the issue - upholding state voter ID laws. In the 2008 Crawford v. Marion County Election Board decision, the high court held that an Indiana law mandating photo identification at the voting booth was indeed constitutional. If it is good enough for the Supreme Court and the overwhelming majority of the states, then it should be for Mr. Holder as well.
It isn’t. And the reason is simple: The administration is trying to whip up minority frenzy, propagating the myth of widespread ballot suppression. The goal is to foster a sense of racial persecution of blacks, intending to maximize voter turnout in November. The results, however, will be to poison race relations further. Mr. Holder is cynically playing the race card in order to achieve President Obama’s overriding ambition: re-election.
There are just some things that are beyond despicable and this is one of them. Perhaps that's why it's one of the Ten Commandments (Bearing false witness comes to mind). What would make a black man pose as a member of the KKK and send threatening letters to City Hall? Was there not enough hate in the community to suit Justin Kidd? Who knows? Seeing this story, though, reminded me of a Dave Chappelle character named Clayton Bigsby, who was a 'black' white supremacist who was also blind.
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Sentencing will be held in January for a black man who admits posing as a member of the Ku Klux Klan in sending racist letters in 2006 to a police department and city hall in his former southwestern Illinois hometown of O'Fallon.
Justin Kidd, 28, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in East St. Louis to charges of conveying false threats in O'Fallon.
Federal prosecutors say Kidd mailed a letter to the O'Fallon Police Department in November 2006 that threatened to burn down an apartment complex if blacks were not barred from living there.
Absent this being an issue of race, these are tactics employed by none other than the most heinous and despicable men of history. Hitler was a master at this kind of stuff.
There was also a similar incident that took place shortly after the election of Barack Obama. In 2008, another black man named Dyron Hart, posed as a KKK member on Facebook and threatened other blacks.
When Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) spoke at a town hall on August 22nd, he egregiously said that the Tea Party wants to see blacks 'hanging from a tree.' To this point, some have referred to a specific portion of his comments as 'unintelligible.' He can be heard saying, 'I'm sorry........" We now know what he said. He said, 'I'm sorry, Tamaron.' Who is Tamaron? That would be MSNBC host and moderator of the town hall, Tamaron Hall. Two things make this revelation significant. First, Hall never reported what Carson said and second, Carson obviously knew he was going to put Hall in a bad spot by saying it.
Now NewsBusters is reporting on another NBC employee who was in attendance. Joy-Ann Reid is not just an NBC employee, though. She's also a former aide to Barack Obama:
In addition to Hall, the RealMReynolds blog on Wednesday pointed out that Reid, the anchor's colleague in the NBC family (as managing editor for TheGrio.com), live-Tweeted the CBC town hall. The former Obama 2008 campaign press aide, who bashed Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann as "crazy" and "loopy" earlier in August, and defended Newsweek's "queen of rage" cover of the Indiana congresswoman, actually highlighted Rep. Carson's lynching attack against the Tea Party in a Tweet (while admitting she didn't know his name), but neglected to mention it in her report on TheGrio.com.
Hall never reported on Carson's comments and neither did Reid. Obama has not uttered a peep with regard to denouncing the comments. It's pretty safe to say that the Obama administration is controlling the message coming out of MSNBC and NBC.
For the record, Carson is one of two Muslims in the US Congress with the other being Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). Both are Democrats, both are members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and both have been registered members of the Democratic Socialists of America caucus.
On Monday, August 22nd, Congressional Black Caucus member and Democrat Rep. from Florida, Frederica Wilson attended a town hall meeting in Miami that was to be followed on day later by a job fair sponsored by the CBC. At the town hall, Wilson apparently took a cue from fellow CBC member, Maxine Waters (D-CA), who told a crowd in Inglewood, CA that the 'Tea Party can go straight to hell.' Here, in this clip, Wilson took the baton and referred to the Tea Party as the 'real enemy.' Why? Because it wants to make Obama a 'one term president.' The irony is priceless. Instead of blaming the Tea Party for why there was a need for a CBC job fair in the first place, why not look to the president, whose policies are the reason for it? By the way, since Frederica is wearing a red hat, is she racist against other colors for hats?
Then, while appearing on MSNBC, Ms. Wilson continued the racist rhetoric. She identified the reason for unemployment in the black community as being the result of "racism." She also donned that red hat again, which really raises suspicions about her racist tendency when it comes to the color red.
