Gotta say, the Ron Paul echo chamber bugs me as much as the next guy but this ad absolutely nails Newt Gingrich and the latter needs to not only answer for these very legitimate concerns but he must convince voters that he has had a 'Road to Damascus' experience.
This is a torpedo from the Paul campaign and I want to like Newt but this makes him a hard guy to root for. The flip side is that if Paul showed any signs at all that he understands the Islamic threat to western civilization, he might be the next guy to surge.
At least Paul is 'keepin' 'em honest.'

Video: Occupy Monterey Protester Demands 'Peaceful' Exchange, then Smacks the Guy
OWS Schizophrenia, Turret's Syndrome, and hypocrisy all in less than 30 seconds. The guy you see in this video is an OWS protester who we'll call 'Plaid shorts.' He is using a camera phone, just like the guy who recorded this video (that's important to the story). After having difficulty explaining why he can't produce his group's permit, Plaid shorts accuses the recorder of this video of not being 'peaceful' right before he smacks him in the head for - get ready for this - recording him with a camera phone.

Court Seals Agent Brian Terry's Murder Records
We very well be learning why Attorney General Eric Holder is so testy these days. It very well may be the result of a confluence of events that are taking their toll. Aside from the fact that he will be in front of three tenacious bulldogs in Darrell Issa, Trey Gowdy, and Jason Chaffetz on December 8th during the House Judiciary Committee hearing, the bizarre sealing of Brian Terry's murder records raises even more concerns about stonewalling.

Here is the video report of the story about that missing third gun:

Via Judicial Watch:
The Obama Administration has abruptly sealed court records containing alarming details of how Mexican drug smugglers murdered a U.S. Border patrol agent with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico.
This means information will now be kept from the public as well as the media. Could this be a cover-up on the part of the “most transparent” administration in history? After all, the rifle used to kill the federal agent (Brian Terry) last December in Arizona’s Peck Canyon was part of the now infamous Operation Fast and Furious. Conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the disastrous scheme allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels.Of course, one of the most disturbing allegations relative to Terry's murder is that the gun used to kill him was likely a third gun at the scene, put in the hands of an FBI informant BY the FBI. That gun has apparently disappeared. While two guns recovered at the scene were put in the hands of the bad guys by the ATF's Fast and Furious operation, the missing weapon would point to something far more nefarious, in addition to a cover-up on the part of whoever disposed of that alleged third gun.

Video: Founder of Daily Caller Responds to Holder's Conspiratorial Charge Against them
Tucker Carlson, founder of the Daily Caller, appeared on Fox and Friends to respond to Attorney General Eric Holder's bizarre finger-wagging moment with DC reporter Neil Munroe. Munroe asked Holder to respond to the fact that 52 congressmen have called for his resignation over the Fast and Furious scandal. Holder's response was more of a brief conspiratorial tantrum.
Here is Carlson's appearance on Fox and Friends to discuss the encounter as well as the likelihood that Holder will eventually resign.
Again, Holder is in front of the House Judiciary on December 8th and it will be one of the most compelling hearings in recent history.

Newt Praised Obama's Death Panel-loving Medicare Czar?!
As Newt has been climbing in the polls, it's easy to get sucked in by his debating skills, enunciation of conservative principles, and attacks on the liberal media we all love to vicariously revel in. The problems all of those things are currently masking simply cannot and should not be dismissed. Here is another one and it was shocking, to say the least.
Donald Berwick, Obama's medicare czar who recently stepped down from a post granted him via recess appointment has a record of fawning over the British health care system. Newt is on record as practically fawning over Berwick.
This is disturbing.
Via David Catron at the American Spectator:
Read it all.
Donald Berwick, Obama's medicare czar who recently stepped down from a post granted him via recess appointment has a record of fawning over the British health care system. Newt is on record as practically fawning over Berwick.
This is disturbing.
Via David Catron at the American Spectator:
When I read that Donald Berwick had resigned from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), I nearly shouted for joy. The cheer died on my lips, however, when my eye caught the following headline among those retrieved when I sent my search engine after more information: "Gingrich-Endorsed Health Care Expert Don Berwick Forced to Resign." Surely, I thought, the gods cannot be this cruel. But they are, of course, as another search confirmed. Newt has indeed lauded Berwick as a pioneer in the quest to improve American health care. The former Speaker is already on record as a supporter of insurance mandates, and it has lately come to light that he endorsed stepped-up end-of-life counseling. Combined with those afflictions, Gingrich's praise of Berwick will send his health care credibility straight to Forest Lawn.
The Berwick boost was included in an opinion piece that Gingrich wrote in August of 2000 for the Washington Post. The column begins with an absurdly over-the-top metaphor equating day-to-day hospital operations with a Concorde crash that had occurred a week earlier: "Imagine that we had an airline crash every day, taking the lives of more than 250 Americans… a tragedy of similar proportions is occurring right now in American hospitals." Gingrich based this grotesque analogy on a highly questionable report by the Institute of Medicine titled, "To Err is Human," which claimed that as many as 98,000 preventable deaths occur in U.S. hospitals each year. This study, which is still cited by Obamacare supporters, was denounced at the time by the Journal of the American Medical Association as "exaggerated" and "shrill."Catron then points out that Gingrich liked the idea of end of life counseling instead of expensive treatment:
In 2009, he (Gingrich) wrote another Washington Post column in which he echoed a refrain often heard from people who believe we should ration care to the elderly: "More than 20 percent of all Medicare spending occurs in the last two months of life." Rationing advocates like Berwick typically bring this particular datum up to demonstrate how much money we can save by not providing expensive treatment to people who are soon going to die anyway. Oddly, they rarely mention the inconvenient fact that many people receive the same expensive treatments and live for far longer than two months, or even two years. Gingrich's column also fails to note this reality.Look, at some point, the discussion about getting the government out of the insurance / health care business needs to take place. Instead of talking about how expensive it is to care for people when so many people don't pay into the system, we should be talking about letting the free market solve a lot of these problems (opening up insurance lanes across state lines for an example). For some inexplicable reason, the insane cost of bureaucracy never gets targeted. As much as anything else, Newt's arguments seem to underscore a premise that says big government is the answer. That's almost as much of a problem as his lauding Berwick.... for anything more than being able to tie his own shoes.

DNC Continues Doing Conservatives' Work for Them
I think it's safe to say Mitt Romney's campaign is regretting the ad it produced that took Obama's words completely out of context. It seems that ever since that ad, the DNC has been taking direct aim at Romney. What Romney did would have been like McCain hammering Obama on Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright before locking up the nomination.
In 2008, the Democrats / liberal media wanted to run against McCain. Once McCain became the nominee, they went after him. Before Romney's ad that dissed Obama, he was shaping up to be the DNC's John McCain in 2012 - left alone until getting the nomination. Instead, it appears that Romney kicked a sleeping dog with that ad and the DNC is coming after him with both barrels.
Tea Party conservatives who are searching for the Not-Romney candidate are welcoming these attacks with open arms. The DNC is now promoting Romney as the John Kerry of 2004 on steroids... and they're right, which is an amazing thing to hear myself say.
Anyway, here's the latest from the DNC:
Almost as good is this exchange between Fox's Bret Baier and Romney in which the former challenges the latter on his 2007 immigration stance versus the stance he took after Newt Gingrich seemed to echo it.
Baier shines a spotlight on Mitt the flip-flopper here.

Along these lines, consider an article written by none other than Alan Dershowitz in 2007. In it, he makes the case that Jimmy Carter was beholden to Arab interests.
Here is an excerpt:
The extent of Carter's financial support from, and even dependence on, dirty money is still not fully known. What we do know is deeply troubling. Carter and his Center have accepted millions of dollars from suspect sources, beginning with the bail-out of the Carter family peanut business in the late 1970s by BCCI, a now-defunct and virulently anti-Israeli bank indirectly controlled by the Saudi Royal family, and among whose principal investors is Carter's friend, Sheikh Zayed. Agha Hasan Abedi, the founder of the bank, gave Carter "$500,000 to help the former president establish his center...[and] more than $10 million to Mr. Carter's different projects."Fast forward to 2008. Remember when Percy Sutton claimed that he was approached by Khalid al-Mansour to write a letter of recommendation for Obama so the latter could get into Harvard? At the time, Mansour was a very close adviser to Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal who, if Sutton was truthful here, would have been the man behind Obama's entry into Harvard:

Video: Chris Christie Rips Obama
This is the kind of talk from Chris Christie that led to talk about him running for president. Using passionate rhetoric, he asked the perfect rhetorical question of Obama: 'What the hell are we paying you for?' He also did a much better job of drawing a line of distinction between OWS and the Tea Party than he did several weeks ago.
Notice toward the end of the clip, Christie uses the word 'astonishing' to describe what Obama is doing / not doing relative to the economy. It's only astonishing if you don't accept the premise that says Obama is doing all he can to collapse this economy. It is vintage Cloward-Piven and the president has enough ties to that crowd to close the case, especially when one looks at what he's done.
Practically every single one of this administration's stances / policies feeds the Cloward-Piven strategy of collapsing our economic system.
1.) Stimulus
2.) Burgeoning Debt
3.) Runaway Deficits
4.) Obamacare
5.) Record number of food stamps
6.) Extended unemployment benefits
7.) No budget
8.) Endless spending
9.) Countless and absurd regulations (except for OWS)
And for the nice little cherry on top, Obama has expressed outright solidarity with the OWS movement, which is racking up quite the bill with cities all across the country. At last count, it was over $21 Million.
Again, if everything this administration does works toward the end of collapsing the economy, the word 'astonishing' isn't all that appropriate. It should be replaced with the word 'criminal.'

Audio: Eric Holder Loses his Cool over Fast and Furious
After leaving the stage at the White House, Attorney General Eric Holder was approached by Daily Caller reporter Neil Munro about the rising number of congressmen who are calling for Holder's resignation over Operation Fast and Furious. Holder angrily shot back that the Caller is responsible and that the resignation calls are 'not organic.'
It may be safe to say that Holder is getting a bit testy about his upcoming appearance in front of the House Judiciary Committee on December 8th. That hearing will be a must-watch as Oversight Committee chairman Darrell Issa is on that committee, along with Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), who have both been bulldogs on this scandal.

Did Senator Diane Feinstein Implicate DOJ in Commission of Crime
Back on November 8th, when Attorney General Eric Holder was testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) referenced specific trace data about some guns. The problem is that she should not have had that information and if someone at DOJ leaked it to her, it is a serious violation of the law.
Via David Codrea at Gun Rights Examiner:

Via David Codrea at Gun Rights Examiner:
Persons within the Department of Justice whose identities are not yet publicly known apparently broke the law by leaking firearms trace data to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, which she introduced in the Senate Judiciary Committee record in the hearing on Department of Justice oversight earlier this month.
“If I may,” Senator Feinstein requested at the beginning of her questioning of Attorney General Eric Holder (see webcast, at the 69:45 mark), I'd like to put in the record the official firearms trace data from the Department of Justice from 12/1/2006 to 2000...excuse me, 9/30/2011...this is guns [unintelligible] Mexico.”
Left unchallenged and unsaid is how Feinstein obtained the data, which is prohibited by the Tiahrt Amendment from being shared with anyone but law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, and only then in the course of a criminal investigation. That prohibition extends even to Senator Feinstein, as evidenced by the failed attempt earlier this year by Rep. Adam Schiff “to allow Congressional committees to be included on the list of entities to which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms can disclose part or all of the contents of the Firearms Trace System database.”Holder will be in front of the House Oversight Committee on December 8th and this would be an excellent line of questioning for him to have to deal with.

Richmond Tea Party Invoices City, Gets Audit Letter Instead
Imagine you're a Tea Party organizer and in your dealings with the city, you follow all of the legal requirements for your rally. You pay for permits, security expenses, sanitation / toilets, etc. Then imagine watching OWS come to town, set up camp, and not have to pay for any of those things while placing a far greater burden on the city. Then, out of fairness, you decide to send the city an invoice for all of the things your group paid for but OWS did not.
Instead of a check, you receive a letter from the city informing you that you're being audited.

City Audit Letter Notification
Instead of a check, you receive a letter from the city informing you that you're being audited.
Via Right Side News:
Two weeks after the Richmond Tea Party delivered an invoice to Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones for costs incurred for previous rallies; we received a letter from the City of Richmond formally stating that the city is auditing our Tea Party. Coincidence? This audit is an obvious attempt to intimidate and harass us for standing up against the unfair treatment and discrimination against our Tea Party.
First some back story: As reported on the front page of the Richmond Times Dispatch, the Richmond Tea Party delivered an invoice for charges incurred in our previous three Tax Day rallies at Kanawha Plaza because Mayor Jones chose to allow Occupy Richmond protesters to convene in the same park for two weeks.
The Mayor not only allowed the Occupiers to break the law, but he visited them in the city-owned park. “Jones said that as a ‘child of civil rights’ and protests, he had allowed the group to remain in the park but understands his mayoral responsibility to uphold laws of the city,” reported the Richmond Times Dispatch.
Apparently his mayoral duties included preferential treatment for a group he sympathizes with ideologically at the expense of the taxpayers.
The blog Virginia Right reported that the city provided services such as portable toilets, trash pickup etc. The incomplete invoices obtained from the city totaled $7,000. This was only a portion of the actual costs to taxpayers because the costs of police, helicopter and incarcerations were not included. Also not accounted for was the 24-hour police protection of the Mayor’s home after the Occupiers moved their camp next door to the Mayor’s house. The Richmond Tea Party, conversely, paid for all services for our rallies, including the police, portable toilets, park fees and permits, amounting to approximately $8,500.
Instead of seeing that the Tea Party was right, the Department of Finance doubled down on stupid and sent the Tea Party a letter notifying them of an audit.
No word on the City sending OWS an invoice.