By stating that people who want voter ID laws passed are engaging in Jim Crow-style tactics, Bill Clinton actually implicates himself in the commission of the same. After blacks were given the right to vote - by Republicans - the KKK, which was the armed wing of the Democrat Party, would terrorize blacks and Republicans who attempted to vote. In attacking voter ID as being inherently racist, Clinton is simply engaging in much softer version of what his ideological predecessors did.
In a speech to liberal youth activists Wednesday, the former president called out proposals in battleground states like Florida and Ohio that could limit the voter rolls.
“I can’t help thinking since we just celebrated the Fourth of July and we’re supposed to be a country dedicated to liberty that one of the most pervasive political movements going on outside Washington today is the disciplined, passionate, determined effort of Republican governors and legislators to keep most of you from voting next time,” Clinton said at Campus Progress’s annual conference in Washington.
“There has never been in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the Jim Crow burdens on voting, the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today,” Clinton added.
Clinton mentioned Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s move in March to overturn past state precedent — including under former GOP governors — that allows convicted felons to vote once they’ve served they’ve finished probation periods.
“Why should we disenfranchise people forever once they’ve paid their price?” Clinton said. “Because most of them in Florida were African Americans and Hispanics who tended to vote for Democrats. That’s why.”
Such rhetoric is beyond irresponsible. When blacks attempted to vote after the Fifteenth Amendment had been ratified, KKK members would threaten to kill them if they voted Republican. By comparing the implementation of very rational laws to the motives of the KKK, Clinton is engaging in similar, albeit, much less overt techniques; he is trying to get people to view Republicans as his party should be viewed. It's really no different from modern-day German socialists who blame the Jews for the holocaust.
Jesse Jackson is like those Japanese soldiers after WWII who didn't know the war was over. Jesse is still living and fighting in the 1960's. He's even decided to do so while living in a parallel universe of the 1860's in which the northern state of Wisconsin is secretly wanting to fly the Confederate flag over its capitol.
Then he says the black middle class is 'government-driven.'
How would you like some red meat with that Tea? Coming right up. His name is Gov. Paul LePage and after being asked by a reporter for his response to the NAACP's claims that his being unavailable to attend ceremonies honoring Martin Luther King Jr., is problematic responded with, 'Tell them to kiss my butt.' Immediately after that, he began laughing and pointed to his handler as being uncomfortable? My question to that handler is why? I'm sure the vast majority of calls into the Governor's office in response to his comments will be positive.
Ask yourselves. How many Americans would love to tell the NAACP to kiss their butt? Can you tell my hand is raised? Better question might involve how long it will take before we start hearing LePage for President.
It has long been shown that when the race card is played, it means the argument is lost and a racism charge is the last arrow in the proverbial quiver. However, while Rep. Steve King (R-IA) was on Anderson Cooper, he was accused by a black farmer of being racist for using the word 'urban' to describe Barack Obama. Yes, if you call someone 'urban' - meaning that said individual comes from an urban area - you are apparently a racist. Pretty soon, the 'U' word will be taboo too, unless you ARE one, of course.
One more thing. The exchange here between King and a black farmer named John Boyd is about the recent decision to award more monetary awards for black farmers via the 'Pigford' case. King is by far and away on the right side of this issue, which was brought to light several months ago during the Shirley Sherrod episode.
As for the merits of the Pigford case - there really aren't any left at this point. Pigford was about monetary awards to black farmers that were discriminated against. Zombie perfectly illustrated how Pigford has been overplayed back in July. Specifically, there are more claims than there are black farmers.
Ever since the Tea Party movement started, these 'Obama-as-Hitler' signs have been showing up at their rallies. The liberal media has been all too willing to focus on them in order to paint the Tea Party as hateful and racist. For some reason, that same liberal media continues to overlook what's at the bottom of these signs - a web address for the LaRouche PAC. Lyndon LaRouche is a far left socialist who has consistently failed to win the Democrat nomination for president because he's too far left for even them.
Though that doesn't prevent him from identifying himself as an FDR Democrat. I'd say they're infiltraitors but if they are, it makes no sense for them to have 'LaRouche PAC' plastered on their signs. If they're trying to kill two birds with one stone, that's not working much either.
It's apparently lost on the liberal media that when they show these protestors in their news reports about how racist the Tea Party is, they're actually just shining a light on the racism within their own ranks.