Video: Colin Powell Once Again Proves Liberal Credentials
Colin Powell sealed his fate as a liberal in Republican garb when he endorsed Obama over McCain in 2008. Powell's stance has consistently been that the Republican Party needs to become more moderate but he voted for the most ideologically left-wing president in American history while casting aside one of the Republican Party's most moderate nominees in history.
With that as a backdrop, any charges levied by Powell that assert both parties are focused on moving to the 'extreme left' and 'extreme right' respectively is a non-starter. For some reason, Powell cannot see that Obama is at the root of the division in Congress.
In all of Powell's talk of the need for compromise, he seems to be willing to accept the premise that compromise should be sought with Marxism.
He's just flat wrong and the best thing he can do is admit he made a mistake by voting for president in 2008 based on race. If he can't admit that, he has no business placing an "R" after his name.

Jay-Z Channels Judas Iscariot
When people think of Judas Iscariot, the first thought that comes to mind is betrayal but he had another very undesirable quality and Jay-Z seems to be exhibiting it right now.
There's hypocrisy and then there is downright exploitation and theft on top of it. This would apply to rapper Jay-Z, who is capitalizing on the Occupy Wall Street movement by selling t-shirts that express solidarity with the movement while not using any of the proceeds to support it. The sheer notion is antithetical to everything the OWS supposedly stands for. Ah, the exploitation of an anti-capitalism movement through the use of capitalism. Using the OWS standard, Jay-Z - who is squarely in the 1% - is stealing from the 99% by profiting from it.
Remember when Mary Magdalene applied expensive oil to the feet of Jesus? Judas objected.
John 12: 4-6
Ain't it interesting how the portion of the 1% profiting most from OWS claims to be champions of OWS?

4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii[b] and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.Based on the message that donn's Jay-Z's shirts, they should be sold with all the money going to the poor. Yet, while he's in the 1%, he's in possession of a rather large money box and he's selling the shirts to the 99% (alleged poor), not to benefit them but to profit from them. Here is a message that has appeared on Rocawear's website (Jay-Z's clothing line):
"Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. 'Occupy All Streets' is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement."As an added bonus, the shirts are even made in Mexico. Ya think that helps Jay-Z's margins at $22 a pop? Is it safe to say that Jay-Z is selling these shirts not because he cares for the poor but because he is a thief (based on OWS' own standards)? Ditto for Michael Moore, who sells books at the protests and Miley Cyrus, who has recorded a song about them.

Confirmed: OWS More Racist than Tea Party
Forget the fact that the extremely anti-Semitic group known as CAIR joined the OWS protests in New York; one of CAIR's lawyers organized Occupy Orlando, and former CAIR South Florida Executive Director led a 2008 protest in which participants called for Jews to be 'sent back to the ovens,' we now have an interesting statistic relative to those cries of racism that come from the left when it comes to the Tea Party. In 2010, a Gallup Poll showed that 6% of the black population aligned themselves with the Tea Party. Yet, only 1.6% of the OWS movement is black despite the fact that the OWS represents the party that typically garners 90% of the black vote.
The Washington Post has engaged in a bizarre form of rationalization about why:
OWS is Racist.

The Washington Post has engaged in a bizarre form of rationalization about why:
Blacks have historically suffered the income inequality and job scarcity that the Wall Street protesters are now railing against. Perhaps black America’s absence is sending a message to the Occupiers: “We told you so! Nothing will change. We’ve been here already. It’s hopeless.”What? Is this a back-handed admission that the hope and change Obama promised isn't available to blacks OR whites? I have a better explanation for why black membership at OWS is not even one third that of black Tea Party membership.
OWS is Racist.

Video: Draft Sarah Palin Ad set to Air in Iowa
In case you didn't know, there is a movement afoot to draft Sarah Palin back into the presidential race. This is likely being fed by the fact that the 'Not-Romney' candidate is shaping up to be another DC establishment guy in Gingrich, who got there with strong debate performances and red meat rhetoric. Anyway, here is the ad that is set to run in Iowa on November 29th.
Of course, if Palin even honors the request, she will have put herself behind the 8-ball because some important filing deadlines have already passed, including Florida. In light of the ad and sentiment among Tea Party voters, that neither Gingrich nor Romney is a sufficient choice, I found this exchange Palin had wit ET's Mary Hart back in October, 2010 rather interesting. Ruh Roh: Chevy Volt Batteries Catching Fire, 21st Century's Version of Ford Pinto?
Some might argue that the crowning achievement of the Obama administration so far has been the Chevy Volt. The bad news is that it appears the batteries in these vehicles may be at risk of catching fire after the car is involved in an accident. The good news? There aren't many on the road.
Via the AP:

Via the AP:
WASHINGTON — New fires involving the lithium-ion batteries in General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet Volt have prompted an investigation to assess the risk of fire in the electric car after a serious crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.
One Volt battery pack that was being closely monitored following a government crash test caught fire Thursday, the safety administration said in a statement. Another recently crash-tested battery emitted smoke and sparks, the statement said.
GM, which was informed of the investigation on Friday, said in a statement that the Volt "is safe and does not present undue risk as part of normal operation or immediately after a severe crash." The latest fires are in addition to a battery fire in a crash-tested Volt six months ago.
NHTSA learned of a possible fire risk involving damaged Volt batteries when a fire erupted in a Volt that was being stored in a parking lot of a test facility in Burlington, Wis. The fire was severe enough to cause several other vehicles parked nearby to catch fire as well.
The car had been subjected to a side-impact crash test more than three weeks earlier, on May 12, during which the battery was punctured and its coolant line ruptured. For some reason, I was reminded of the Ford Pinto case, a huge black eye for Ford. Design flaws caused gas tank explosions during rear-end collisions.

Videos: ABC's Diane Sawyer Shredded by Citizen Journalist
ABC's 20/20 recently aired a program on Islam. It was narrated by Diane Sawyer, who delivered a puff piece on the religion with no basis in reality. These two videos from David Wood from a group called Answering Muslims. At some point, the mainstream media will be face to face with its own cowardice. Watch ABC's piece get absolutely shredded:

Will Occupation Party Split Democratic Vote?
As the Ron Pauliens continue to clamor for their cultic hero to launch a third party run, a manifestation created, fed, and endorsed by Obama administration apparatchiks - the Occupy Wall Street movement - appears to be preparing a third party run of its own.
Stay tuned for future stories on this. I have an idea where this is headed....
Here is the entire Van Jones' interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux:
Welcome to Occupy Congress… a place for the 99%
The Occupation Party is a new third party that stands in solidarity with the populist message of Occupy Wall Street.
We are planning to occupy the political process and take the people’s message into Congress by electing representatives and senators who are people from the 99%, not the political elite. Here is the Occupation Party's platform:
November 13, 2011 Revised Draft
Our first task is to develop and promote legislation that will address the serious flaws in our financial, political, and taxation systems. Therefore, we need to accomplish the following:
* Restore Reasonable Regulation to the Financial System
* Ensure Equal Justice for All
* Enact Campaign Finance and Electoral Reform
* Implement Fair Tax Reform
* Implement Lobbying ReformThis is interesting indeed because on November 16th, one of the OWS's main organizers (Rebuild the Dream), Van Jones called for a 'Phase 2' among OWS that involved sending people to Congress and getting more engaged in politics. Here is an excerpt from what Van Jones had to say:
"Phase 2, you move from anger to answers… They (Tea Party) pivoted over to politics… We are going to be recruiting 2000 candidates to run for office now, under this 99% banner. You're going to see an evolution now as you go from, keep the protests but now expand into politics. And if you thought there was an earthquake in 2010 when the Tea Party moved into politics, wait until this 99% movement moves over into politics. You haven't seen anything yet."Note that this interview was given three days after the Occupation Party's platform was published. As someone who supports the Obama agenda, the notion that Van Jones would support a third party movement that would siphon votes from the Democratic Party makes little sense.
Stay tuned for future stories on this. I have an idea where this is headed....
Here is the entire Van Jones' interview with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux:
Occupy Black Friday: Epic Fail
Good interview on Fox and Friends with Fox Radio's Todd Starnes, who makes some excellent points. Among them, the Occupy Movement appears to have gone from a protest movement to a 'Domestic terrorist' movement. That's quite salient, considering that Bill Ayers is actually speaking to Occupy movements (Chicago and Harrisburg). Starnes also makes the point that Obama has not spoken out against this movement's actions at all. Putting Starnes' two thoughts together necessitates the view that Obama is supporting domestic terrorism, at minimum, through inaction.

Arab Spring Rally: 'Kill All Jews'
For those who doubt that Obama is against Israel, consider the fact that his administration called for the removal of Hosni Mubarak. Another fact is that a Muslim Brotherhood protest at which those in attendance vowed to 'one day kill all Jews' would not have been allowed to happen under Mubarak. Now that Mubarak is gone? No problem.

Via Ynet News:
A Muslim Brotherhood rally in Cairo's most prominent mosque Friday turned into a venomous anti-Israel protest, with attendants vowing to "one day kill all Jews."
Some 5,000 people joined the rally, called to promote the "battle against Jerusalem's Judaization." The event coincided with the anniversary of the United Nations' partition plan in 1947, which called for the establishment of a Jewish state.
However, most worshippers who prayed at the mosque Friday quickly left it before the Muslim Brotherhood's rally got underway. A group spokesman urged attendants to remain for the protest, asking them not to create a bad impression for the media by leaving. It would seem that the Muslim Brotherhood is a pretty powerful bunch and can intimidate others into doing their will. Hmmmmm, haven't many of us on the right been saying this very thing? I digress.
Speakers at the event delivered impassioned, hateful speeches against Israel, slamming the "Zionist occupiers" and the "treacherous Jews." Upon leaving the rally, worshippers were given small flags, with Egypt's flag on one side and the Palestinian flag on the other, as well as maps of Jerusalem's Old City detailing where "Zionists are aiming to change Jerusalem's Muslim character."
Propaganda material ahead of Egypt's parliamentary elections was also handed out at the site.
Spiritual leader Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb charged in his speech that to this day Jews everywhere in the world are seeking to prevent Islamic and Egyptian unity.
"In order to build Egypt, we must be one. Politics is insufficient. Faith in Allah is the basis for everything," he said. "The al-Aqsa Mosque is currently under an offensive by the Jews…we shall not allow the Zionists to Judaize al-Quds (Jerusalem.) We are telling Israel and Europe that we shall not allow even one stone to be moved there."So, according to this speaker, Islam is a religion and a state. Where have I heard that before? It certainly wasn't from the mainstream media.
Hypothetically, if the Muslim Brotherhood got its wish and there were no more Jews, does anyone think their hatred would go away?

More Female Reporters Sexually Assaulted at Tahrir Square
CBS reporter Lara Logan was separated from her camera man in Tahrir Square when the battery that powered the light died, earlier this year. She subsequently endured a sustained and violent sexual assault during which she resolved herself that she was going to die.
In the latest round of protests at Tarhir Square, there have been at least two more female reporters who have suffered similar fates, with one assault sounding like a mirror image of what happened to Logan.

Via the Daily Caller:
In the wake of massive protests against Egypt’s military rulers, the watchdog group Reporters Without Borders reports that at least two female journalists have been sexually assaulted.
On Friday the group reported that Caroline Sinz, a French reporter for public TV station France 3, was sexually assaulted Thursday in Cairo while covering the protests.
Sinz described her ordeal to Agence France-Presse, explaining that she was separated from her cameraman Salah Agrabi and attacked by local men. “We were then assaulted by a crowd of men.
I was beaten by a group of youngsters and adults who tore my clothes,” she said.
Sinz explained that she was assaulted in a way that “would be considered rape,” adding that “[s]ome people tried to help me but failed. I was lynched. It lasted three quarters of an hour before I was taken out. I thought I was going to die.”It is simply amazing that with all that is known about how Islam views women, coupled with the al-Qaeda flags flying in Cairo lately, that the western media has not figured out what's going on.

Cost of OWS to Taxpayers: $21 Million
There can be no doubt that Barack Obama isn't just presiding over an economic collapse; he wants it. As if record debt and deficits weren't enough, he's supporting a group of miscreants, most of whom live on taxpayer dollars, that are doing millions of dollars in damage all across the country.

Video: Crying Occupy Toronto Protesters - CLASSIC!
If ever there existed :28 of video that gets funnier every time you watch it, this one is a blue ribbon candidate. There are really two guys to watch here. The guy on the right (the one who looks like a Red Hot Chili Pepper) is upset that Occupy Toronto's library is being shut down. The guy on the left gets increasingly emotional with every word RHCP says.
"We're not hurting anyone. We just wanna be here and meet each other, and learn together. We just wanna try and build a new world."
Hey RHCP, all of that can be done somewhere else. Move along.
They need to start reading new books.

Bill Ayers: Obama's new Occupy Wall Street Czar?
Just two days ago, Barack Obama expressed his continuing support for the Occupy Wall Street movement. One week earlier, it was reported that former domestic terrorist and Obama neighbor colleague, Bill Ayers was giving instruction to Occupy Chicago.
Now, on the heels of Obama's professed re-support of OWS, Ayers will be speaking at Occupy Harrisburg.

Ayers will lead a discussion at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore. He is expected to discuss activism and grassroots organization. The talk is free and open to the public.I took personal enjoyment in reading about Occupy's attempt to sit on the fence.
The Occupy group is hosting Ayers in an effort to hear all views, but is not endorsing him or his views, member Tyler Chick said.
Ayers spoke at Dickinson College in February and at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore in 2010. That discussion was so inspiring, Chick said, that he wanted to invite Ayers back. Can we finally say that Obama and Ayers were more than just neighbors? Bill Ayers, Obama's Occupy Czar.