Incumbent Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) is facing a challenge from a Vietnamese man named Van Tran for the state's 47th district. Amazingly, Sanchez appeared on Univision and removed her mask, revealing a racist woman, who just so happens to be a sitting congresswoman. In this 30 second clip, you will hear Sanchez mix both the race and fear cards in an attempt to motivate her constituents to vote for her, not because she's the better candidate but because the Vietnamese and the GOP are targeting her seat. She goes on to say that Tran is anti-immigrant and anti-Latino.
What a disgrace. By the way, aren't the Democrats supposed to have a history of fighting for the Vietnamese against American imperialism? Oh, that was only the Vietnamese communists. Sanchez should have made that distinction instead of lumping all Vietnamese into the same group. The Viet Cong should be so angry with her.
I guess the Ground Zero mosque has revealed more racism in America. It was worse than we thought, apparently. The Obamacare debate taught us that 60% of Americans were racist for opposing it. Now, recent polling shows that 71% of Americans oppose the Cordoba mosque at Ground Zero. By my calculations, that means that 11% of Americans are both in support of Obamacare and RACIST. Well, in true leftwing fashion, when facts aren't on your side, just make 'em up.
Members of the Congressional Muslim Staff Association (CMSA) hosted a panel discussion on Capitol Hill Tuesday to discuss the perception of Islam among Americans in the wake of the current debate over the proposed Park51 Islamic center and mosque project to be located just two blocks from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan.
The primary point of agreement among all three panel participants was that those who oppose Muslim initiatives — such as the so-called “Ground Zero” mosque — are Islamaphobic and ignorant. A recent CBS poll revealed that 71% of Americans believe it is inappropriate to build a mosque so close to the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Salam Al-Maryati, president of Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), Dr. Azizah Al-Hibri, chairwoman of KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights, and Dr. James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute (AAI), were the participants on the panel entitled,“Muslims in America: Myths and Realities — A discussion on faith in the wake of the Park 51 Controversy.”
We have truly reached a pathetic level of discourse when anti-semites are successfully portraying 71% of Americans as Islamophobic. Notice that MPAC's president and co-founder Salam Al-Maryati has a problem with the 3/4's of Americans who oppose the Mosque.
That's a problem of hypocritical proportions so blatant, it should knock anyone onto the floor once they process it. MPAC has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a virulently anti-semitic organization under which multiple nefarious groups reside, including al Qaeda, Hamas, and CAIR. One of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1946 was a close ally of Adolph Hitler during the war. Al-Maryati, when given the chance, has refused to condemn Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Did I mention anti-semites are calling people Islamophobic (racist)?
Another group identified in the Caller's piece is the Arab American Institute (AAI), which has suspicious positions and ties as well. It's been increasingly screaming about racism ever since 9/11 and insisted that Saddam Hussein never supported terrorism. Even the majority of those who opposed invading Iraq should find that comment to be over-the-top egregious.
This one is very interesting. A black woman named 'Grace' called in to Dr. Laura's show claiming that her white husband says 'racist' things about black people to his friends and she's offended by it. Schlessinger then asks for examples because some people can be 'hypersensitive'. Grace proceeds to giver her one and Dr. Laura dismisses Grace's indignation as overblown. In the process of explaining why, Schlessinger points to the double standard that exists with respect to the use of the 'N' word. Except, she doesn't say 'N word' - she says the 'N' word.
I also found it interesting that as part of Grace's outrage in response to Dr. Laura uttering such a word simply because of the word and regardless of context, Grace then says it herself. Question: if, as Grace claims, it's the word itself and not the person who says it, why is it ok for Grace to say it?
This still has to play out but Dr. Laura's apology may have done her more harm than good. We all know the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons usually do their heaviest pouncing AFTER the apologies. It's the race-baiting progression. Once the race card is played effectively, the next card to play is the guilt card. Apology = guilt and the race baiters know it. Moreover, Dr. Laura didn't just let it slip out. She had a reasoned argument that involved her rationale for using the word in the context that she did. With this apology, she also seems to be destroying her entire argument.
Something the Race-baiters may want to consider before pressing forward on attempts to call for Dr. Laura's firing. Schlessinger is syndicated all over the country and while she's conservative, her show is about relationships, not politics. If she is forced off the air, she'll likely be replaced by a far more political conservative talk show host.