Video: Al-Qaeda Flags Flying in Egypt...
...and the mainstream media is sleeping. The only thing more shameful than the mainstream media being so blatantly wrong so as to push a glowing narrative about the 'Arab Spring' is for them to avoid correcting the record when it has become so blatantly obvious that they were wrong while others had it nailed.

OWS'r Arrested for Threatening to Murder Governor
How many OWS miscreants must rear their heads before it becomes patently obvious to more than about 40% of Americans that this movement is full of miscreants? In this case, Nathan Shafer, an OWS sympathizer, threatened to murder South Carolina Governor and Tea Party favorite Nikki Haley on facebook. I keep coming back to the exchange between Piers Morgan and Gabrielle Giffords' husband Mark Kelly, in which the host brought up Sarah Palin as some sort of irresponsible accomplice to the Giffords shooting, despite the Alaska governor having NO connection to that shooting.
Moreover, the shooter, Loughner, was apolitical at best, a crazed leftist at worst.
Contrast that with Shafer, who is obviously political - he is an OWS sympathizer - threatening the life of the South Carolina governor. Wouldn't you like to ask both Kelly and Morgan who's responsible for Shafer's rage?

Former CAIR Executive Director Heading Occupy Miami
This anti-Semitic sentiment within the Occupy Wall Street movement is becoming rather systemic. One of the founders and spokesmen for Occupy Miami was not only an Executive Director for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in South Florida but he's led anti-Israel protests that called for bombing Israel with nukes and sending Jews back to ovens. Yet, Barack Obama has recently endorsed the Occupy movement while Mohammad Malik apparently faces no repurcussions.
Via WND:
There is MUCH more on Mohammad Malik and OWS Miami.
Read it all.
Via WND:
The recent executive director of the controversial Council on American-Islamic Relations' South Florida chapter is a founder and spokesman of Occupy Miami, WND has learned.
Mohammad Malik currently is as an activist with several other Islamic groups.
He has led hate-filled anti-Israel protests in which participants were filmed wearing Hamas paraphernalia while chanting "Nuke Israel" and "Go back to the oven" – a reference to Jews being killed in the Holocaust.
Malik has been widely quoted in the Florida news media in recent weeks speaking for Occupy Miami.
The Miami Herald identified Malik as one of the organizers of Occupy's Miami's downtown campsite headquarters.According to the current Executive Director of CAIR South Florida, Nezar Hamze, Malik was given an honorable discharge from the group:
Malik departed CAIR several months ago. He previously worked for ACLU Florida, coordinating its Racial Justice and Voting Rights Projects.
He did not return email and phone requests for comment.
Nezar Hamze, the current director of CAIR-South Florida, told WND yesterday that Malik departed his Islamic group under friendly terms.
"He left several months ago, maybe almost a year ago," said Hamze. "He got a better position, I think, at the ACLU," he said.Once again, in light of these realities, I think it's important to underscore the fact that Gabrielle Giffords' husband, Mark Kelly, has decided to go after Sarah Palin for her 'target' chart while these vehement anti-Semites and other miscreants within the OWS crowd get the endorsement of the President of the United States.

Obama Doubles Down on Support for OWS
When Barack Obama initially expressed support for the Occupy Wall Street crowd, they hadn't yet racked up thousands of arrests and millions of dollars in damages. With the passage of time, the OWS movement has become a political liability for the administration. Obama's relative silence may have been perceived as a tacit admission that the administration should distance itself from the miscreants.
That perception would be wrong. Obama has come out and publicly re-expressed his support for OWS.
Via Daily Caller:
While this may be a miscalculation on the part of Obama, it might just tell us that he has nowhere else to go, that attempting to change the direction of OWS is too monumental, that this movement is all he has left, and that his only option is full investment.
Juxtapose Obama's continued support for the lawless OWS crowd with Gabrielle Giffords' husband implying that Sarah Palin had some culpability when it came to his wife's shooting.
Some things are beyond remarkable.
That perception would be wrong. Obama has come out and publicly re-expressed his support for OWS.
Via Daily Caller:
When Occupy protesters interrupted his Nov. 22 campaign trail speech at a high school in Manchester, N.H., President Barack Obama declared that, “Young people like the ones here today, including the ones who were just chanting at me —you’re the reason I ran for office in the first place.”
Obama’s unscheduled Nov. 22 endorsement of the Occupy protesters broke his deputies’ month-long silence on the increasingly controversial group. For almost six weeks, Obama’s officials had not endorsed the groups’ actions, offering only bland answers when asked by reporters for comment.
The movement garnered much favorable media coverage in October, prompting initial endorsements in mid-October by Obama and his two leading election advisers.
But since then, the Occupy encampments have been the scenes of several murders, rapes, diseases, assaults and riots. This re-endorsement may be very troublesome but remember what uncle Saul Alinsky says in rules #7 and #8:
Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.
Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.”As for Rule #7, Van Jones expressed to CNN earlier this month that the strategy for OWS was to change the tactic, to shift away from 'anger' and lawlessness to the political arena of elections. To this point, the protesters don't seem all that much interested in doing that. This could be telling Obama the ideologue that the current OWS tactics have not yet become a drag, which leads us to Rule #8; it starts out with the words, 'Keep the pressure on.'

Pathetic: Husband of Gabrielle Giffords 'Targets' Sarah Palin
The husband of Gabrielle Giffords, the congresswoman who was shot last January, is shockingly playing politics with his wife's shooting and 'targeting' Sarah Palin. If you remember, the left began politicizing the shooting within a few short hours; Paul Krugman comes to mind. The left continued to fish for a narrative and found one to beat on. Before the 2010 elections, Palin's team released a map of congressional districts with targets on them to illustrate 'targeted districts.' One of those districts was Giffords. The left actually drew a connection between those targets and the motive of Jared Loughner.
Conveniently absent from the left was the fact that Loughner was not motivated by those targets at all; if he was in the least bit political, he was a leftist (communist manifesto was a favorite book).
Yet, Mark Kelly has decided nearly one year later to go after Palin instead of do the responsible thing and categorically reject that narrative. This is really disgraceful.
Via the Telegraph:
No doubt, he was angry and wanted to blame someone; it's human nature, which is what highlights the irresponsibility of the media. The fact remains, however. Sarah Palin had absolutely nothing to do with Giffords' shooting. NOTHING. Logically, why would he call the Giffords? Wouldn't the media exploit that as an admission that she did?

Via the Telegraph:
Mark Kelly has spoken candidly about the moment he learned his wife, Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, was shot at a voting event in Tuscon - and his disappointment at not having been contacted by Sarah Palin following the tragedy.
In a guest appearance on last night's CNN Piers Morgan Tonight show, the husband and father berated Ms Palin's irresponsibility, while Mr Morgan said he found her lack of contact 'extraordinary.'
Recalling the horrific moments he learned of the fatal shooting in January - and the ensuing misinformation that led him to believe his wife had been killed - the co-author of Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope revealed that he believed his wife's strength saved her.
But it was the lack of any contact from former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin that was 'surprising' said Mr Kelly. In order for Kelly to be surprised by the fact that he didn't receive a call from Sarah Palin necessarily means that he accepted the absurd premise that she had any degree of culpability in his wife's shooting. Obviously, the media narrative was effective in this regard. It actually caused Kelly to buy into it to some degree.
Mr Kelly said that while he believes Ms Palin is not responsible for what happened that day, her actions were irresponsible.
'You know, this was no surprise to us,' he said. 'Gabby even spoke about it before January 8th, during the election cycle, leading up to the election, in an interview... She made is very clear that, hey, this is what's going on, and this could ultimately incite people to do violent things. '
So it wasn't a big surprise on January 8th...having said that, you know, Sarah Palin certainly is not responsible for what happened. But I think the angry rhetoric in an election year is not - it's not helpful.'Here's all you need to know. "Sarah Palin certainly is not responsible for what happened. But..." This is really, really shameful. The word "but" in that regard means that Kelly is implying Palin had a degree of culpability when she had NONE. Isn't he doing the same thing to Palin that she is allegedly responsible for doing to his wife - putting her in danger? This guy is an astronaut and obviously very intelligent, which is what makes his amazingly dumb behavior all the more troubling.

Video Awesomeness: Douglas Brinkley Goes After Congressman at Hearing
In front of the House Natural Resources Committee, liberal historian Douglas Brinkley was addressed by Rep. Don Young (R-AK) as "Mr. Rice." The exchange devolved from there. It's safe to say that although the issue of Brinkley's name was the excuse for arguing, it had little to do with the reason. It was great too because at one point, Brinkley channeled serious Tea Party sentiment after Young told him to "be quiet."
Brinkley responded with, "You don't own me. I work for the private sector; you work for the taxpayers."
The Tea Party has needed a shot in the arm for a while now. Though I'm not making any predictions, this is the kind of thing it needs until something like it provides that boost. In fact, with Brinkley being a liberal who rejected elitist treatment from a Republican, the Tea Party has the perfect opportunity to demonstrate further that it is against ALL establishment politics, regardless of what side of the aisle it comes from. Brinkley's showdown is with two Republicans, Young and Committee Chairman Doc Hastings:
Via Breitbart:
Brinkley appeared on Ed Schultz's show after that exchange. The difference between the Tea Party and partisan hacks like Schultz is that the former is honest enough to support Brinkley in an exchange like the one he had with Young while Schultz would never do that if Brinkley was a conservative who attacked a Democrat on the committee.

Video: Newt Nails Romney in 14 Seconds
That headline is a bit misleading because the 14 seconds Newt nails Romney with consist of 14 seconds of Romney speaking in support of amnesty for illegal aliens.
This all stemmed from a point of view Newt communicated at the CNN debate relative to immigration policy. Newt argued that an illegal alien, who has been in the US for 25 years, should not be ripped away from his / her family and deported. Romney obviously saw this as an opportunity to appeal to the conservative base on the immigration issue.

DES MOINES — An intense debate over immigration flared among the Republican presidential candidates on Wednesday as Mitt Romney declared that Newt Gingrich “offered a new doorway to amnesty” when he called for a “humane” immigration policy to avoid deportation for people who are deeply rooted in their churches and communities. However, as Newt pointed out via twitter, Romney communicated a position not long ago (2007) that places him to the left of the view expressed by former Speaker at the debate. This couldn't have been better if Gingrich had done this intentionally.
Mr. Romney, who is eager to stop the rise of Mr. Gingrich with the Iowa caucuses only six weeks away, signaled that he intended to go after his rival with the same vigor he used against Gov. Rick Perry of Texas two months ago when he said Republicans were “heartless” for standing in the way of offering education to children of illegal immigrants.
With the controversy likely to shape the next phase of the nominating fight, Mr. Romney repeatedly used the word “amnesty” during a campaign visit here to describe the position Mr. Gingrich outlined at a debate Tuesday night. While aides to Mr. Gingrich forcefully refuted the characterization of his plan as “amnesty,” a swift backlash erupted among conservative activists that could present the biggest test of his resurgent candidacy.

Russian News Anchor Fired for Giving Obama the Middle Finger
Remember that Russian news anchorette, Tatyana Limanova, who flipped viewers 'the bird' right after uttering Barack Obama's name? She's been fired; yet another victim of the Obama economy apparently.
Unfortunately, it appears she was actually using the gesture to communicate to studio technicians who were trying to get her to mess up her lines. Thinking she was off-camera as footage was being run over her voice, she was a split second too soon and appeared to communicate sentiment shared with about 40% of Americans.
It appears this situation is a lose/lose for Limanova. By not flipping Obama the finger, she lost the support of a lot of Americans. By flipping the finger right after saying Obama's name, she lost the support of her employer.

Is Obama Setting the Table for War in Syria?
As bad as the dictators in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Syria have been, the vacuum that has been filled in the first three instances is proving to be far worse. The Muslim Brotherhood has all but taken over. Al-Qaeda flags are flying in Egypt and Libya today. In each instance, the Obama administration's policies have been in favor of the Brotherhood. The same thing is transpiring in Syria right now and Bashar al-Assad appears to be the next dictator targeted for removal. The US is sending an aircraft carrier to the region under the auspices of helping American citizens leave the country.
Via Daily Caller:
With all the talk of instituting a "no-fly" zone over Syria, coupled with a US aircraft carrier being sent to the region, don't be surprised if American fighters end up being tasked with enforcing that no-fly zone. We are, after all, living through an administration who claims it has to issue Executive Orders because Congress is not acting.
The saddest part about all of these uprisings is the amount of money the United States is spending in support of them while all Turkey has to do is sit back and watch us do their bidding.

Via Daily Caller:
The USS George H.W. Bush, the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier, has reportedly parked off the Syrian coast. The move comes as the U.S. embassy in Damascus urged Americans to “immediately” leave the country.
“The U.S. embassy continues to urge U.S. citizens in Syria to depart immediately while commercial transportation is available,” began a statement released Wednesday on the embassy website. “The number of airlines serving Syria has decreased significantly since the summer, while many of those airlines remaining have reduced their number of flights.”
In addition to urging citizens to leave the country, CBS News reports that Ambassador Robert Ford, who was recalled from Syria last month due to what the Obama administration called credible threats to his safety, will not return to the country later this month as planned.
Syria’s government has been strongly condemned by the international community following months of state-sponsored violence against political activists protesting the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. The violence is said to have left thousands dead in the country, which is a close ally of Iran and a sponsor of the Islamic terrorist group Hezbollah. The next paragraph in the story should be one of great interest:
Adding to the sense of danger, Turkey, a NATO member and fierce critic of Assad’s government, recently warned its citizens to avoid traveling through the country after Syrian troops fired on at least two buses carrying Turkish Muslims returning from the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.Again, Turkey is the proposed site of a return to a global caliphate. Yes, the Ottoman Empire, which is what the Muslim Brotherhood was created to reestablish. Of course Turkey is critical of Assad.

Video: RNC Ad Torpedoes Obama's Record Using Liberal Commentators
Ever since the mid-terms, it's been obvious that the strategy of the Obama administration is to paint Republicans as obstructionists and that the Congress is doing nothing, which is why Obama has to act using Executive Orders. This is egregiously false. It is a premise based on a lie. The Republican-led house has been passing countless pieces of legislation - as well as a budget - that have been dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Taking this even further, there has been wide-spread sentiment among DC insiders that Obama has been disengaged from the entire process.
This ad highlights that reality while using liberal commentators to do it. The best part is that the words of those commentators were not taken out of context.

Is Gingrich in the Lead for Palin Endorsement?
The endorsement of Sarah Palin is like getting Boardwalk and Park Place in a game of Monopoly; everyone wants it. To this point, the former Alaska governor hasn't yet tipped her hand as to who she's going to endorse but the stars may be aligning for Newt to pick it up.
Via RCP:
That should tell every Republican voter that Romney is not the best candidate. He, in fact, might be the worst based on those reasons alone.
As for Gingrich, any debate he were to have with Obama would be something the Obama administration desperately wants to avoid. That should be obvious after watching Gingrich against his primary opponents. It is his debating that has got him where he is right now in the polls. The more debates, the better he does.
Assuming Palin is ready to endorse Gingrich and assuming that she has concerns about his D.C. establishment credentials, she's probably right to hold out her endorsement until she gets more of a public commitment from Gingrich - or whomever she chooses to endorse - that crony capitalism will be a thing of the past. That's been her hot-button issue and she should get as much as she can in return for her endorsement.

Via RCP:
Almost immediately upon Sarah Palin's announcement that she would not seek the Republican nomination for president, the phone calls from almost all of the GOP candidates began pouring in. They wanted her endorsement.
While Palin has characteristically kept her cards close to her chest, advisers suggest that the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is likely to endorse before someone emerges as the inevitable nominee -- and that Newt Gingrich appears to be best-positioned to secure her support.
"They speak very favorably of Newt and what they see as his credentials as compared to Perry and Romney," one member of Palin's inner circle said of the former Alaska governor and her husband, Todd, who has long served as her unofficial chief adviser. Gingrich has been particularly effusive in expressing his admiration for Palin over the last few months, and she has returned the favor by heaping praise on the former House speaker.
"Newt Gingrich again, I think, did the best because he seems to be above a lot of the bickering that goes on," Palin said on Fox News after a Republican debate in Las Vegas last month, adding that Gingrich would “clobber” President Obama in a general election debate. The Obama media (mainstream media) wants Mitt Romney to win the nomination, just like it wanted McCain to win in 2008. The reason is three-fold. He is the candidate team Obama thinks it has the best chance to beat; he is the candidate least likely to generate an energetic conservative base; and as a liberal, Romney would be the left's best option if Obama were to lose.
That should tell every Republican voter that Romney is not the best candidate. He, in fact, might be the worst based on those reasons alone.

Occupy Buffalo Leader Left Army Before 9/11, says he Served in Afghanistan and Iraq
Occupy Buffalo leader Christopher Simmance has been touting his military record as one that includes tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as claims that he was badly wounded by an RPG. There's a big problem that he has, to this point, not been able to resolve. All of Simmance's military paperwork says he left the Army months before the 9/11 attacks. There are also multiple holes in his story.
Via Buffalo News:
These exaggerations haven't just caused problems for Simmance at Occupy Buffalo:
h/t Weasel Zippers
The claims of a dedicated member of the Occupy Buffalo movement that he saw combat in Iraq and Afghanistan are not supported by Army records. There are other discrepancies like the locations Simmance lists as places he served. For example, his claim that he served in the Valley of Efah in Afghanistan is belied by the fact that the Valley of Efah is where David slew Goliath; that battle did not take place in Afghanistan.
Christopher M. Simmance has told several media outlets, including The Buffalo News, that he served as many as three tours of duty in those war zones and that he was severely injured in Afghanistan.
Service records obtained from the Army, however, show he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., for three years and he left the active-duty Army in January 2001 -- before the 9/11 terror attacks.
Simmance insists his Army records are incomplete. He told The News he stands by his claims of seeing combat.
"Everything I've told you is completely true; I've got nothing to hide," Simmance said in one of three interviews.
People close to Simmance told The News they initially believed his claims of wartime deployments but they grew disenchanted when they discovered he was exaggerating his military service.
"I cannot confirm any of what he said," Denise Simmance, his mother, told The News.
These exaggerations haven't just caused problems for Simmance at Occupy Buffalo:
Christopher's mother gave an interview to a News columnist in November 2008 in which she shared details of Simmance's experiences in Iraq, including the horrific task of pulling body parts out of the rubble of a bombed home. Now, she doesn't believe any of it.A leader of the Occupy Buffalo movement has a mental illness? Really?
When she challenged him on his assertions, Christopher Simmance became defensive.
"Our relationship is severely damaged," his mother said.
Denise Simmance said she believes his need to exaggerate his service stems from a mental illness, and she worries for him.

Video: Michael Moore compares Can of Pepper Spray to Chinese Military Tanks
Thirteen miscreant students at the UC Davis campus wouldn't get their behinds up off the sidewalk after police gave them multiple warnings that unless they did so, the mini-mass of humanity would be pepper-sprayed. They didn't move and they were sprayed (as bad as pepper spray is, it probably smelled better than these protesters). That's not the worst part, however. The worst part was Michael Moore comparing what he perceived to be the bravery of these thirteen students to the bravery of one man who stood in front of a row of tanks at Tienanmen Square.
Yeah, he went there. Thirteen students vs. a can of pepper spray = One man vs. thirteen tanks.

OWS and the Book of Numbers 11: 4-6; 10-13; 18-20
We've all had plenty of opportunities to witness the Occupy Wall Street miscreants in action. They want something for nothing and seem all too interested in ceding their freedom to the government. The problem is they want to take the entire country with them. Without faith, freedom can be quite scary. With faith and fortitude, it can be energizing and, well, liberating. The OWS crowd doesn't seem to want any of that. They just want to exist in their own filth and put their collective fate in the hands of others (aren't taxpayers footing the bill for all of the destruction?)
It got me thinking about Moses and what he had to put up with in the wilderness. In fact, as his people lost faith, they longed for slavery and wanted to return to Egypt. Moses, who was filled with faith, simply could not understand them. His people frustrated him. After all that he had done for them, as a vessel for God's will, they wanted to return to slavery. They literally wanted to trade freedom for slavery. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Just like Occupy Wall Street protesters.
The people grew tired of manna from heaven and wanted meat so badly that they were willing to enslave themselves again in order to get it.
Numbers 11:4-6:
Numbers 11:10-13
Be Thankful this Thanksgiving.

The people grew tired of manna from heaven and wanted meat so badly that they were willing to enslave themselves again in order to get it.
Numbers 11:4-6:
4 Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”No doubt, as they talked amongst themselves, they rubbed raw the sores of their own discontent and began to actually believe that slavery was better than freedom.
Numbers 11:10-13
10 Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent; and the anger of the LORD was greatly aroused; Moses also was displeased. 11 So Moses said to the LORD, “Why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me? 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers? 13 Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’Of course, in the saga of OWS, manna represents freedom and opportunity while meat represents that which they don't deserve but nonetheless indignantly demand. A little further, in verses 18-20, Moses' followers get more meat than they can handle after demanding it while telling one another that they were "better off in Egypt." It smacks of be careful what you wish for because you just might get it:
18 Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the LORD, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you shall eat. 19 You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, 20 but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have despised the LORD who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, “Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?”’”It's reading passages like these that help me understand why the left rejects God.
Be Thankful this Thanksgiving.
ClimateGate 2: Another Torpedo to 'the Cause'
Perhaps no single event - not even snow in New Orleans or Las Vegas - so torpedoed Al Gore's global warming, er climate change movement than the hundreds of thousands of emails that were released about this time two years ago, just as the Copenhagen climate summit was set to begin (it was unseasonably cold there at the time, as I remember). It looks like the sinking ship that is the climate change movement has just taken another significant hit, on the eve of this year's climate summit, in Durban, South Africa.
Perhaps the two most recognizable names that popped up in the emails released two years ago were Dr. Phil Jones of East Anglia University and Michael Mann of Penn State University (yeah, that Penn State). Their names pop up in these emails as well.

Climate Depot has also posted a bunch of damning excerpts:
BBC is still running interference but at least they're reporting on this story quickly, which is more than can be said about them in 2009.

Via The Guardian:
A fresh tranche of private emails exchanged between leading climate scientists throughout the last decade was released online on Tuesday. The unauthorised publication is an apparent attempt to repeat the impact of a similar release of emails on the eve of the Copenhagen climate summit in late 2009.
The initial email dump was apparently timed to disrupt the Copenhagen climate talks. It prompted three official inquiries in the UK and two in the US into the working practices of climate scientists. Although these were critical of the scientists' handling of Freedom of Information Act requests and lack of openness they did not find fault with the climate change science they had produced.
Norfolk police have said the new set of emails is "of interest" to their investigation to find the perpetrator of the initial email release who has not yet been identified.
The emails appear to be genuine, but the University of East Anglia said the "sheer volume of material" meant it was not yet able to confirm that they were. One of the emailers, the climate scientist Prof Michael Mann, has confirmed that he believes they are his messages. The lack of any emails post-dating the 2009 release suggests that they were obtained at the same time, but held back. Their release now suggests they are intended to cause maximum impact before the upcoming climate summit in Durban which starts on Monday. The website Watts Up with That is running a constantly updated thread. You can check that HERE. One of the more interesting things posted there are some excerpts from Mann's emails in which the pseudo-scientist from Penn State refers quite often to 'the cause.' Here are some of them:
Mann: By the way, when is Tom C going to formally publish his roughly 1500 year reconstruction??? It would help the cause to be able to refer to that reconstruction as confirming Mann and Jones, etc.
Mann: They will (see below) allow us to provide some discussion of the synthetic example, referring to the J. Cimate paper (which should be finally accepted upon submission of the revised final draft), so that should help the cause a bit.
Mann: I gave up on Judith Curry a while ago. I don’t know what she think’s she’s doing, but its not helping the causeIsn't it interesting that as common-thinking people knew it was about "the cause" all along, Al Gore's minions demonized - and continue to do so - those clear-thinking people as climate skeptics?

Climate Depot has also posted a bunch of damning excerpts:
Michael Mann, 2006: "we certainly don’t know the GLOBAL mean temperature anomaly very well, and nobody has ever claimed we do"
Mike, The Figure you sent is very deceptive [...] there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model results by individual authors and by IPCC [...]
Jones: 'I wasted a part of a day deleting numerous emails and exchanges with almost all the skeptics. So I have virtually nothing. I even deleted the email that I inadvertently sent'This is a ton of material and for those who don't have time to go through it, just know that this may put the entire climate change movement down for the count.
BBC is still running interference but at least they're reporting on this story quickly, which is more than can be said about them in 2009.

Video: Newt Smacks Down Ron Paul
After the CNN debate last night, the Ron Paul echo chamber was, no doubt, full of Pauliens telling each other how great their candidate was. The reality is that, once again, when it comes to Paul's wiring relative to understanding the threats to the United States it is, in a word, defective. Newt Gingrich masterfully demonstrated it.
The former speaker indicated that the Patriot Act might need strengthening and Ron Paul responded by calling the Patriot Act unpatriotic. Gingrich also drew a clear line of distinction between criminal law and national security with the former being a matter of innocent until proven guilty and defensive in nature while the latter is something that requires a proactive approach.
Predictably, Paul went back to the same, tired example that liberals always do when the subject of Islamic terrorism comes up; he whipped out the Timothy McVeigh card, to which Newt responded with three words and could have stopped right there.
To further underscore the success of Newt's response to Paul's insanity, the Truther candidate had absolutely no response to the smack down; he didn't even try.
To illustrate this dynamic using an extreme metaphor (I'm sorry, Paul is nuts on foreign policy), have a look at this scene in the movie Backdraft. Donald Sutherland is a jailed pyromaniac who is putting on his best face for the parole board, which appears ready to release him. Robert DeNiro is the Fire Marshall who knows how to get Sutherland to reveal his true self - and does so.
In this example, Sutherland represents Paul (minus the convicted criminal / pyromania), DeNiro represents Gingrich, and the parole board represents the Ron Pauliens.

Video: Chris Matthews on 'Thrill' and 'Chill' vs. 'Tingle' - a Difference without a Distinction
What's the difference between a leg 'thrill,' a leg 'chill' and a leg 'tingle'? At first blush, it might seem like an exercise in semantics but not if your name is Chris Matthews. The liberal, Alinsky-loving, MSNBC commentator has dug in his heels over this one and he's going to the mat to prove that he's right. He even whipped out footage of himself in 2004 to prove it.
There is certainly a degree of hypersensitivity on the part of Matthews over his 2008 comments that have provided an endless supply of comic relief and fodder for conservatives. The words are emblazoned on the virtual parchment of political discourse. While commenting on Barack Obama's speeches, Matthews said:
"I felt thistinglethrill going up my leg."
To further bolster his case, Matthews went to the video vault and found his own comments after Obama's keynote address at the Democratic convention. In response to that speech, Matthews said there was:
"A littletinglechill in my legs right now."
I'm not sure what Matthews hopes to accomplish by attempting to draw this line of distinction but I have a good bet what he WILL accomplish.
